Hoodlums Invade College, Rape Three Female Students In Ondo Posted: 08 Aug 2013 06:42 AM PDT Scores of students of the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, Ondo State staged a protest in the state capital on Tuesday, against alleged rape of their female colleagues by some suspected hoodlums. They alleged that three female students of the institution fell victim when the hoodlums invaded their campus in the early hours of Tuesday. The aggrieved students blocked the ever-busy Fiwasaye/Owo Road, causing a gridlock that lasted many hours. President of FECA Students Union, Mr. Oladapo Akindamini, explained that about five hoodlums allegedly led by a part-time student of the school, invaded the campus around midnight and headed for the female hostel. He said, "Other students were alerted by the noise from the female hostel only to discover that two of the female students had been raped while the third student was molested and cut with a machete. "Two other students were also wounded by the rapists. We have taken them to the general hospital for treatment." He added that the students, who were preparing for their examination, rushed out of their hostels and apprehended one of the hoodlums who was handed over to a security officer in the school. He said the officer kept the suspect in an open room instead of handing him over to the police. He added that the lapse gave the hoodlum the oportunuty to escape. Akindamini said, "The major grouse of the students was that the security personnel can no longer guarantee the safety of students and staff living within the school campus. "What further angered the students was the conduct of the Chief Security Officer who allowed one of the hoodlums arrested by the students to escape." The provost of the college however blamed the porous nature of the institution for the development and appealed to the Federal Government to complete the school's fencing project. She said, "It is true that some students were raped by the some of their colleagues who were on campus on part time basis. |
BBA: "2shotz Used To Beat Me" - Beverly Osu Posted: 08 Aug 2013 06:35 AM PDT I know Beverly lies a lot but I know this is not a lie. This is how Beverly Osu narrated her ordeal on BBA while dating Rapper 2shotz in real life: She tells the story of how her fiance used to beat, bully, maltreat her and act as Adolf Hitler on her head. I'm a guy but this is terrible, the sad thing is that women still stay with these goats that call themselves men. She even pulled her shirt up to show a scar while he was beating her in the bathroom. According to her, she dropped out of school, her friends were graduating, her mom did not want to see her. She was going through a lot and wanted some time alone, even away from her fiance. So on this fateful day, the domineering Hitler called her to find out where she was. To cut the long story short, when he saw her, from questioning her like Jack Bauer led to beating, attempting to escape the beating she ran to bathroom and locked the door after herself, but these guy still broke the door just to continue the beating. I get that she might have added jara, but I can vouch that she was maltreated. He even forced her to have an abortion. I know this might sound like a myth, as I have always believed that having an abortion is the woman's choice. But it's just saddening that women still stay in such relationships with all the pain. All I can say is that that her fiance (which I know is 2shotz) is disgrace to Nigerian men, esp Igbo men. After he got married to someone else he was still texting her, that should go out together. I want to say a big shout out to Men that men that treat their wives well, like an angel which they are, God will make you bigger. Shout to women that don't take bullshit from domineering men. God bless you. |
Why I Became a Deadly Robber –Godogodo Posted: 08 Aug 2013 06:30 AM PDT The infamous robbery tsar from South-West, Abiodun Ogunjobi, a.k.a., Godogodo, has revealed that lack of parental care was one of the main reasons why he became a deadly robber. Godogodo was responsible for terrorising the zone for over 14 years; he was in charge of most bank robberies and other deadly operations. On August 6, 2013, in an interview at the state Police Command headquarters, Ikeja, Lagos, he confessed that his parents abandoned him at an early age to fend for himself. 36-year-old notorious criminal spoke in emotional laden voice, said he was the eldest of the children and his mother who he said was a sickler, died from her sickness. My Father Was a Wayward Man "My father was a wayward man. He was a drug addict and a gambler. My mother was a sickler and she died after giving birth to my youngest brother. "But my father, who got married to another woman, didn't bother to take care of me. As a little child I struggled through primary school, picking bottles, iron and rubber from refuse dump. "The little money I made from it was what I used in paying my school fees in primary school and after I graduated I went into the business of robbery fully. "As a little boy I was sleeping on the street and my father didn't care. All he cared about was to gamble away his money and take drugs. "Gradually I started stealing and when I got of age I started robbing people at Katangura market, Iyana-Ipaja, but in 1999, I was arrested and sent to prison for fighting and when I came back some of the boys who were operating with me then had become big time robbers. I joined them and in one of our operations, I was shot in the eyes by some vigilante men that accosted us in Ogun State and I ended up losing one of my eyes. "I would say after that incident I became tough and very careful. I