Posted: 30 Jul 2013 05:47 AM PDT

Some girls are really mean, as in wicked to the bone! How can you set your boyfriend's Range Rover Jeep on fire simply because he cheated on you with another girl?

Seriously, do you guys think this girl's action is justifiable? Is cheating a good enough reason for her to take the laws into her hands and wreck the guy's life to the extent?
Guys, will you accept her plea: "Please, am sorry" if she does this to you?

How Possible Is It For Nigeria To Break-Up?

Posted: 30 Jul 2013 05:17 AM PDT

The political, ethnic and religious tensions in the country, accentuated by the tussle for the 2015 Presidency, have begun to make many people raise the alarm that the often misquoted and misrepresented personal comments of the participants at the United States' National Intelligence Council conference of the possibility of a break-up of Nigeria in 2015, if certain things occurred, is about to come to fruition.
Many people have often quoted the United States' Central Intelligence Agency as the body that made that prediction so as to give that misrepresentation more authenticity. But reports show that some participants at the National Intelligence Council conference had noted that if some junior officers were to stage a coup in Nigeria, it could cause a crisis of immense proportions in Nigeria, which could destabilise the West African sub-region.

But are the fears of a possible break-up of Nigeria real or exaggerated? Another question is: Given the constant tensions in Nigeria, why has it not disintegrated?

Going down memory lane, the closest Nigeria came to disintegration was between July 1966 and January 1970. A counter-coup against Maj.-Gen. J.T.U. Aguiyi-Ironsi had led to the massacre of Igbo civilians, especially in the North, with an estimated 50,000 of them killed. That incident led to bad blood between the Eastern Region, led by Lt. Col Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and the rest of Nigeria, led by Lt. Col. Yakubu Gowon. There were efforts to settle the differences, the culmination of which was the Aburi Accord in Ghana, under the chairmanship of Ghana's military head of state, Lt.-Gen. J.A. Ankrah. But it failed to stop a war that raged from 1967 to January 1970, which claimed the lives of over one million people, most of whom were Igbo. But at the end of the war, Nigeria still remained one in spite of discontent.

The second incident closest to breaking up Nigeria was the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, won by Chief M.K.O Abiola, by Gen. Ibrahim Babangida. This injustice was greeted by protests. While the scheduled date of Babangida's exit of August 27, 1993 drew near, there were fears that the self-styled Evil Genius wanted to extend his stay in power, and the junta of Babangida heightened the tension in the land by the propaganda that Abiola was mustering an army to invade Nigeria. Just before August 27, there was an exodus of people from Lagos. Happily, that day came and went quietly with Babangida handing over power to an Interim National Government led by Chief Ernest Shonekan.

Gen. Sani Abacha subsequently sacked the Interim National Government and unleashed a gruesome dictatorship on Nigeria from November 1993 to June 1998. There were frequent strikes and protests. The fears that Nigeria would disintegrate heightened. That fear evaporated when Abacha died in 1998 and Abiola followed suit a month after.

But before the June 12 crisis, there was another incident that had the trappings of a break-up: the 1990 military coup led by Major Gideon Orkar. The curious part of that coup was the announcement of the excision of some Northern states from Nigeria. If that coup had succeeded, the fate of those Northern states would have hung in the balance.

Then came the Niger Delta insurgency of the first decade of the 21st Century. The region had complained for a long time that despite producing the wealth of the nation, it was being treated shabbily and its land polluted. Armed groups started the bombing of oil installations as well as kidnapping of foreigners working in the petroleum industry in the region. It looked as if that would lead to a pull-out of parts of the Niger Delta from Nigeria, until in 2009 when President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua initiated the amnesty programme.

That was followed by the violence of the Islamic fundamentalist group known as Boko Haram in some Northern parts of the country. The sect's members bombed schools, markets, churches, mosques, military offices, media houses etc. Given Boko Haram's audacity and continuous attacks, it was feared that its attacks, especially on Southerners in the North, could lead to reprisals in the South that could spark off an ethnic war. But it was managed until President Goodluck Jonathan declared a state of emergency in the three Northern states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe this year.

Furthermore, in 2011, the plan of Jonathan to run for president also caused tension in the land, especially from the viewpoint of the North. His ambition to run was viewed as negating the gentleman's agreement to rotate the Presidency between the South and the North. The death of Yar'Adua in office had cut short the turn of the North, it was further claimed. Nevertheless, Jonathan ran and won. There was bloodshed in parts of the North, but the nation trudged on.

Now that the 2015 presidential election is on the radar, tensions have risen again. Some tactless individuals in the North have threatened that if the North does not rule in 2015, there will be trouble. Their fellow tactless counterparts in the South-South have replied them that if Jonathan does not rule in 2015, there will be trouble. The 2015 election has therefore been given an ethnic hue again, with many fearing that there will be trouble. The current crisis in Rivers State has further worsened the situation.

However, I believe that the future of Nigeria is not threatened in the nearest future for some reasons. The first is the existence of petroleum in the South and lack of it in the North. Oil is the major national glue in Nigeria. Nigerians have become so lazy that the fear of not getting the proceeds from oil is the beginning of patriotism and oneness.

