Mugabe To Obama: ''Are You Born out of Homoséxuality?'

Posted: 27 Jul 2013 11:04 AM PDT

Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe railed against President Obama during a recent campaign rally, arguing that the U.S. president wanted to force Africa to "embrace homoséxuality."
The African leader often criticizes homoséxuality or other perceived enemies to gin up populist support, but the turn against Obama included a new comment.
"Then we have this American president, Obama, born of an African father, who is saying we will not give you aid if you don't embrace homoséxuality," Mugabe said.
"We ask, was he born out of homosexuality? We need continuity in our race, and that comes from the woman, and no to homoséxuality. John and John, no. Maria and Maria, no."
He then broke briefly into Shona, a native Zimbabwean language, before concluding, it's not clear about whom, ""f they don't, we will cut their heads off."
Mugabe also reiterated his oft-repeated comparison between homoséxuals and pigs.
"They are worse than dogs and pigs, yes worse than dogs and pigs," he said. "I keep pigs and the male pig knows the female one."
Parts of the speech, including some of the swipe at Obama, were independently reported in the Zimbabwean outlet NewsDay.
Mugabe is facing reelection on July 31. It's the country's first presidential vote since a violence-ridden 2008 election that was met with such international outcry that Mugabe was forced to accept a power-sharing arrangement with one of his rivals, though he has appeared to largely maintain power.
Mugabe has run Zimbabwe since 1980 and is now 89 years old but shows no signs of ceding power willingly.
Attitudes toward homoséxuality are negative in much of sub-Saharan Africa, where homophobia is often used by populist leaders looking for an easy enemy or a way to divert from tougher issues.
The Obama administration's plan to support gay rights in Africa has at times been met with a backlash and a belief among some that the United States wishes to impose homoséxuality on Africans.
Just for good measure, Mugabe also criticized Britain, which he called, in an almost word-for-word reproduction of long-held North Korean propaganda tropes, "a very cold, uninhabitable country with small houses

Seven Good Manners Every Girl Should Have

Posted: 27 Jul 2013 10:45 AM PDT

Most girls know this is a manner that we need to have, but it still has to be said. Saying please when requesting something and thank you upon receiving anything, even if it is just an answer to a question, is crucial to having manners.

Being from the South, manners have been genetically instilled in me since birth. Don't get me wrong, all Southerners do not have manners, but manners are still pretty much prized as being the ultimate quality to have, especially for a woman, around here. Certain manners can enhance your relationships, help you meet people, snag a new job you want, maintain a good professional demeanor, help you meet a man, make you more generous, keep you humble, and enhance your social skills. Read on to find my 7 favorites and do share yours with me, pretty please!

1. Always Offer A Handshake
In the germophobic world we live in, no one seems to want to shake hands anymore, but offering your handshake is one of the most important manners every girl should have. I can't tell you the number of times I've met someone new and they seem a little hesitant towards me, or shy. I immediately offer my hand out to them and tell them how glad I am to meet them. This breaks down a barrier between you and strangers, and lets them know you're friendly. It also loosens you up and makes it easier to meet others each time you do it. If someone refuses to shake your hand, don't take it personally. They simply might have a germ issue, and in that case, just put down your hand and give them a smile. This manner is especially important on a job interview, where I always offer a handshake to the person interviewing me. It suggests confidence, which is priceless in the work field.

2. Always Say Ma'am Or Sir
I don't care if someone is the same age as you or not, or even if they are younger. Anyone who is your employer, teacher, leader, mentor, co-worker, etc. should be called ma'am and sir out of respect. Trust me, they'll probably tell you that you don't have to call them that, but it still implies you are kind, respectful and courteous. Just say it and thank me later.

3. Always Say Please And Thank You
Most girls know this is a manner that we need to have, but it still has to be said. Saying please when requesting something and thank you upon receiving anything, even if it is just an answer to a question, is crucial to having manners. Do this with anyone, not just someone above you.