don't socialise, drink, smoke or go after women. I saw those things as weakness that could give out a tough man. I Have 3 Children from 3 Women "I have three children from three women. I ran away from my other wives because the police wanted to use them to arrest me. "I also want to make it clear that I didn't participate in all the robbery operations the police are accusing me of. People like me because I am not greedy, I make sure everybody gets their own share after a successful operation. "Some of these boys also go out on their own to rob and when they are arrested they will tell the police that they are my boys. "I can't lie anymore, I have been arrested. All I want is for the police to give me a second chance. I will assist them arrest all the robbers in Lagos and South-West." Godogodo Coordinated Ogun, Kwara Robberies – Suspect Meanwhile, Felix Sunday, a.k.a K Money who allegedly participated in two bank robberies in Kwara State and a bullion van robbery, in Ogun State, this year, has stated that Godogodo coordinated them. K Money has been seized in March 2013, after a deadly robbery attack at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. During this attack the members of K Money's gang killed two policemen and carted away huge sums of money from bureau de change operators at the airport. K Money told the newsmen that on January 2013, Godogodo and first assistiant, Odun Paul, coordinated them to rob in Oro town, Kwara State. "We were 12 in number and we went for that operation with eight AK-47 rifles. We struck at the banks around 5 p.m. that day and we started shooting indiscriminately. People ran away for safety and a member of the gang who is a dynamite expert blew open the bank doors with dynamite. "We went into FirstBank and carted away all the money in it and afterwards we struck at the opposite bank and did the same. "Nobody was killed in that operation because we operated unchallenged, after which we drove to Ondo State where we shared our loot. "I got N500,000 as my share and I was happy. "Few weeks after that operation, Godogodo called us for a bullion van operation. We attacked the van along Ijebu-Ode Sagamu Road in Ogun State and opened fire on the van which was not armoured. "We over-powered the policemen and took over the van containing both local and foreign currencies and we shared it. "Godogodo was a source of inspiration to all of us and whenever we had him around in an operation, we don't fear the police. "He had the ability to confront the police and overpower them. We didn't know he was going to be arrested this easily. He has boasted severally that he is going to kill a lot of policemen whenever they come for him and he did not care dying before his arrest. I don't know how the police did it but Godogodo is tough." [Vanguard] |

Any Party That Fields Jonathan As Its Candidate Will Lose Posted: 08 Aug 2013 06:08 AM PDT The All Progressives Congress, APC, is all out against President Goodluck Jonathan and his party, the PDP as they strategize on how to wrest power from the ruling party come 2015. "Fielding President Jonathan will be disastrous and it would amount to political suicide. The PDP itself also knows that it would be a double jeopardy if it fields the President in 2015. "This is because, having lost the moral ground to face the electorate in 2015, the performance of the President since the past years is even appalling." On Wednesday both parties continued their war of words over the suitability of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan for the presidential election. While the APC believes that fielding Jonathan as a candidate would be suicidal for any party, the Presidency and the PDP argued that he remains the best to win a presidential election in the country at present. The latest verbal war started after Tuesday's invitation to the President by APC National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, to join the newly formed political party if he is fed up with the crises in PDP. Akande had said, "We (the APC) don't even close our door to the PDP. If Jonathan is tired of the crises in the PDP, he is welcome in the APC." The Presidency however reacted immediately to the invitation, saying it was an acknowledgment by the APC of Jonathan's sterling leadership qualities. But in a chat with Punch, the Interim National Publicity Secretary of the party, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said it was bad that the Presidency did not read the statement credited to Akande before reacting. According to Lai Mohammed, "When we say the man (Jonathan) should come and join us, we mean that he should come and see how to run a crisis-free party. But unfortunately, his handlers like himself, are unable to read between the lines." |

Why Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Should Resign Now! Posted: 08 Aug 2013 05:50 AM PDT She was recently listed as one of the most powerful women in the world. Her name conjures up the image of an Amazon who symbolises excellence and the height of intellectual achievement. She is by no means a role model and a worthy example of the level Nigerian women can attain if given the opportunity to excel. There is also no doubt that the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, is one of Nigeria's proud exports. One cannot but admire her simplicity and self-effacing demeanour. Personally, I am in awe of her spartan fashion style. It portrays a woman not given to vanities or the mundane. For someone who has achieved global acclaim, one would expect her to wear her achievements like a diadem as most Nigerians of even lesser status are won't to do. But not so for our finance minister who is found