Second, even though there are armed groups in different parts of the nation, the Nigerian Army is still stronger than all of them. These armed groups do not operate under a united platform that will make them more formidable, and so they are individually of no match to the Nigerian Army.

Third, there is the often unspoken fact that deep in the hearts of Nigerians, they really want to be Nigerians. Nigerians may spew hatred about one another on Monday over underage marriage or the Presidency, but on Tuesday, if the United Kingdom or the United States threatens Nigeria over gay rights, Nigerians will suddenly come together to tell them to take a jump. If schoolchildren are killed in Borno State on Wednesday, Nigerians will exchange angry words and ask for the nation's disintegration, only to return on Thursday to celebrate the victory of the Super Eagles at the African Cup of Nations as one nation on Sunday. It is a funny type of marriage.

However, the problem is that Nigerians are angry with the poverty in their land in spite of the immense wealth of their nation. They feel frustrated by the corruption, the frequent ethno-religious bloodshed, the marginalisation, the injustice, the unequal opportunities, the harsh environment for personal attainment, to mention but a few. When the citizens of a nation are prosperous and safe, they think less of disintegration.

Finally, from North to South and from East to West, Nigerians are diverse in their worldviews and orientations. The continued attempt to make Nigerians move together as one on all issues of life – including on religious and ethnic matters – will continue to cause problems. A true federal system of government like that practised in the US, the UK, Canada, Switzerland, Belgium, etc, is meant to allow the different federating units to retain their identity and worldview while pursuing national visions with their compatriots.

What Nigeria has today is a pseudo-unitary system of government, where everything takes place in Abuja and every state has to conform to what Abuja wants. The states and zones are forced to accept lifestyles that run against their beliefs just for the sake of other states and zones. If this is not changed through constitutional means or a national conference, Nigerians will continue to feel trapped in a nation that they love but which continues to suffocate and frustrate them.

This is very strange. This woman Amanda Ross who is 41 has given birth to her first baby just 15 hours after discovering she was pregnant. She has never been pregnant before and thought she just had stomach upset when labour set in.
While shopping with her partner,Paul Dean she had been feeling bloated and blamed it on constipation and went to her local health centre where they gave her a scan - and told her she was probably seven or eight months pregnant.
She said:
'My first reaction when they told me I was pregnant was one of sheer terror.
'I thought "Oh my God", I could have done this ten years ago - but I'm in my 40s.
'It was a massive shock and I still can't believe it. It's going to get some getting used to.''I had no idea I was expecting - there'd been no flutters, no cravings, no kicking, no morning sickness, no kicking, nothing.
'We were totally unprepared for a new baby - we hadn't even got a cotton bud.'Thankfully our families have been really good, running around to get everything we need.'
Stunned Paul, 53, has been with Amanda for 14 years and neither of them work. He is already dad to Andrew, 34, and daughter Jessica, 32.
He said:
'I thought 'where the hell did that come from? She's had no pains or cravings or stomach aches, nothing'I'm still in shock and the reality has yet to sink in. It's going to take some getting used to.

This Guy Is Best Graduating Student In Covenant Uni; He Says He Never Had A Girlfriend

Posted: 30 Jul 2013 04:49 AM PDT

Young Michael Eromhonsele sacrificed romance for excellence and emerged the best graduating student of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State.

Twenty-year-old Eromhonsele Michael was the cynosure of all eyes at the eighth graduation ceremony of the Covenant University on Friday. He was the best graduating student of the institution.
To achieve this feat, young Eromhonsele had to:
Obtain a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.92, out of a possible 5.0, to beat 1,465 others.

According to a a report by Punch's Samuel Awoyinfa, the young man said his first few days in the campus were uneventful. According to him, he was a bit confused because he was not used to the prayer regime that he had to be part of at the faith-based institution. Spirituality is one of the core values of CU. But as soon as he found his rhythm, there was no looking back for him.

He says he did not allow himself to be distracted by his friends or the opposite sex as he concentrated on his studies.

Listing some of the factors that helped him to achieve that feat, he says, "First, I must acknowledge God's favour and his assistance. Second, I did not entertain any form of distractions. I did not attend parties, and I did not have any girlfriend or what you may refer to as a lover. I concentrated on my studies."

What about his study style? Eromhonsele reveals that apart from the serene environment in the school, which is conducive for learning, he loves to read late into the night.

According to him, he started reading from 10.00pm and he won't stop until 1.00am.

"Those are the hours I found most convenient to read. As soon as I closed my book, I went to bed. I woke up at 7.00am, and got ready for my classes. Lectures start at 8.00am," he adds.

Apart from being the best overall student, he was also the best in the College of Science and Technology where he studied Civil Engineering.

Eromhonsele, who is his parents' second child, explains that they contributed in no small measure to whatever success he recorded in the university. He stresses that they constantly reminded him of his background and they advised him not to lose focus.

Eromhonsele had his primary school at the University of Benin Staff School, while he attended both University of Benin Demonstration Secondary School and Greater Tomorrow Secondary School for his junior and senior secondary school education.

