"I work hard & I can enjoy my money" Wizkid defends buying N15m car

Posted: 03 Jul 2013 02:39 AM PDT

Wizkid replaced his N15million Porsche Panamera car with a brand new one less than two weeks after crashing it in an accident. Some people criticized him for it but the music star says he works hard and can spend his money any way he wants to.

He tells Encomium magazine:
"I needed to get another one because after the accident, I didn't have a car and I have to move around. I started taking cabs before I decided to buy this new car to move around. It is needed for work. And I don't think there's anything wrong in splashing millions on a car. If someone works hard and decides to spend on something that he thinks is good for him, why not? In fact, I don't think there's need to justify whether its is wrong or not. I work hard and I will enjoy my money"

Wizkid, Banky W Impostor Nabbed

Posted: 03 Jul 2013 02:34 AM PDT

Press statement from EME's camp...
Nigerian pop star Wizkid has spoken out against his continuous impersonation by fraudsters. The hit maker, bugged by increasing complaints and reported incidents, says he's worried and beyond scandalised, that some bandits would go to any length to perpetrate evil acts and defraud innocent fans and customers.
The EME act spoke today in Lagos, while reacting to on-going investigations on recent discoveries and arrests.
"It's unfair that fraudsters will take advantage of unsuspecting victims. The culprit has been apprehended and all is being done to make sure such incidents don't reoccur." Wizkid said.
An EME impostor is currently in police custody. He was handed over to the police by his latest victim- Muyiwa.
Muyiwa also known as 'Origin' started transactions with the impostor, only to discover he was being duped and quickly handed him over to the police.
Meanwhile, EME Chairman Banky W who has himself been a victim of impersonation, says the label is putting all structures in place, while working with relevant authorities to make sure the trend is put to a stop.
Fake names, phone numbers and bank accounts have been set up to carry out such fraudulent activities. Some of the fake accounts these impostors use include "Bankole Wellington Banky W" on Facebook,Bankyw82@yahoo.comemeonline82@yahoo.com,godwintom1@gmail.com,starboyentertainment@rocketmail.com. The only authorised contact for EME is bookings@empirematesentertainment.com
"Impersonating artists and record labels is apparently the new 419. This is not a unique problem to EME or it's acts, but a serious challenge to most major labels/artists as well as the fans and event organizers. We've done the best we can to streamline our processes so that anyone, anywhere can contact us at Bookings@empirematesentertainment.comor at +234 818 000 0000 and know that they have right information." Banky says.
"It saddens us to know that crooks still try to take advantage of our fans and supporters but we are doing all we can to put the right info out and we hope that everyone takes note, so as not to fall into their traps." He adds.
Wizkid does not take bookings or accept engagement payments into his account. He can only be booked through EME and/or his manager Godwin Tom.
The label says the Police will still apprehend more fraudsters.

OJB responds to Juliet Ibrahim's query on raising $100k for kidney transplant

Posted: 03 Jul 2013 02:31 AM PDT

Last week, Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim posted a message on her instagram page saying kidney transplant does not cost more than $50k and wondered why people raising funds for OJB were requesting for $100, 000. Well, OJB has responded to that.

The ailing music producer and singer told Encomium mag...
"The mistake she's making is that it depends on the hospital you are going to in India. She says she runs a foundation, they might give her a rebate. The procedure itself is $55, 000. When you take out $55, 000, you are left with $45, 000. What about the running cost of the procedure? You don't go to India only to come back and start asking for help again. At least, I need some money to maintain myself for the next one year. So when you factor in all these costs, add air tickets and lodging, you will appreciate what we are talking about.

Eucharia Anunobi explains why she's no longer on the social scene

Posted: 03 Jul 2013 02:26 AM PDT

"Eucharia, why have you not been seen much lately? On the pages of newspapers, magazines, events and so on?" The actress and evangelist asked herself on Facebook yesterday. Below is her answer...
I actually thought about the best way to handle the question, so as not to sound proud or immodest, and these were my honest answers.
Ma'am, thanks for looking out for me, but let me state categorically, that I Eucharia Anunobi, now Evangelist, have moved from the things don't matter, to the thing that matters more, which is the work of my Father, who created me and made me an instant STAR, when I least expected it in my life.
I would never want to be remembered as someone who graced all the front pages of all the Newspapers and News Magazines in the world and did not contribute to the leading of people towards heaven.