4. Open Doors For Others
Unless you're on a date, it is a great idea to open doors for other people when out in public. Never open your date's door for him though, that's his job! Opening doors for other people signals that you're courteous, kind and aware of others. It is also one of the best hospitality gestures you can offer others. You don't have to be the bellhop and hold it open for everyone; one person will do!

5. Smile
One overlooked manner every girl should have is to smile. Smile at strangers, school mates, and co-workers whenever you get the chance. A simple smile and "Hey, how are you?" will get you further along in developing relationships, meeting people, maintaining a good work relationship, and generally make you seem happier and easier to talk to. Plus, a smile is the prettiest thing you could ever wear!

6. Sit Like A Lady
This might sound old fashioned, but it's true! When you're out in public at an event or on a date, cross your legs, or at least your ankles. Don't slouch in your chair with your legs hanging out in front of you, but instead, sit up straight and maintain a good ladylike position. You don't need to look stiff like you're at a tea party, but simply sit up tall with good posture and gently crossed legs or ankles. This manner will help you seem professional, feminine, graceful and classy.

7. Don't Curse
For the love of being a lady, stop cursing! Unless you're at home alone and just broke that glass dish your mom gave you for Christmas, of course! Then it's okay since you're alone! Seriously though, don't make a habit of cursing, especially around guys. They want to date someone who is a lady, not a potty mouth. Cursing is also a big no no on the job. Employers don't want their employees having bad language or it might influence their company's image. Having good manners doesn't just equate to wiping your mouth at the dinner table, though that is a great manner to practice. These simple, yet effective manners are actions every girl can and should take, to maintain a ladylike, professional and classy appearance. After all, we are girls so let's act like one! What is an important manner you were taught to have?

DRAMA: How Fathia Balogun & Iyabo Ojo Almost Destroyed Toyin Aimakhu’s Marriage

Posted: 27 Jul 2013 10:28 AM PDT

There was said to be a mild drama between two actresses, Iyabo Ojo and Fathia Balogun during one of their colleagues, Toyin Aimakhu's wedding.

If not for the prompt intervention of some colleagues in the movie industry, the low-keyed but highly hyped wedding of Nollywood actress, Toyin Aimakhu to his Tinsel actor husband, Niyi Johnson would have been marred by drama.

This is because Fathia Balogun and Iyabo Ojo nearly disrupted the ceremony with a fight. If you think a man might be the cause of the brouhaha, then you are very far from the 411.

As we reliably learnt from eye witnesses, seniority claims led to the rise of their adrenalins.
It was gathered that Fathia Balogun first got to the event held on Monday, July 8, 2013 at Sabitex Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, after the marriage registry at the Ikoyi Registry, before Iyabo Ojo got there. It was while Iyabo was greeting her colleagues that trouble started, which led to a hot exchange of words between the two stars.

Those who claimed to be at the event said when Iyabo got to where Fathia was sitting, she allegedly called the former wife of Saidi Balogun by her name, which angered Fathia. She was said to have told others at the event to warn Iyabo from calling her by her name if she cannot add the prefix 'aunty' to her name as a sign of respect in Yoruba land.

Iyabo didn't take this lightly with Fathia, who reportedly insisted on knowing what Fathia would do is she refuses to add the prefix to her name. The two were almost throwing punches at each other but for the quick intervention of their colleagues.

The fight for the 'aunty' prefix is not new in the industry. Lizzy Anjorin and Iyabo only settled their bitter fight of many years because of the same reason.

Efforts to speak with Iyabo Ojo on this issue proved abortive, as her PA picked and claimed she is on set. But  upon insisting the actress' aide declined to give her the phone for us to talk to her on this story.