"My parents were very supportive. They always reminded me of the home I'm from, and they also urged me to take my studies seriously," he notes.

He explains that his mother, Charity Eromhonsele, is a business woman, while the father, Gabriel Eromhonsele, a civil engineer runs a consulting firm in Benin, Edo State. He says his father is a native of Igueben.

Apart from his parents, Eromhonsele did not lose sight of the contributions of his lecturers, who, he says, impacted him throughout his stay in the institution. Their pieces of advice, he adds, went a long way in shaping his outlook on life.

Talking about the lesson he's taking away from the CU, Eromhonsele says he's learnt that "the people one surrounds himself with in life will determine how far one will go."

Again, he advises that there is no future without God, and that he has learnt to put Him first in everything he does.

After obtaining a first degree, what next for Michael?
Beaming with smiles, he says, "I have already got admission to University of Surrey in the United kingdom to read Structural Engineering for my Master's degree. I chose this particular course because I feel the need to improve on the structural aspects of construction works."

Posted: 30 Jul 2013 04:28 AM PDT

There was a startling revelation on Monday that guys now operate sex spots, just like ladies:
According to the latest investigations by the Anambra State Aids Control Agency, it was discovered that there are 618 female and 24 male sex spots in various parts of the state.
Director of SACA, Dr. Ogochukwu Ndibe, who gave the figures at a programme for international partners operating in the state, said there are 5920 female and over 500 male sex workers in the state.

On the average, there are 10 female sex workers and 5 male sex workers in a spot.

He said: "There are men who have sex with other men as a matter of preference or practice, regardless of their sexual identity or sexual orientation and irrespective of whether they also have sex with women or not."

Areas where the male and female sex spots were prevalent include Awka South, Awka North, Ihiala, Onitsha South, Orumba North, Nnewi North, Onitsha North, Aguata, and Njikoka.

Quote of the day; Pope Francis on gay people

Posted: 29 Jul 2013 12:53 PM PDT

According to the Associated Press, below is what Pope Francis said when quizzed about gay priests during his transatlantic flight home following a week-long trip to Brazil...
"Pope Francis reached out to gays on Monday, saying he wouldn't judge priests for their sexual orientation.... "If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has good will, who am I to judge?" Francis asked.
Below is a longer version (and slightly different translation) of the Pope's quote via NCR:
"When I meet a gay person, I have to distinguish between their being gay and being part of a lobby. If they accept the Lord and have good will, who am I to judge them? They shouldn't be marginalized. The tendency [to homosexuality] is not the problem...they're our brothers."

UK visa: Nigerians to begin payment of £3,000 bond from November

Posted: 29 Jul 2013 12:36 PM PDT

It's a done deal people. From November 2013, Nigeria will be among the six listed Commonwealth 'high risk' countries whose citizens will be required to pay £3,000 tourists visa bond before they are allowed into the UK. The remaining five are: India, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

But here's what the UK government are saying to pacify citizens of these countries who are outraged by this new policy. They say it's not all visitors that will be required to pay the bond, just people they consider 'highest risk'; that is people who will collect visa and refuse to leave Britain or overstay their visa terms. Those paying bonds will receive the bond back, if they abided by the terms of their visa.

According to the UK Financial Times report last Friday, the UK Home Office say there's no going back as the scheme is their most effective way of tackling abuse in their immigration system. Nigeria and the other five countries account for more than five hundred thousand visa applications in 2012.

But this scheme will kinda affect business in the UK as Nigeria is said to be the 6th biggest spenders on luxury goods in the country.

General Overseer's Wife Catches Him In Their Bedrrom With A Member's Wife

Posted: 29 Jul 2013 12:14 PM PDT

"I was surprised that my husband locked his prayer partner, wife of another man, in his bedroom overnight... The act not only led to the collapse of our marriage but it also led to the break up in the woman's home because after I had left him, people were still seeing my husband and the woman together.

"Her husband eventually sent her packing from her matrimonial home..."

Those where the words of an estranged pastor's wife, Mrs. Rebecca Bamidele, while narrating to an Ojo Customary Court in Lagos, how her husband, Pastor Israel Bamidele, locked himself with a female prayer partner in his bedroom overnight on several occasions.

Giving evidence in a divorce petition which her husband filed against her in the court, Rebecca said although her husband falsely accused her of infidelity, he was the one that is neck deep in the shameful act.
Apart from the issue of hosting his prayer partner in his bedroom, Rebecca also disclosed that she caught her husband, Pastor Bamidele, sleeping with his school secretary on several occasion, but she couldn't complain because he would beat her silly.
When asked the position of her husband's family on the crisis, Rebecca said:
She once traveled to Osun State to meet her mother-in-law but to her surprise her husband's mum said she should allow his son marry another wife because her father-in-law, who is a prophet, had three wives.
redecca added, "When I returned to Lagos, my husband quarreled with me, saying why should I go to his homestead in Osun State to inform his mother about issues in our marriage in Lagos?"

She said, "anytime I complain, my husband will say I was becoming too stubborn for him. He would say in Yoruba, 'ila ti n ga ju onire lo', meaning, the okro plant was becoming taller than it's owner."

