The new Prince waves at the crowd
First appearance ... Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with Prince of Cambridge
Royal baby Prince Cambridge emerged from the London hospital where he was born yesterday in the arms of his mother, Kate  as they left for home today.
The excited parents just couldn't hide their joy.
And here's what the proud new daddy had to say about his baby:
He's quite heavy - we're still working on names. He has a good pair of lungs that's for sure. He's a big boy! He's got her lips thankfully."
On his son arriving past his due date, Prince Williams said:
"I'll remind him of his tardiness when he's a bit older"

BBA Agent Attacks Charles Novia For Criticizing Beverly Osu

Posted: 24 Jul 2013 05:18 AM PDT

Someone who claims to be a fan of BBA but sounded more like an agent of the show has lambasted Charles Novia, popular Nollywood producer for his take on Beverly Osu's acts in the House.

Below is the "agents" strongly worded message to Charles Novia:
Ok seriously this Beverly and Angelo hook up has caused a nationwide raucous!!! To the extent that a certain so called "Prominent citizen" in the Nigerian entertainment industry felt the need to add his 2 kobo worth of opinion on the matter.

Bloggers have been posting an article by Nigerian's umm " actor/director/producer/executive producer/screen writer/ location manager/Husband/ Father/ possibly Grandfather to name a few (dodges bullets) named Charles Novia. In this article Uncle Charles (in a bid to be polite) states that South Africa has "FINGER3D and SUB-R^PED" Nigeria.

My issue with this statement is that it is a "Flammable" statement. You should know better and not use words like "R^PE" in such a context. One major underlying factor of BBA is to "UNITE AFRICA" whereby various African countries live together under one roof and get to know each though in competition with one another. Please Uncle Charles we mere BBA fanatics dare you to come up with a captivating show uniting Africa where no country will run the risk of being 'FINGER3D' by another country.

It is sad to note that Narrow minded Old Folks like you are the reason why most African Countries are still backward in terms of Development and Liberty. Yes Africans go on and on about how we fought for FREEDOM from the WHITE MAN but the question still remains how are we going to fight for FREEDOM FROM OURSELVES??? Please answer if you can.
BBA is a show that Majority of Africa has embraced and is here to stay in terms of entertainment. In your bid to reinvent yourself in the entertainment industry please go about it in a classy way and not cheaply rubbing off from others publicity. This STUNT of yours has RUN its course so let it be.

In conclusion, live your life as you see fit and leave others to do the same. Good night.

CCTV Cameras Caught This Popular Ghanian Actress Stealing In London

Posted: 24 Jul 2013 05:11 AM PDT

Popular Ghana-based actress Emelia Brobbey has been arrested for stealing bracelet jewelry while shopping during her vacation in London, sources say.

The actress who was unaware of the security camera at the store stole the bracelet but as she was exiting the store, a beep alerted the people around her.

Guys on the security camera who have been monitoring her movements came out to ensure her arrest. Police officials were called in and she was asked to provide her address.

The actress gave the police the address of her host, fellow actress Gloria Agyeman. Consequently, a raid was thus carried out on the home of the 'thief' actress's host, Gloria.

The raid led to the arrest of another Ghanian actress Eunice Akua Adjeiwaa who had overstayed her time in the United Kingdom and was hanging around illegally.

Olokunbolablessing.blogspot.Com gathered that actress Emelia Brobbey is being processed for deportation back to Ghana.

How Omotola Survived 17 Years Of Marriage As A Celebrity

Posted: 23 Jul 2013 12:39 PM PDT

omotola
You will agree with me that its not easy for any celebrity in any part of this world to remain in a man's house as his wife for over a decade without divorce! You will also node to the fact that it's not Akara for a Nollywood actress' marriage to survive the constant media stabbing pierced into their private lives every time!