I Prayed For A Man Who Will Love Me And Understand Me And I Got My Wish- Foluke Daramola

Posted: 27 Jul 2013 10:02 AM PDT

Most of you know the story. Mr Kayode Salako was once married, but Foluke said she never met his wife with him, that she moved out before she moved in. The woman also spoke and said she has left Foluke and her husband for God to be the judge. A lot of people have said Foluke married him for money, but the actress in this interview with Hazeez Mojo said if she had married him for money, she wouldn't be where she is right now. To Foluke she prayed for the man she got.

Part of the interview after the cut;

Since you got married, you hardly talk about your new status. Why?
Well, I thank God. I did not plan for it. I had told myself that I was out of it, and I was done with it. It just happened. I am happy with my husband. I thank God that I have a man that understands me and has taken me for who I am. He is someone who tells me to keep giving my best. He gives me a lot of push.

Many say the marriage is that of convenience, and it's all about the money. What is your reaction to this?

It is not at all about material things. In fact, if it is about material things, I would not be in this marriage; I will be somewhere else. What I need and prayed to God for is a man who will love me and understand me, and I got my wish.

Are you planning to have children with your new husband?

Oh sure. Children are the joy of every marriage and we definitely look forward to having children together.

Are you sometimes scared that this one might end up like the first?
That I believe is not a possibility. We are attracted emotionally to each other, and we both have a spiritual connection, which we didn't hesitate to find out all the way. My mum went out to pray about it with men of God. I also went out to pray and fasted over it. He had a past; I have mine, so the two of us coming together is like we don't have a choice than to make it work for both of us. If you have noticed, both our families, all the family members were involved, which is unusual. Normally, you find one or two family members saying one thing or the other, but in this case, everybody, my father-in-law, my brothers, my brothers and sisters-in-law, everybody, including my uncle and parents were positive. So, at the end of the day, you find that God is actually telling us something. So, I needed that spiritual conviction.

The first time, not that I didn't need the spiritual conviction, but then I wasn't in a hurry, everything people told me was like let us do it. But when I was about getting married, I had this strong heartbeat, it was very strong, but I looked at it and said maybe it's maturity and I know it is maturity. I guess it's just peace of mind. There is a difference between infatuation and love and this you may not know when you are young. Now, I know am in love with the right person, and my mind is at peace. We have our fights, we have our quarrels, but we understand we are both in something that has to work.

Photos That Proves That Denrele Is A Gay

Posted: 27 Jul 2013 06:11 AM PDT

Due to his feminine and flamboyant nature, a lot of people have wondered if he is indeed homosexual. He addresses the rumors below; Is Derenle Gay? "I think people believe what they want to believe. But a lot of people believe you are. And to prove them right, a picture of you Charley Boy went viral on the internet recently… I don't read the news, I make the news.

The thing is people tend to look for loopholes when they see you doing well. And since people feel I'm feminine in nature, then they think I'm gay. But the truth is I don't really care about what people say because I'm not fashioned according to what the society expects. And also I think for my personality, if I were gay, the news would have grown from speculations and would have been in people's face. On the part of Charley Boy and me, I was not expecting the paparazzi that came with the picture. So what was the picture about then? I really don't want to go into details, but it could have been a controversial agenda, it could have a been a publicity stunt, it could have been the real deal and it could have been Photoshopped, but whatever it was, people should just go ahead and make their conclusions. So why is Denrele still single? I'm a hustler and I'm still trying to get myself together. When the time comes, I'll get married definitely, but there's no one in the picture now. I'm searching and ready to mingle. Who is your ideal woman? "I like someone who would not try to change me and who would understand the complexity that I am. I want someone simple and absolutely free and not intimidated by what I represent." It will probably be interesting to know that he did not out-rightly deny being gay, and he avoided pronouns when replying the question regarding his ideal "woman". Anyway, check out the infamous pictures of him and Charly Boy.

17 Children Rescued From Child Traffickers

Posted: 27 Jul 2013 06:02 AM PDT

                                                              The rescued Children
From Vanguard

The Benue state Police Command has rescued 17 under aged children from a suspected child trafficking syndicate who specialized in picking children from Benue and neighboring states for distribution to yet to be identified persons in Lagos, Abeokuta and Ibadan.