When the court asked her about the role played by other pastors to resolve the crisis, Rebecca said Bamidele is the founder and general overseer of his church and as such other leaders were subordinated to him since he appointed them.

The court president, Hakeem Tunde Oyekan, adjourned the matter till 27 August, 2013, for judgement.

Tonto Dikeh in trouble as movie producers, directors stop giving her roles

Posted: 29 Jul 2013 11:05 AM PDT

Tonto Charity Dikeh has become a force to reckon with in the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood. The actress and singer from Rivers State is of the Ikwerre tribe. Born June 9, 1985, Dikeh competed against other contestants on a reality TV show called The Next Movie Star where she was the first runner-up.Hitz writes about the many controversies of the sultry actress and why she should take it easy for a blossomed career.

Nollywood, is second only to the Indian film industry in number of movies produced each year and it has produced world class stars like Omotola Jalade Ekehinde, Genevieve Nnaji, Olu Jacobs, Pete Edochie, the late Sam Loco Efe, Nkem Owoh and many others.
Dikeh says that after her second movie 'Holy Cross', more movie directors and producers were willing to cast her, and she has appeared in scores of movies ever since.
The actress has received criticism on many a movie she starred in making her a hot cake for producers who want her to be part of their movies due to her logic in script interpretation.
The enchanting young actress still have a lot in store for her and she could achieve whatever she want to achieve in the industry.
Nollywood is just a step in the right direction to become a world renowned. She has the charisma, physics, face and other attributes anyone could think of to become a star. But the crazy incidents of late is not telling good of her image. It could be a strategy to be hyped by the media, but controversies easily kills a celebrity image.
Hitz can exclusively report that there is a current gang up to frustrate the career of actress, Tonto Dikeh, who is also a darling to controversies.
Tonto who hugs, chews and pampers controversy in a very helplessly controversial manner is said to have bitten more than she can chew in recent times following her rude and troublesome behaviour while on set. A certain top movie Director who wouldn't want his name mentioned, was directing a movie on a set at Asaba with Tonto Dikeh playing lead in the movie and ever since he came back to Lagos after the shoot, he has not stopped complaining about how rude and abusive Tonto played out herself all through at the location.
According to him, "Tonto Dikeh is such a rot and lacks every bit of home training, apologies to her parents. 'I tried to control myself in order not to disrupt the set, but I got upset over the kind of insult Tonto, heaped on the makeup artiste on the set. A woman who is old enough to be her mother" 'Are you stupid, don't you know what you are supposed to do? Must I remind you before you'll know you are supposed to make me up'? Those were said to be Tonto's words to the already fuming makeover artiste who was at the verge of throwing back some punch lines at her.
At this point, the director was said to have lashed at Tonto seriously and washed her in, out, left, right and center until the situation was later calmed down by the producer of the movie. This was sequaled by a certain report made available to this medium that due to her controversial lifestyle and appetite for trouble, Tonto's colleagues now isolate themselves from her, as well as some of her very close friends.
Meanwhile a check by this medium has revealed that top movie producers and directors have teamed up to frustrate Tonto Dikeh due to mannerless attitude while on set. According to them, "that little brat, apart from her addictions to marijuana and cigarette, doesn't give a damn about whose ox is gored, she abuses, throw tantrums and fight on set at every slightest provocation and we must make sure she's humiliated. She seem to have gathered to much weight and has hurriedly forgotten those days when she used to go on bended knees for a 'waka pass' role in movies. We'll teach her a lesson'. They vowed.
On the other hand, records have it that the 'Mother Controversy' as Tonto is now widely addresses by colleagues doesn't enjoy the best of relationship with most of her colleagues. Among whom are: Mercy Johnson, her arch rival, Mamma Gee, even though she was credited of introducing her to the industry big time, Genevieve, although the genesis of their disagreement was not stated, Nonso Diobi for rebuking her over abusive comments on Mercy Johnson. Other names given are, Nuella Njubigbo and Monalisa Chinda, all of whom are producers' top demands in movies.
Meanwhile producers and directors, who have worked with her, have described Mercy Johnson as a down to earth person, cheerful and cool-headed to work with. Sources who spoke exclusively to www.myemag.net claim it's the reason MJ as Mercy is famously addressed is of a very high demand in movies in the past few years, especially now that Nollywood is shifting base to Asaba in Delta State, Nigeria.
Mercy Johnson, married to Odianose Okojie, blessed with a beautiful baby, Purity has countless of movies to her credit and has won to herself, too numerous fans within a short period of time.

Unbelievable: Pastor, 3 Others Arrested For Armed

Posted: 29 Jul 2013 05:54 AM PDT

It was a day of shame for the members of a popular Pentecostal Church in Abeokuta, capital of Ogun State as their pastor and spiritual leader was arrested with three others for armed robbery operation.
From what Olokunbolablessing.blogspot.com gathered, the deadly gang had successfully robbed a house in the town but luck ran on them when one of the gang members was arrested during a police man-hunt...
It was this arrest that led to the apprehension of the pastor and others.
The pastor who was arrested during the weekend along with other members of the gang have been detained at the Ibara Police station in Abeokuta.