The likes of Kate Henshaw, Shan George, Eucharia Anunobi, Monalisa Chinda, Frank Edoho, Ara the drummer, Saheed and Fathia Balogun, Funke Akindele etc are breathing examples of how easy it is to jump out of your matrimonial home and how hard it is to keep a home in "Celebrity Land".
This is a society where marriage is treated as a sacred thing, when a woman is seen freely socialising with men, what greets it is a frowned face. But Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has successfully pushed through all the hurdles and still stands firm as a married woman.
This singular achievement has made her more respected and loved by millions! But what really has kept her marriage so far?
I have taken time to look at this and this is what I found out: As a journalist, I have interviewed both Omotola and her husband, Capt. Mathew Ekeinde. "If I see Omotola with seven men in a bedroom, I won't be moved because I trust my wife" that was what Capt. Ekeinde told me when I asked how much he trusts his wife.
Then I asked another question: it is believed that men who behave like that are also sleeping around; "Well I don't sleep around" he affirmed. So with this, it is obvious that one of the factors helping Omotola's marriage is her husband's blind trust in her.
Secondly, I believe that the fact that Omotola was married before Nollywood helped her so much. As a mother with grown kids, you don't mess around and if you do, you park your shit neatly! Even if Omotola or a hubby at a point wanted out of the union, because of the children, they would have had a rethink!
Thirdly, Omotola has just been extremely lucky! With the kind of negative media she has had in her career, Omotola's marriage should have crashed into Olumo Rock several years ago! Its not that she is the Saint of Nollywood!
No, in fact, she has been allegedly linked in several sex scandals with top Nollywood big boys like Tchidi Chikere, Richard Mofe Damijo and co but God has kept her going. The kind of scandals she has encountered should have shattered any marriage in the world beyond repair! Yet @Realomosexy still crosses her legs on the royal throne of Mrs. Ekeinde.
The cliché has been "behind every successful man there is a woman", in this case, it is wise to say "behind Omotola's successful marriage there are, a trusting husband and God's grace! Gbam!

Woman Gives Birth In Kirikiri Prison

Posted: 23 Jul 2013 12:26 PM PDT

A pregnant robbery accused, Alhaja Sherifat Ashabi Adeleke, has given birth to a baby boy in prison in Lagos, southwest Nigeria.  Sherifat was arrested recently by the operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Lagos Police Command, for her alleged roles in trans-border armed robbery operations.

The 35-year old suspect whose gang members usually operate from Cotonou, Republic of Benin, delivered her 3.7 kilogram baby at the police clinic recently.
The paraga (local herb laced with alcohol) seller who was arraigned with other members of her gang at the Ikeja Chief Magistrate's Court, Lagos, is now at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison Clinic with her new baby.
A prison source told our reporter that the mother and her child are doing very fine at the clinic where she's currently receiving post-natal care.

Sherifat was arrested along with three other members of the gang, Mathew Ineke, Samsudeen Giwa and Gbenga Oyedele.

It was alleged that apart from robbing people of cash and other valuable items, the gang also snatch posh vehicles, especially Toyota and Honda brands in Lagos and other neighbouring southwestern states and ferry them across the border for sale.

The suspects were subsequently arraigned in court for armed robbery, possession of firearms, conspiracy among others.

Sherifat, the mother of four children including a twin and a 16-year old daughter from her first marriage, was said to have admitted participating in two robbery operations with the gang before their arrest.

She alleged that it was her new husband, Gbenga Oduoye, who introduced her to armed robbery, adding that he impregnated her and the new baby was his.

In her statement to the police, she allegedly narrated how she joined the robbery gang: "It was last year that I joined the gang. We are a five-man gang. Godogbo is our leader and he has up to three other gangs that he also leads.

"I have participated in two armed robbery operations. The first one was at Ore town (Ondo State in southwest Nigeria), where they (their victims) were selling recharge cards.

I did not know how much recharge cards the gang snatched but I was given cards worth N100,000. "The second operation was at Iyana-Ilogbo, where the gang leader gave four of us N20,000 to share and I got N5,000 only."

She allegedly confessed to have been the one responsible for supplying arms and ammunition to members of her robbery gang.

Speaking further on her role in the operations she had participated in, she said: "I sell paraga and I am patronised mostly by bus drivers, conductors and touts. I usually supply locally made guns to the gang. I used to collect the guns from Alhaji Gani in Benin Republic.

"I hide the short guns in my hand bag to beat security anytime I am taking them to where my gang leader picks them up at Iyana-Ilogbo in Ogun State.

"My role when we want to rob or attack shops is that I will first go to a shop and pretend as if I want to buy something and as the shop keeper is trying to sell something to me, my gang members will strike and order the shop keeper at gun point to surrender all the money from the day's sales."

Minister of Tourism, Culture & Natural Orientation Speaks About Fascinating Nigeria Campaign

Posted: 23 Jul 2013 12:09 PM PDT

For years, Nigeria as a nation has under-utilized – if not outright ignored – its tourism potential by doing little to preserve and promote its rich cultural heritage, alongside all the God-given natural gifts that abound in Africa's most populous nation. The Fascinating Nigeria initiative aims to check and correct this past negligence with an aim to improve, sustain and amplify the country's tourism culture. To shed some light on the initiative, Chief Edem Duke, the Honorable Minister of Tourism, Culture and Natural Orientation, graciously granted this quick but thorough interview from the departure lounge of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos. Read below.

What is the Fascinating Nigeria project really all about?