Also arrested by the command, were eight members of the gang who were nabbed along Otukpo-Enugu while conveying their victims to unknown persons around the country.

Parading the suspects and victims at the state command Headquarters in Makurdi, Benue state capital, Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adams Audu   said "few days ago, my men on stop and search duty along Otukpo-Enugu road intercepted three mini buses loaded with 55 persons among them 17 children of ages between five to seventeen.

"Among them were ten boys and seven girls and upon interrogation, the suspects confessed that they were taking the children to Lagos, Abeokuta and Ibadan.

The suspects confessed to have taken the children away from their parents at Oju in Benue state and Yala in Cross River state and they were to be given out to strangers who subject them to child labour, prostitution and hawking in return for money for both parents and the suspects who take the trade as their means of livelihood."

The Commissioner of Police also sued for assistance of the public in its bid to apprehend the fleeing members of another child trafficking syndicate who recruit medically deformed children for begging and prostitution along streets in major towns in the country.

He said, " Tyotyev Tarchill and Tyodoo Yamuer were liaison of the child trafficking syndicate in Benue state who collude with parents to send out their children for begging and prostitution in urban cities.

He said, the Police in Lagos in collaboration with an NGO of the former Inspector General of Police, "Hands that Care Foundation" arrested the victims and suspects led by one Chigozie Amechi, who operates from Lagos and Port Harcourt with links to other suspects in Benue state.

Mr. Audu said he has ordered full scale investigations into the matters pleading for cooperation with members of the public in its constitutional responsibilities of protecting the lives and property of the people of the state.

How To Make Love To One Spouse For The Rest Of Your Life

Posted: 27 Jul 2013 05:56 AM PDT

A desired marriage is not complete without adequate plan for better and fulfilled sex life. It remains a potent tool to forge lasting relationships among couples and a good one, no doubt, will certainly help prepare you to face challenges in marriage.
For couples whose sex life has taken a dip, they can still make love for the rest of their life and still love it. The major tool is rediscovering opportunities to revive the magic that once kept your hearts fluttering with joy. The funny update is that great sex is still attainable...

Think of how you can make it hot; don't undermine the fact that the hotter the passion, the better it is. There are different ways to tell your partner how much you enjoy sleeping with him or her. Sometimes, the way you talk about it or demand for it; the way you respond to your partner's advances or the things you do to your body in order to look good, could go a long way into keeping the passion in your relationship hot and sizzling.
When there is a mutual desire to jump into each other's arms, couple would always be willing to go the extra mile to have best of it. Flirting with your spouse will spice up your desire. If you are the wife, you should form a habit of flirting with your husband at all the time. When you put on your alluring airs, you are indirectly telling your husband that you are always interested in his sexual prowess; men often react positively to this kind of attitude.

The looks you give your spouse speaks volumes and seductive glances generate sexual energy. Seductive attire, dressing to kill get your husband fired up sexually, even though he may pretend initially not to notice. Any woman that is serious about making love to the same man for the rest of her life and still love it ought to keep a sexy kit handy and make sure that all the items are available anytime, anywhere and at strategic points in the car, kitchen, and bedsides.

Men are habitually under sexual pressure; it does not matter whether you are newlywed, nursing mother, or menopausal bride. What matters is that you must treat the nuptial bed like a bona fide business or make it one. You can even be a little mysterious sexually. The fact is that if a wife arouses her husband's curiosity, it is guaranteed that the man will always be back against all odds. Statistically, an average man gets bored easily sexually. Voice your sexual fantasy and experiment it on him.