As news of the arrest of the popular pastor filtered into town, few of his die-heard church members besieged the Police station in protest, claiming there must have been a mix up as they couldn't imagine their spiritual leader involving himself in armed robbery.

WOW! Bible Remains Intact After Car Burnt To Ashes In Abuja

Posted: 29 Jul 2013 05:44 AM PDT

Indeed miracles are real! They are experiential occurrences which raise the conviction of believers and their devotion to spirituality across all faiths. A very strange miracle occurred in Abuja on Saturday, when a Bible remained untouched by fire from a car that burnt into ashes.

The car, driven by one Jeremiah Giwa, who arrived the country from United Kingdom about five months ago after completing his tertiary education, swerved off the road, tumbled and eventually landed in a ditch, exploding in flames.
Jeremiah who was driving the care narrates the event and the Bible miracle:
"My younger brother, Joshua and I were going to pick our parents and elder brother from the airport, so we had an accident on the way at the road before Galadimawa. We were coming from our home in the Games Village. The car was very fine and it hadn't developed any fault before.
"That morning, it was raining and the car began to swerve off the road. I tried to bring the car back on the road but the break was not holding anymore. I tried ceaselessly and I later lost control of the car. The car eventually tumbled twice after moving zigzag on the road and landed in a ditch.
"I have been driving close to five years and I was very okay when I drove the car.
"When it happened, we immediately unhooked our seat-belts; I talked to my brother for a few seconds to ensure he was okay. We unhooked the belts; thank God it wasn't jammed.

"We tried to open the driver's door but the door was jammed. We tried to break the glass too, it refused to break. We managed to spot one of the windows at the back; we broke it and climbed out through it, under one of the chairs. We went far away from the car to ensure our safety because the car was already in flames.
The two of us were the only occupants of the car and my brother was sitting beside me in front. We were so shocked that we both came out unscathed.

"We watched the car go up in flames while other drivers initially drove past us. It was about a few minutes before 6am; so it was still a bit dark.

"By the time people began to stop, everything had burnt beyond recognition. To our surprise, the early morning rain which we thought could help save the car also stopped immediately the car was completely gutted by the fire. Sympathizers didn't even know we owned the car. They all ran past us to see the burning car. They were wondering if people were still there and all that.
"By the time my parents and elder brother were aware of the incident, they all cried, but I think it was for joy. Initially, when my dad was aware of it, he wasn't happy that we were coming to pick them.

"We had intended to give them a surprise lift from the airport. But, when we took our dad to the scene of the accident, he couldn't talk anymore.

"He was in tears. The car wasn't the reason he cried. I guess he was just surprised and was grateful to God as to how we manage to come out unscathed and how the bible was not touched by fire.

"I am sure God really loves us. We had just finished a youth vigil a night before the incident and prayed against destiny wasters. Shortly after we left the scene, we went to Garki General Hospital for necessary tests including x-rays. Nothing happened to us. We were given paracetamol and pain relievers, which to my knowledge none of us has been taking because nothing happened to us."

Jeremiah noted that the Bible was later recovered from the ashes of the burnt car and it was not torched by the inferno, disclosing that many people had been coming to Christ Victory Life Church in Abuja to see the Bible and use it to pray over their problems.

Bishop Napoleon Obayojie is the Presiding Bishop of the Church. He said:
"My reaction to the accident that happened is that God is God and that He takes care of his own and He shows forth His glory. The enemy had meant the accident for destruction, like the day of Shedrack, Mechack and Abednego.

"The Lord God came in and delivered the children. The Bible that was in the vehicle which the fire burnt to ashes did not burn; the Bible is still at my altar right now.

"That was a sign God showed to the world that He was the one that intervened and that caused everything that happened. If you had been to a scene of an accident, you will definitely know it is only God that can do that; no one else.

"In these last days, I think there are many people whose faiths are wavering, whose beliefs are shaking, and who do not have the stamina to continue. Maybe one thing had happened to them or the other. They might attribute such to God's failure or that God did not answer their prayers.

"But with this kind of thing that happened, they should understand and be convinced that God is still God and that He is in control of human affairs. He is in control of the entire world."

Recently wedded actress, Toyin Aimakhu has really become angry with her critics who have not stopped lashing out at her over her marriage to fellow actor, Niyi Johnson. Since she walked down the aisle with her handsome hubby, the pretty actress has come under criticisms.

While some alleged that she's about three years older than her husband, others lambasted her for staging a low-key wedding ceremony as a celeb.

Not happy with the negative comments for her choice of marriage, the Edo State-born actress has allegedly placed a curse on her critics and begged God to make it come to pass.

She took to twitter to state, "I don't understand anymore. You people will insult us. You will be cursing us that is just a year, if the marriage breaks again, you people will be shouting that we are irresponsible. Anyways, anyone who places a curse or say negative words about my home, God of Abraham, God of God, Allah will place a curse on them and all their lives will bring negative meanings to people."