Of a truth, you will agree with me that the job that will be rewarded by God Himself is that of SOUL-WINNING?

So, why waste my fame, money, life, face, time, speaking ability to do the things that will never be rewarded?

I would never wish to be remembered as one lady who covered or graced all the front-pages, or a fashionistar, or a fashion icon, or one with the best gown at the red carpet event, designed and clothed by the best hands in the world, with the best hair-style or make-up.

Surely, these things are good and beautiful, but they will never earn anyone a single mark before the presence of God.

The content of my character and my contributions to humanity through the preaching of God's Word (for which I was originally created for) are what I wish to speak for me when my accounts and records are opened in heaven.

And I would love to hear that sweet word from the throne of grace saying, welcome my faithful servant, enter into the rest prepared for you.

Then, my joy will be full while others continue to relish the pleasures of this world.

Her Imperial Majesty, Patience Jonathan And The Rest Of Us

"If you want to know what God thinks about money (and power), just look at the people He gave it to." Dorothy Parker – Writer/Poet
It was one of those days you wished you were not a Nigerian. But if you were, you certainly would not fancy having Lagos as a place of residence...

Lest those in the patriotic ilk demand my head on a platter, I suggest them primo interview motorists/ commuters caught in the gridlock. It was a flurry scene; horns hooting ceaselessly as anger grew by the minute. The sun cares less, clutching its pride of place; its light was appreciated but not the heat-awfully unbearable. Street traders had a stupendous day, getting good bargains and making instantaneous sales, the type only dreams are made of.

The young-some underage-hustlers savoured the while, at different times playing with one another; chatting and laughing aloud; luck had smiled on them. For a bit, I forgot I was supposed to be exasperated; taking in lieu a deserved break gazing at the boys. It was a free live entertainment albeit in the harshest of conditions. I was not only the member of audience, as they attracted the attention of many others. Their sight revived the thought of the unending misfortunes of our impoverished youths. In perpetuum, they delve the gains of the much publicized Transformation Agenda. I sympathize with them; graduates are yet employed, much less school dropouts/illiterates.

Save for occasional natural occurrences like rain and ocean surge, which was recorded many years ago, it was the first time I witnessed a sea of people trapped in a traffic jam later confirmed lasted about nine hours (8:30am-5:30pm). One wonders the plight of those who had an emergency situation, appointment or a deadline. A caller on a radio programme narrated how he and colleagues were robbed that night by men who posed as police officers. We should not tag only the days we see or hear of road mishaps, violent disturbances, fire disasters, terror attacks as "black days", some other days are worthy of such label. It is pathetic that the good people of Lagos who queued patiently, orderly, ignoring the scorching sun to cast their ballots for Mr. President were at the receiving end of the snarl precipitated by his wife, Patience Jonathan. I am sure the reader would have noticed that I did not use the "First Lady" appendage. It was deliberate. If I did, the anger I am may set my immediate environment ablaze; a situation one certainly forbids especially in a country where the fire service is near torpid.

That elected/appointed government officials every now and then deny us right-of-way is more than enough trauma to deal with. Now that their spouses have entered a "We block more roads than our Husband" tournament, the rest of our can as well begin to compose suicide notes. Nowadays, one thing I have observed is that more women are excited when their partners signify interest in elective posts and the reason is not implausible. The influence wives of Their Excellencies wield these days is in no small measure intimidating. You would be swimming in a pool of stupidity, if you took a bet with your life-savings that these emperors are down-to-earth; it will only take a few hours before you say hello to bankruptcy. African women in corridors of power are widely known for their habitual arrogance and luxury tastes.

A shipshape example is Leila Ben Ali, wife of ousted Tunisian president. Dubbed 'the Imelda Marcos of the Arab world', the former hairdresser held sway while her husband reigned, importing expensive foods and ice-cream. Obsessed with mansions, fast cars, shopping sprees in Paris and Dubai, she was reported to have fled with gold bullion worth $60m! Evidently, what a man can do… With all sincerity, I am yet to comprehend what Mrs. Jonathan's sojourn to Lagos was about. We are made to understand it was a "Thank you visit" and launch of her peace advocacy initiative. As not so good as that sounds, let me attempt to put the theme into perspective. In the 2011 presidential elections, her husband got over a million votes in the most populous state of the federation, but the event in query was held at a venue of two thousand (thereabout) capacity.