Husbands, turn your wife into your idea 'girl'. Men have a catalogue of sexual imaginations and the best way to relive these scenarios is to share it with their wives. Ask your wife of the possibilities of experimentation with good dividend. Experts say all living beings have sexual fantasies, in which an individual imagines himself enjoying erotic moments with his or her spouse in strange places at strange times with strange posture and positions. Sharing sexual fantasies with your partner is a way of heightening and intensifying erotic potential by showing your spouse possibilities that he or she has never considered before. In turn, this will open the door to a lifetime of sexual ecstasy.

Most times, spouses underestimate how powerful they become if they can fulfil their partner's unrequited fantasy. The point is that if your partner has been dreaming about something all of his/her life and then you help make it a reality for him, the chances are that you will definitely inspire him to display incredible loyalty and devotion to you. The advantage of these fantasies is that they give room to assertiveness, unpredictability and an impulsiveness that creates fun, excitement and expectations; which in turn eliminates boredom. Before you know it, you are actually making love to the same spouse and loving it.

Make giving your spouse great sex a priority. This is like pledging your eternal allegiance to him or her. Although most men dislike longish foreplay, when you are aware of the fact that control is essential during lovemaking and that most women think wonderful sex should be full of slow foreplay, you just got yourself a sex life partner. Remember that the best sex lasts between thirteen and twenty five minutes. According to a study published in a journal, medical researchers who surveyed people bedroom preferences says two to five minutes is too short, seven to twenty minutes is acceptable and 30 minutes and above may be unattainable by some.

Nigerians in Kenya Protest Police Harrasment and Intimidation

Posted: 27 Jul 2013 05:34 AM PDT

Below is a letter written by Nigerians living in Kenya highlighting the harassment they face in the hands of police.
The harassment has taken a xenophobic dimension,  Just 2 days ago a Nigerian with Valid passport and entry Visa to Kenya was stopped by plain clothes policemen, when they requested for his passport, he promptly presented it to them. The passport was immediately seized and he was asked to to leave Kenya, as Nigerians only come to Kenya to take their woman, he resisted and insisted that he committed no offense, he was immediately attacked and beaten to a pulp and he was bleeding profusely.
The took him to the station and the OCS was so alarmed that he almost got physical with the policemen and insisted the paid for the guys treatment. He has taken pictures and also copies of his statement and dropped at the embassy.

3 days ago, 27 Nigerians were refused entry without Valid reasons yet we have a protocol of giving Visa's on entry by both countries Embassy officials who visited the Nigerians in jails broke down in
tears when the found out that they were not only innocent but that they were tortured and brutalized .

The Nigerian community has also met with leading politicians in Kenya who insist that our Ambassador has not only failed to do his Job, and that if we remain silent about this harassment that it will only get worse.

This case is only one of the many cases that is going on in Kenya.

We as an organization cannot afford to publish this letter on the pages of the Newspapers in Nigeria, but we are appealing and counting on your good graces to help us make our plight known.

Chidi Llyod Blindfolded, Being Tortured by Police; Says Lawyer

Posted: 27 Jul 2013 05:23 AM PDT

Detained Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Mr Chidi Lloyd is undergoing a regime of torture in police custody, his counsel, Mr. Beluolisa Nwaofor (SAN) has cried out.
"This is not only condemnable but regrettable. Rivers State Police Command under Mbu seems not to be bothered by the fact that any evidence that is obtained by force, torture, intimidation or by any form of abuse is not admissible in the court of law, and this is unfortunate."
Chidi Llyod has since been facing a panel of police interrogators and was flown to Port Harcourt on Friday ostensibly for the commencement of his trial and the hearing of the suit he filed to restrain the police from inviting and arresting him.

The day ended without the police arraigning him in court or the suit being heard, his lawyers, friends and associates having waited for several hours in court.

He told the state High Court, presided over by Justice Esor Teetito, which is hearing Lloyd's suit that the continued blindfolding and detention of his client is dangerous to his health and life.

He appealed to the court to make an interim order for his release pending the hearing of the motions before the court. Mr. Nwaofor wondered why the police failed to bring Lloyd to court on the suit filed by him.