Eze Obasi is a motor mechanic  from Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State. He resides at Oraifite Street, but has his workshop on Aku Street, all at  the Ogui New Layout  of  the Coal City.
That fateful Sunday in April, Eze had dressed up and was set to go for a child dedication with one of his friends but never had any inkling that he was heading for an encounter with the devil.
By the time he got to Aku Street, he could not find his friend. He then decided to cross over to Edinburgh Roundabout to recharge his phone and call him. He never made that call.  Rather, he found himself on a journey into a thick bush at  Akokwa, Ideato Local Government Area of Imo State, where he was to be offered to the gods as  sacrifice.

Two months after the traumatic experience from  which God saved him, Eze is still in shock and has found it difficult to believe that he could have died three months ago. The following is Eze Obasi's story as told by him.

"It was a Sunday and  I came out at the popular Edinburgh Roundabout, (the home of newspapers and vendors) in central Enugu and I saw one man who told me he was looking for a mechanic that would help fix his car. I told him I am a mechanic and requested to know where the vehicle was. He said it was parked at the WTC junction nearby, so I went and brought some tools and followed him.

"By the time we got there, I discovered that there were four young men. I opened the bonnet of the car, a Mercedes Benz V-Boot, which was bearing a government number plate. I stood in front of the bonnet and  by then all the four men were by my side. I asked them what was wrong with the car and they said it wasn't starting, so I bent over to check the engine.

"In the split of a second, I discovered that a substance had been blown into my face and had entered my eyes. I screamed 'my eyes oh'! And just as I struggled to regain balance and clear my face, the men guided me into the car, which sped off. Before we got  to the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, UNEC, gate, I was already feeling sleepy and soon slept off.

"When I regained  consciousness, I discovered that I was in a bush and it was later that  I found out that I had been taken to somewhere in Akokwa, in the Ideato area of Imo State. I was very weak but was able to notice a group of young men inside a room nearby. It was then I said some prayers telling God that I only tried to help people in need and that in my town such gesture does not attract curse or condemnation.

"About an hour later, it was very dark and  noise started coming from the room and a red curtain on the door began to shake. Suddenly someone came from behind the curtains holding something like a bottle that had a blinking light. He ran the light through my body from head to toe and went back.  When he got close to the curtain, he asked who brought me to that place. He turned round and used the bottle to hit me and immediately I regained full consciousness. But as I tried to get up, I realized that I was tied to a bench.  Three of them came forward and untied me and led me through the bush to a point where the men touched me and immediately disappeared and I started struggling on my own to find a way out of the bush.

"It was very late by the time I got to the main road. I didn't know where I was but I continued moving until I saw a woman. I asked her where that place was and she said it's Akokwa in Imo State and asked who brought me to that place. I told her my story and she directed me to go straight on till I got to a junction. She said  one of the roads leads to Aba-Port Harcourt road and that the other leads to Arondizuogu, while the third leads to Nnewi. She advised me to take the route towards Nnewi that I would see a vehicle that would take me to Anambra.

"I told her that I didn't have any money on me and she brought out N500 and gave to me. I asked her how I would see her again to return her money and the woman asked me to go first; that I didn't realize what God had done for me.

"I boarded a vehicle and in the bus I narrated my story. The driver who took me to Anambra did not take a dime from me. I only paid a fare from Anambra to Enugu. And from New Market where the bus dropped me at about 12 midnight, I found my way back to my house at  Oraifite Street."

It wasn't the end of his ordeal.

Weeks after the ugly experience, Eze continued to hear strange voices and noise similar to the ones he heard coming from the mysterious house in the bush he was taken to at night.

"After narrating my story to people, I continued to hear those strange noises and languages which I didn't understand. It always happened when I was alone. There was a language they were speaking there which I didn't understand. So, it kept reverberating until my colleagues took me to a prayer house for prayers and thanksgiving, since then I stopped hearing the strange voices and noises ."

It was difficult for Eze to recall what those voices were saying. The only thing he remembered was  the voice that said 'young man, go! go! go!'

He recalled that after some  incantations that the man who appeared to be their leader chanted, he said they brought the wrong person and that he should  therefore, be taken away immediately.

Describing the scenario inside the bush, Eze noted that a house was built there probably for ritual purposes. He said it has a red curtain and  the ritualists  wore  blue uniforms. He described the room as a large one with members whom, he said, tied  pieces of clothing round their heads with a cross on their foreheads.  They were about 18 in number.

BlogVisitor Asks ''Should I Dump My Girlfriend And Hustle?''

Posted: 28 Jul 2013 09:17 AM PDT

I'm a 23 year old university graduat and I'm dating a very beautiful girl who's in her finals in the university. I really love her and I can bet the feeling is mutual.
The problem I have is many guys, men and even grandpas are after this girl 'cos you can't help but look @ her thrice when you see her.

They offer her a lot of things, things I can only dream of now 'cos I don't have the means yet, as am still a hustler.
Even though my folks are rich, I believe in spending my money; not theirs.
My future is very bright, I'm convinced but I dont know when its going to happen for me.
Should I leave this girl?I fear she's going to leave me for one of this oppressors at some point. I'm confused, I can't fight a battle without a weapon. Should I face my hustle or fight for this girl. I Seriously need advice.
Thanks.