to usually spot her simple Ankara fabric and trademark round head tie jauntily placed on her head. She seems not to take herself too seriously. By Bayo Olupohunda That Okonjo-Iweala is loved and spoken of in fond terms by ordinary Nigerians is also not in doubt. This outpouring of love was displayed in 2012 when she contested the position of the President of the World Bank. Many Nigerians rooted for her. Her quest to be African's first woman to head the Breton Wood institution became a national obsession. With the media rooting for her candidacy, her fellow citizens thought she was qualified to lead the foremost global financial institution. When she lost, Africa was disappointed. Prior to her 2003 appointment by Obasanjo as finance minister and head of the Economic Management Team, only a few Nigerians knew her. As a finance minister, she was known to have tenaciously used her influence to negotiate a deal with the Paris Club to pay a portion of Nigeria's external debt (US $12bn) in return for an $18bn debt write-off. Her role in the deal was widely acknowledged. During this time, the Harvard-trained economist was also known for her insistence on accountability in public spending and budgeting. Among many of her well-known achievements was the practice of publishing each state and local government's monthly financial allocations in the newspapers. This went a long way in increasing transparency in governance. She was also instrumental in helping Nigeria obtain its first ever sovereign credit rating (of BB minus) from Fitch and Standard & Poor's. Nigeria then was considered as having defaulted on its sovereign debt in 1983 (debt rescheduling is considered a type of default by rating agencies). In spite of the controversy that beclouded her removal by Obasanjo, Okonjo-Iweala left with her reputation intact as one of Nigeria's most hard-working and celebrated ministers of that era. She returned to the World Bank having been appointed as the Managing Director in 2007. To underscore the importance of the role she played in her first term, President Goodluck Jonathan appointed her as Minister of Finance with an expanded portfolio as the Coordinating Minister for the Economy in 2011. But how well has she performed in her second coming? Has the Jonathan administration provided the enabling environment for her economic policies to impact positively on the economy? As a coordinating minister, Okonjo-Iweala has extensive influence in shaping the direction of Jonathan's economic team and the transformation agenda. But that is as far as it goes. In this largely corrupt administration, she has shouted herself hoarse on the need to reduce Nigeria's bourgeoning recurrent expenditure which accounts for a large chunk of the national budget. She has harped on capital projects to reduce the worsening unemployment rate which she once said gives her sleepless nights. But the government she serves has so far not listened or does not seem to "give a damn". In spite of all her efforts, the economy is still in doldrums; poverty has worsened. This makes it strange that Okonjo-Iweala remains in a government that is on record to explicitly encourage corruption by not fighting it. Doesn't she feel a sense of frustration that her efforts at bringing the economy back have so far been a resounding failure? Does the minister not know that nothing she does will matter in the present political climate that encourages corruption and waste by public officials? Is she not concerned by the lack of political will by the President to fight economic crimes that are inimical to economic development? Okonjo-Iweala should know that no economic initiative will work in a country where corruption pervades the fabric of governance. How can interventions such as hers work in a corrupt country such as ours where public funds are stolen in a brazen manner by government officials with impunity? It is for this reasons that her efforts at reviving the economy will continue to hit a brick wall. No matter how sound the economic decisions she makes, they will be subverted somewhere along the line by economic and political saboteurs in and out of government. It is worse that the President allows them roam freely and gleefully. There is massive corruption in the land. The government is losing billions to oil thieves. This government is bloated which makes its running expensive. Instructively, no situation best symbolises Okonjo-Iweala's dilemma than the worsening unemployment rate. The figure released by the National Bureau of Statistics shows that unemployment rate has risen to 25 per cent. Historically, from 2006 until 2011, Nigeria's unemployment rate averaged 14.6 per cent reaching an all-time high of 23.9 per cent in 2011 and a record low of 5.3 per cent in 2006. Yet, it was in these years that Okonjo-Iweala was a minister. What has gone wrong? Let us not be too quick to blame it on global unemployment rate. The minister must be courageous enough to tell this government the home truth. I suspect the credibility she has built is at stake if she stays on to serve this government. How can a first class global technocrat like her be comfortable in a government that has refused to fight corruption; where the ruling elite engage in conspicuous consumption at the expense of the suffering masses? And, where a very few ruling class appropriate a large chunk of the treasury in outrageous salaries and allowances? Where is the economic and moral justification? It is also an antithesis that she is the finance minister to a government that encourages indiscriminate borrowing when she was known to have worked hard to make our country debt-free in her first coming. The Jonathan government