His words: "The applicant was brought from Abuja this morning (Friday) by the police blindfolded and now being detained at the Police Officers' Mess here in Port Harcourt.

"Based on the rules governing fundamental human rights, the court should make an interim order for his temporary release pending the decision on the suit. This is necessary because the safety of my client cannot be guaranteed in the hands of the police.
You are aware of what is happening now. Anything can happen before next week."

A member of Lloyd's legal team, Mr. Emenike Ebete, who accompanied the detainee to Port Harcourt from Abuja threw light on Lloyd's ordeal.

Speaking to reporters at the end of the court's sitting, Mr. Ebete said: "We reported to the IGP on Tuesday. We held a meeting with the IG and the DIG. My client, Chidi Lloyd, turned himself over to the police at the Force Headquarters.

"They treated us with respect. We were with them for about four days, and they did their investigation. Late yesterday (Thursday) we were told that he would be charged to court this morning (Friday) and we left Abuja as early as 7am. By 8.45am, we landed at the Air Force base, Port Harcourt.

"Thereafter, there was a signal that the place was not safe, and that we should hold on. That was when I started smelling rat.We waited for over two hours, after which we were asked to go.

"Over 500 policemen in their Hilux vehicles and Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC) were all over the place. At a point when we started moving, we stopped for over 30 minutes; they said they were waiting for another vehicle.

"At the end of the day, we got to the office of the state Commissioner of Police, Mbu J. Mbu. My client emerged from the Black Maria. He was brought in with a black blindfold, as if he is a common criminal. He walked into the CP's office, and they spent about three minutes. The CP then drove off to where God knows.

"Later we went to the Police Officers' Mess where we were waiting for his charge sheet to be prepared, so he could be brought to court. Since 12noon, we have been waiting. Till now, that charge has not been filed.

"What that means is that they are going to keep him there throughout the weekend. I am not even sure if they will even charge him to court on Monday.

"What that means now is that he will remain in their custody, exposed to all sorts of inhuman treatment. His life is even in danger. We are not sure if he is going to survive because this place is not safe for him.

"I am calling on everybody to know that our client (Chidi Lloyd) is in the hands of Rivers State Police Command unsafe.

"We brought him from Abuja to be charged today (Friday); his charges are ready. The prosecutor came with us from Abuja. Uptill now 5:10pm, the charge has not been filed.

"I smell rat, not from the Force Headquarters, but here in Rivers State Command.

"We are calling on Rivers people to know that this is what is happening in the state now. If tomorrow Chidi Lloyd is no more there, the police should be held responsible.

"Abuja Headquarters treated him with respect; he was never brutalized there. It was only when we came here that the whole event changed."

Asked why the police chose to focus on Lloyd, Ebete said:
"In the entire fracas, he was the only person invited, and he appeared there (Force Headquarters) and made his statement.

"What happened there at the House is a bailable offence; it is simple assault which the police could even grant bail at the station. Why is it that this one is generating a lot of tension? It is not murder. So why is it that his own is different more so when it happened on the floor of the House?"

The judge has adjourned the matter till August 6 for ruling on the two motions before it.

The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), Hon. Dakuku Peterside, has condemned the alleged torture by the police in Rivers State of Lloyd.

Hon Peterside claimed that the detainee "has been consistently abused by hitting, battering, pushing, kicking, handcuffing and uttering of obscenities, thereby demeaning him all in a bid to coerce and compel him to obtain an involuntary extra-judicial confessional statement.

"This torture sadly is taking place at the Rivers State Police Command.

"For the records, let us state that section 34(1)(a) of the 1999 Constitution, as amended, prohibits this crude and barbaric conduct of Commissioner of Police of Rivers State as every citizen of this country is entitled to respect for his human dignity and Mbu does not have unbridled power to deprive any citizen of this constitutionally guaranteed right, especially in a democracy."