*Lol*...The men who have experienced something like this should be able to give sound advice.

Actress Foluko Daramola Says She Prayed and God Gave Her Another Woman's Husband

Posted: 28 Jul 2013 08:18 AM PDT

This actress and her way of justifying husband snatching is funny. She made a man, who used to love his wife and kids, to send them out of his house overnight and she's calling it "God answers prayer"? How sad!

Below is a brief part of a recent chat where Foluke Darama talk about her action:

Since you got married, you hardly talk about your new status. Why?
Well, I thank God. I did not plan for it. I had told myself that I was out of it, and I was done with it. It just happened. I am happy with my husband. I thank God that I have a man that understands me and has taken me for who I am. He is someone who tells me to keep giving my best. He gives me a lot of push.

Many say the marriage is that of convenience, and it's all about the money. What is your reaction to this?
It is not at all about material things. In fact, if it is about material things, I would not be in this marriage; I will be somewhere else. What I need and prayed to God for is a man who will love me and understand me, and I got my wish.

Are you planning to have children with your new husband?
Oh sure. Children are the joy of every marriage and we definitely look forward to having children together.

Are you sometimes scared that this one might end up like the first?
That I believe is not a possibility. We are attracted emotionally to each other, and we both have a spiritual connection, which we didn't hesitate to find out all the way. My mum went out to pray about it with men of God. I also went out to pray and fasted over it. He had a past; I have mine, so the two of us coming together is like we don't have a choice than to make it work for both of us. If you have noticed, both our families, all the family members were involved, which is unusual. Normally, you find one or two family members saying one thing or the other, but in this case, everybody, my father-in-law, my brothers, my brothers and sisters-in-law, everybody, including my uncle and parents were positive. So, at the end of the day, you find that God is actually telling us something. So, I needed that spiritual conviction.

The first time, not that I didn't need the spiritual conviction, but then I wasn't in a hurry, everything people told me was like let us do it. But when I was about getting married, I had this strong heartbeat, it was very strong, but I looked at it and said maybe it's maturity and I know it is maturity. I guess it's just peace of mind. There is a difference between infatuation and love and this you may not know when you are young. Now, I know am in love with the right person, and my mind is at peace. We have our fights, we have our quarrels, but we understand we are both in something that has to work.

Why I Can't Stick Out My Neck To Support President Jonathan ––Amaechi Opens Up

Posted: 28 Jul 2013 08:13 AM PDT

Embattled Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi has said that President Goodluck Jonathan knows the right thing to do if he is indeed interested in contesting the 2015 presidential election.
Amaechi who stressed that as Chairman of Governors' Forum he is a critical stakeholder in the equation, insisted that: "If he [Jonathan] wants to contest, he will call me and inform me. And then we will look at it."
Asked by his interviewer if there are reasons why he might not support Jonathan who come from the same geo-political zone with him, Amaechi retorted: "I don't understand what you mean by I come from the same zone as the president and if there is any reason why I cannot support him. I've told you that the President is yet to say whether he wants to run or not."

The interviewer persisted and told the governor whether he did not think his refusal to answer the question was responsible for his problem with the Presidency. But Amaechi snapped back, saying:
"What makes the question simple? You want me to become a prophet and determine that the president will contest? Assuming I say today that I will support the President and tomorrow the President says he is not contesting. Let the President inform me that he wants to contest... If he decides to contest, he will call those that he wants to support him. That would be the time that we will discuss the issue."
On the specifics of their disagreement with PDP leadership, Governor Amaechi said, "It is all muddled up. You won't talk about governance without talking about the party. The party needs to look at the direction the government is going…If we want victory at the polls, we have to correct these things.
"The party is not consulting enough; it seems as if the party wants to undermine the governors. What you see in the NGF is a deliberate attempt to cause confusion and division among the governors."

Funke Akindele Cries To God: "I'm Sorry For Complaining"

Posted: 28 Jul 2013 08:05 AM PDT

It seems our dear actress Funke Akindele rushed into the marriage with Mr Oloyede, and that explains why she also rushed out. More like she was complaining to God about a man to call her husband and it got to a point she couldn't wait for divine intervention, hence she decided to do things her own way.
But she said she has learnt her lessons the hard way. See her short message to God below:

Dear God, I woke up,
I am healthy. I am alive.
Thank you!

I apologize for all my complaining.
I'm truly truly grateful for all you've done.

Pastor Battles Etsu Nupe Over Daughter’s “Forced Conversion” To Islam

Posted: 28 Jul 2013 07:56 AM PDT

This is a must read people, no jokes.

When Miss Charity (Aisha) Uzoechina, 24-year-old daughter of a Pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, left their Abuja home to further her studies at the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State, her parents had no inkling that it was the beginning of many days of sorrow.

Instead of the formal education she traveled to acquire, the young Christian girl is now allegedly pursuing her new faith of Islam at the palace of the Etsu Nupe.