Fascinating Nigeria is the new way of communicating the tourism brand that Nigeria is offering to the world. It is an aggregation of all the cultural assets, all the tourism assets and all the definitive elements of our rich, cultural endowment. [It] is an expression of the creativity of every individual Nigerian; it is about the investment climate of Nigeria, which is the most profitable on the continent of Africa. [It] speaks to the very essence of the DNA of every Nigerian; the fact that we are a resilient people, we are very creative, we have dynamic enthusiasm, we are very forward looking, able to survive in all kinds of environments and we always take pride in our Nigerianness.

It is our belief that before now, Nigeria has been seen through a keyhole but in utilizing Fascinating Nigeria as a platform to tell the new and interesting stories of Nigeria, we open a big and wide door into, perhaps, one of the greatest countries on the face of the earth.

It all sounds very interesting but surely, you can understand the skepticism of Nigerians, as several initiatives are launched with no follow through. How is this different and what do we really have to offer from a tourist standpoint – Kenya has the Safari, for example – as business is the main reason foreigners visit Nigeria?
Business brings people into Nigeria because it is the most profitable business destination on the continent. But then, our potential to grow domestic tourism is even great. When you think of the fact that this is a country of over 167 million people, all we need to do is make our country more interesting, in the perspectives of each and every Nigerian and to attract diasporan Nigerians and diasporan Africans, that there is a new jewel in the crown of Africa and that we have taken ourselves too much for granted in the past. You talked about the Safari, fine, after the Safari, what else is there to talk about? But when you talk about Nigeria, you talk about 774 local government areas, each with a unique culture, each with a unique offering, each with a special set of people of unbelievable potentials. You speak about 36 states and a Federal Capital Territory, virtually like 37 countries all-in-one. You talk about a huge population of diasporans, who are contributing, in no small measure, in academia, business; in every sphere of life, maintaining peace all over the world. We're such a fascinating country. We need to instill a new sense of pride and self-esteem amongst our people. Every single Nigerian is fascinating and that is why this is the passion and this is a campaign for which [each of the] 167 plus-million Nigerians is an advocate.

There's a troubling belief in Nigeria that everything needs to be done by the government but I expect that for a project this big, there must be heavy private involvement, particularly in hospitality and aviation for example. What role is the private sector playing in making this initiative a success?

You know, everyone always finds comfort in government companies but government is supposed to give the enabling environment and polity, framework. But the theme, Fascinating Nigeria, speaks to you and I; it resonates with the core of every Nigerian. You could write a book about what makes you fascinating; you could write a book about what makes your city fascinating; what makes your village fascinating, what makes your school fascinating; what makes your own areas of interest fascinating; anything whatsoever! So it is out of the hands of government completely, well not completely but in the sense that, this is a platform that every Nigerian can deploy because we are a truly extraordinary and fascinating people.

Are there any particular drives – seminars, conferences etc. – in place right now to pluralize efforts, besides the internet, to help get the process going and people involved or informed, at least?

This is what led to the launch and because we are a unique people, we can take this and utilize it in very many positive ways: using our social networks, our peer groups, our social clubs, educational institutions, old boys' platforms; using every kind of relationship. You'll find that truly, truly, the most distinctive thing, the most appropriate thing, the easiest thing that comes to us is just being sheer fascinating people.

What, then, are the main challenges that stand before us?

The main challenge, to start with, is self-belief. We embarked on this initiative because of the leadership of the President who says he wants to see a transformation, meaning a radical departure from the past, the past where we had little or no confidence in our own story. The past where we thought that government alone must do everything for each and every one of us, to a new today, where transformation begins with the individual, with the love that we express for one another, with behaving day to day as men and women, boys and girls of integrity, in the quality of service that we render where we find ourselves. The value for money that we give for goods and services that we offer, the cleanliness of our environment, the warmth of our hearts, the reception that we give to visitors who come into our country; all of these aggregate into these elements that make us, truly, a fascinating people and a fascinating country.

Finally, so you don't miss your flight, how will the security concerns of foreign visitors be addressed?
I think it is important for us to reach out to the media and let them understand that the negative stories that are picked up by the West come from our own media. Nigeria is not worse off than many other countries that we know of but they work with the media to manage the integrity of their country.

We're also going to be working within 50 corridors. Not every part of Nigeria is a tourism destination as at now, regardless of all the enormous potentials that exist all over the country. There are over 235 possible destinations and we're just going to start gradually from one to another but let me also say, in many other parts of Africa, especially in North Africa where a lot of foreign tourists are going, you will see what is happening in those places and once there is a bit of respite, you'll see that the government will first and foremost appeal to tourists to come, that their countries are safe for tourists. And that is because the tourists will be the eyes for the rest of the world. We need to borrow some of those lessons.