And in actual sense, about a quarter of the attendees were part of her entourage from Abuja and other states. On that account, it is safe to say she said 'Thank you' to around one thousand six hundred people representing 0.1 percent of those whose votes propelled her husband into office. Her handlers and co-travelers should know better. What they organized was nothing but a glorified charade. Before they rejoice too long thinking they took us on a jolly ride, may I inform them that gathering a rented crowd in a refined event centre with the entire media buzz is an affront on Lagosians. I even saw her distribute gifts to paltry handpicked women. Soon they will announce that the items were donated by 'Committee of Friends' or an international donor agency.

I laughed in Awori (my native language) when a friend apprised he heard that our overall madam's visits is scheduled to take place nationwide. Nonsense! At a time we ought to devote time, energy and resources so as to ensure vision 2020-20 is met, some folks are going about having jamboree on state funds! Although Mrs. Jonathan's intention is commendable, I think her peace campaign is at the moment exigently needed in the north part of the country where blood-letting has continued unabated. I am sure that by now, the people of that divide must be envious of the south-west region as the Lagos stop-by was sequel to the one held at Oyo state two months ago. That too was anything but decent.

During her stay there, overzealous security operatives were at their usual worst. At the entrance of the venue, they once again displayed an obvious lack of crowd control mastery, mistreating high-ranking state officials, invited dignitaries and accredited journalists. What madness! Is this all in the name of protecting the wife of the Commander-in-Chief? My mother too deserves such security as she campaigned for GEJ in our village and he won resoundingly there. It is completely repugnant that scholars and professionals are brazenly assaulted, embarrassed by a set of persons who may not be able to complete a simple sentence and till date no one has taken responsibility or apologized. Like one of my favorites trend on twitter puts it that is "#HowToKnowGodisPunishingYou".

But we should not stop talking about it. All citizens must be treated fairly. Even in our different religions, the teaching is that everyone is equal in the sight of the Great One above. Anarchy looms the moment a class of people in the society flagrantly subjugate others even in a sovereign nation like ours. We have to realize that power fades and as such we should do unto others what is right. Accountability in governance must be prioritized so that the outside world would seize to pore over us frivolously. Wives of public officials ought to know/be reminded that their major responsibility is taking care of the home front while offering sound advice and support where necessary.

But if they are keen on enjoying the paraphernalia of office attached to their respective husbands, they should endeavour to legalize it by sending a bill to the National Assembly for consideration and then push that it becomes a law. Pending when that happens, they should kindly spare us the executive lawlessness please!

AfroCandy Goes Mad; Asks People To Send Her Nude Photos For Movie Audition

Posted: 03 Jul 2013 02:14 AM PDT

I'm beginning to believe that this woman, Afro Candy, is out to further corrupt what is left of the moral values of our youths. While many are already complaining of the negative impact of her movie that was shot outside the country, she has now come home to ask out youths to do bad things:
Afro Candy released a statement, saying people, especially young guys, should send her photos of their sex organs as part of an audition for another porn movie.

What is the matter with Afro Candy? Is she out to destroy our youths?

Gospel Singer Tope Alabi In Sex Scandal With Her Pastor

Posted: 03 Jul 2013 02:03 AM PDT

Leading yoruba gospel singer, Tope Alabi has been having a messy fight with her spiritual leader, Prophet Iretiola Ajanaku for months now. But another twist has been added to the saga.

Prophet Ajanaku has made a shocking revelation about the respected Tope Alabi when talking with Biodun Kupoluyi. The popular prophet said his trouble with Tope Alabi started because of sex:

Can you clear the air on the claim by Tope Alabi that she met you [just] 6 years?
She actually met me 11 years ago when she came to church crying that since she married she had no child. I told her that by the grace of God when we shall be holding another anniversary she sill come and dedicate her child before God. I have pictures of the child dedication, I christened the child Deborah.
There are many things concerning her and the husband that I will never tell anyone, never ever. If she had not said that she met me only six years ago, I would not have called you to show all these pictures. And if I say what God has used me to do in their lives, with proofs and medical test records in their hands, they will be ashamed of themselves.

But I will like you to share it with us to put records straight?
I'm wondering if she's being foolish or just stupid. I remember when she was putting pressure on me to have sex with her. She did not hide her urge to have sexual relationship with me. At a point she could not control her urge to do that but I declined, I said never, not me. Ask these people here (in chorus, the members seated confirmed his claim).

Anyway, Tope Alabi and her husband, Soji, are denying the Prophet's allegations.