For the parents, the pain is not just that Charity has abandoned her Christian faith, but that she now stands completely separated from them.

She was alleged to have converted to Islam on her own volition and changed her name to Aisha.

However, contrary to these claims, Pastor Raymond Uzoechina is insisting that his daughter is a victim of forced conversion to Islam.

The RCCG Pastor has, therefore, called on security agencies to investigate activities at the palace of the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, to ensure that many people there had not been forced to convert to Islam and held against their will.

He said: "Apart from my daughter, there are so many people at the palace. There is need for the police to investigate and ensure that the people are not suffering the fate of my daughter".

Pastor Uzoechina believes that his daughter was kidnapped and hypnotised.

Narrating the genesis of the problem, he said it all started on March 1 and 2 when he got a call from an aide of the emir, asking him to come to the palace.

On getting to the palace in Bida, he said he met his daughter with two other women, adding "the man said these women brought my daughter to the palace that she has embraced Islam and she has also been withdrawn from school. Those women even claimed they have taken her through the rudiments of Islam and have started looking for a school for her. At this juncture, I demanded that I am going home with her. But the man declined, saying only the emir has the power to allow the girl go with me. They took me to the emir but the emir refused my plea, saying I should come back next week."

He continued that on March 4, two people who claimed to be from the Bida Sharia Court emerged with his daughter with a folded paper and asked him to sign but he refused.

Pastor Uzoechina got the greatest shock of his life when he tried to take his daughter but was told that she was now under the custody of the Sharia Court.

The Sharia Court 1, which said it arrived at the decision because the girl claimed her father could kill her following her change of faith, also accused the defendant (Pastor Uzoechina) of shunning an invitation to appear before it to defend himself.

"At this juncture, this honourable court hereby orders that the custody of the plaintiff be entrusted in the hand of Etsu Nupe for the time being and the Etsu Nupe should employ a qualified Islamic scholar who will be teaching her and showing her what the Islamic customs is all about and the plaintiff can even be watching and selecting a man of her choice whom she will want to marry as her partner", the court held.

In this state of confusion, Uzoechina said he had appealed the decision of the Sharia Court 1 through his lawyer, Anthony Agbonlahor.

The lawyer also petitioned the Chief Judge of Niger State, complaining about the conduct of the judge of the Sharia Court 1, Justice Abdulkadir Idris, saying that the court had no right to take custody of the girl.

"Contrary to the principle of natural justice vis- a-vis fair hearing, our client was not served either with the court summons/processes or hearing notice. The case was filed on March 4; the case was heard March 4 and judgment delivered on the same day. In fact, judgment was also executed on the same date. The question is: why the urgency?", he wondered.

Also, Pastor Uzoechina is still bemused over the fate of his daughter as well as the decision of the court.

According to him, "They (sharia court) have fixed Thursday, August 1 for ruling on our appeal that they don't have jurisdiction. You can't judge a Christian in a Muslim court. I am appealing to them to vacate the judgment because they don't have jurisdiction."
How can I kill my daughter?"

Concerning her daughter's alleged fear that he would kill her, he said "That is not true. My daughter cannot make that allegation. Why should I kill her? We asked them to bring her to the court so that my lawyer can cross-examine her but they refused.

"If she has converted to Islam, must she practice at the Etsu Nupe's palace? Is Etsu Nupe the chief security officer now? They should not separate me from my daughter. She has stayed in the palace for six months. If they say I will harm her, let them release her to the Inspector General of Police, leader of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN or ask me to write an undertaking. Why is my daughter still under Etsu Nupe's enclave? I am only talking about my daughter; there are so many people at the palace. There is need for the police to investigate and ensure that other people are not suffering the fate of my daughter. They did not allow my wife to see my daughter when she visited the
palace."

Be that as it may, the Etsu Nupe is not in any way moved by the Pastor's arguements, instead the emirate has produced legal documents where Charity reportedly said she had converted to Islam and alleged that his father could kill her for the action hence the need to seek protection from the Palace and the Sharia Court, which the court granted.

The Etsu Nupe has refused to release the lady to his father citing the sharia court ruling.

The emirate also absolved itself of the allegations of kidnapping and hypnotizing the young Christian girl.

It said in a statement that Miss Uzoechina approached the monarch for protection over her change of faith from Christianity to Islam on February 15.

It continued that "the royal father invited the father of the girl for talks, with the hope of reconciling them. On March 2, the father came to the palace and was taken before His Royal Highness. It was at His Royal Highness chamber that the father came face to face with his daughter. After discussions with the girl and her father, the Etsu Nupe asked the girl to go back home with her father to resolve the matter as a family.

"The girl refused to go home with her father fearing that the father may harm her going by the encounter at the Etsu Nupe's palace. The girl left the palace and approached a court in Bida for protection, a request which the court granted the girl. The girl has since been in the custody of the court in Bida. Her reason was that her father insulted her and she was scared that he may harm her because of his utterances during their short meeting.

As it stands not, it will take only the court for the young girl to be re-united with her family. The long awaited August 1, 2013 ruling of the Bida Sharia Court 1 may not even be the end, but beginning of a long legal battle