Another thing is that the people who come to do business in Nigeria, who flock in here, because Nigeria is such a sweet and profitable business destination, they don't tell anybody else about it because they would like to savor and enjoy that destination all by themselves. That is why we have to initiate this campaign so that we can supplement and reposition our country in the minds and hearts of the rest of the world.

Thank you very much sir and have a safe flight.

You're most welcome.

Confusion in Rivers: Patience Jonathan’s Mother Not Dead

Posted: 23 Jul 2013 12:03 PM PDT

Information reaching 247ureports from competent sources in Rivers State indicate that the reported death of the mother of the first lady of Nigeria may have been misreported.

According to the information received, the woman that died in the said car crash was not the mother of the first lady. But our source stated that the first lady called the woman mother.
The name of the woman who died in the crash is Sisi.

The remains of the deceased, who was travelling to neighboring Bayelsa, when the accident occurred was placed at Kpaima Mortuary, at Elechi Beach, Diobu, Port Harcourt, which is not far from Government House.

Unconfirmed sources said the accident happened at 6p.m. Monday. The political crisis in Rivers State may have prevented the state government from issuing an official statement on the passage of Sisi – the woman Patience Jonathan calls mother. Ordinarily, the commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari would have issued a statement on the death on behalf of the state government, but she was yet to do that at the time of this report.

Governor Nyako Says: PDP Will Die and We Will Bury It

Posted: 23 Jul 2013 11:59 AM PDT

Adamawa State governor Murtala Nyako, one of those who is strongly oppose to the return of President Goodluck Jonathan, has disclosed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is being plagued by a serious illness and that they are awaiting its death to give it a befitting burial.

Governor Nyako, who said this in an emotion-laden voice while speaking on BBC Hausa Service programme on Monday afternoon further added that:

Some of the stakeholders only deemed it fit to remain in the party due to the political positions they occupy presently and if the party failed to survive its self-inflicted illness, they will give it a befitting burial and leave for good.

He said, "People are saying that the PDP is dead or about to die but a concerned person like me will remain in the party till it dies and give it a befitting burial. If PDP will die, let it die in our hands so that we will give it a befitting burial and mourn her."

He said the party is currently going through its worst times as a result of the highhandedness and anarchy with which the leadership of the party at the National level is addressing issues.

On their visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Governor Nyako said, "You should understand that our visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo was not in our capacity as PDP members but out of our concern to provide panacea to the ailment currently bedevilling the party. That is why we are making moves to involve elder statesmen in our consultations."

He said the high-level meeting between the four governors who met the former president was fruitful.

Jonathan Uses Helicopter To Pass That Bad Road; Now It Has Affected His Wife --Activist Speaks

Posted: 23 Jul 2013 11:41 AM PDT

The accident involving "mother" of Dame Patience Jonathan, wife of the President, on the East/West road is one that is throwing up a lot of issues in Port Harcourt, Olokunbolablessing.blogspot.Com gathered. Some say Governor Rotimi Amaechi has complained severally to the Presidency for that road to be fixed.
Consequently, a popular human rights lawyer, Ken Atswete has blamed the poor state of the East/West road for the death of the "mother" of the first lady.
"Governor Amaechi was publicly abused by Godsday Orubube last year for crying out that the Federal Government has neglected the road. He was vilified for speaking out," he stressed.
According the vocal lawyer, President Jonathan flies from Port Harcourt Airport to Yenagoa by helicopter to avoid the same bad road that has now wrecked havoc on his wife's family...

He said despite several cries that this major road that links the oil rich Niger Delta is in a deplorable state, it is taking the Federal Government forever to fix the road.

Ken Atswete said that it is sad and a shame that President Jonathan's failure in governance has to led to the death of many Nigerians on that road, and now that of his wife's "mother", identified as Charity or Sisi.

He said that for over two years commuters have preferred to take the Omagwa International Airport/Elele-Omerelu road close to the Imo State boundary dualised by Governor Amaechi's administration, to avoid the death trap called East/West road.

Not long ago, Governor Ameachi and Godsday Orubebe, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, had a shouting match over the poor state of the East/West road.

Amaechi had said that if the Federal Government has refused to fix the road, state governors of the Niger Delta will take it over.

This drew the ire of the Federal Government which voiced its anger through Orubebe who boasted that Amaechi will be cut to size because he disrespects the president and thinks that as chairman of Governor's Forum he is an alternate president.

Olokunbolablessing.blogspot.Com gathered that Governor Amaechi is out of the country on an official trip.
In as much as we commensurate with the President and his wife over this incident, lets remind ourselves that it could be anybody tomorrow and urge this government to do the right thing with our resources.