is on a borrowing binge, ironically, at a time the country is earning huge oil revenue like never before. Now, the minister is defending this administration's N251bn debt-for-infrastructure debts. Something is definitely not right here. Recently, the Debt Management Office raised the alarm on Nigeria's debt profile which it says may hit $25bn (about N3.75 tr) by 2015. Our domestic debt also stands at more than N6tn, while foreign debt at the end of 2012 was more than $6.5bn. Even the governor of Central Bank, Lamido Sanusi, is alarmed. Hear him: "We are borrowing more money today at a higher interest rate while leaving the heavy debt burden for our children and grandchildren." Is the minister listening? Okonjo-Iweala should know that Nigerians hold her in high esteem. They also want her to succeed. But it is doubtful if this is possible with this licentious government. She must find the courage to resign if her efforts are being deliberately sabotaged, as they appear to discerning Nigerians. She should not continue to lend her hard earned name to this charade called Jonathan's administration. There is no use rescuing a sinking ship whose captain lacks the will to steer it in the right direction. (bayoolupohunda@yahoo.com) |
TRAGEDY: Landlord Sets 6 Youths Ablaze Over Indian Hemp Posted: 08 Aug 2013 05:48 AM PDT The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a middle-aged man, Mukaila Adebesin, for allegedly setting ablaze six people in Ita Balogun Compund, Ago-Oko, Abeokuta. It was gathered that the victims were allegedly set ablaze by Adebesin at 7pm because they were gambling and smoking Indian hemp on his premises. The victims are: Adesanya, 20, Sulaiman Adebesin, 20, Saburi Seteolu 18, Raheem Bello 19, Azeez Alabi 20, and Kola Sodeinde 19.A witness who pleaded anonymity told Punch that Adebesin, a commercial bus driver, had just returned from an outing when he saw the six youths in his compound. He said, "Their activities made the driver engage them in an argument. As the talks became heated, Adebesin reached for a can of petrol which he emptied on them. The victims attempted to flee when it dawned on them that the liquid poured on them was petrol. "But they caught fire from a stick of the Indian hemp being smoked by one of them. They suffered high degree burns due to the incident." Adebesin, who is currently being detained at Oke-Itoku Police Station, was said to have turned himself in to the police immediately after the incident. Other youths in the area, on learning of the development, stormed Adebesin's compound, and vandalised his apartment and injured his wife who is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said that investigations had already commenced into the matter. "Adebesin might be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations. He said four of the youths had been admitted at the General Hospital, Ijaiye, while two others were taken to a private clinic for treatment. "Information available to us is that the suspect had an argument with the youths before he poured PMS on them. For now, we cannot ascertain other circumstances that led to the incident but we have the suspect in our custody." The police has warned youths in the area not to engage in any reprisals, or risk arrest. |

Funny, but this is the case of former BBA winner, Karen Igho. When she returned to Nigeria after winning millions in BBA a lot of guys were rushing her but she didn't have their time, believing that "all of them are after my money". And unfortunately for her, now that she has spent her money alone, no guy is interested in her "thing" so far. See what Karen said about her not having sex for 2 years below: Now she says she is waiting for her Mr Right.....hope she finds one soon. |

Dear OBB readers: How do I leave one brother for another? Posted: 07 Aug 2013 01:04 PM PDT From a female OBB reader This is not a made up story believe me. For over two years I was constantly praying to meet my dream man and it finally happened but it happened in the most bizarre manner. I met this really nice looking dude at shoprite Lagos about a month ago and I really liked him and was considering dating him but then he invited him to his friend's child naming ceremony just last week and I met his older brother. His older brother is my dream man. Since I met him I haven't been able to stop thinking about him. The worst or best part is that he is single and was even telling me to hook him with any single female friend of mine. How do I tell this guy I am interested in him when he already thinks I'm his younger brother's girlfriend? I'm not! I've only been out a few times with his brother and only kissed him twice, no sex, no intimacy, none of that stuff but I don't know what his brother has told him about me. Please I need your candid advise, I want this guy so bad but how do I get him? And who should I open up to first about how I feel, my friend or his brother? |

Policeman Caught On Camera Demanding Bribe Has Been Dismissed From The Police Force Posted: 07 Aug 2013 12:46 PM PDT Sergeant Chris Omeleze of Lagos State Command Motor Traffic Division, Force number 192954, who was caught on camera demanding for bribe has just been dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force. He was found guilty as charged in an Orderly room trial that was concluded earlier today. In as much as i'm against what he did, I still think dismissing him is not the best solution because at the end of the day, he will end up being an armed robber. I think an alternative punishment should be given to him. Nigeria is a country where it is allowed to punish a poor policeman but political hoodlums eat their cakes and still have them. |
