What a Director Did to Me Because of Séx ––Actress Laitan Revels

Posted: 09 Dec 2013 07:18 AM PST

Laitan Ogungbile, popularly known as Suga, is a fast-rising actress who loves her job very passionately and she believes her talent will help her to rise to the top, but some men in the industry are giving her wahala.
It is believed that in the Nigerian movie industry, when you are out on location, many things happen like exchange of séx for roles. How would you react to this? To me, it's not a do-or-die affair. If anybody believes he has to sleep with you before giving you a role, you have the right to accept or reject such offer. I have gone through many experiences but I have never experienced such. If I like you, fine, I can date you.

You talked about going through many experiences, how did you handle such situations?
Like the one that happened a long time ago, though it was an English-speaking movie, I met with the woman who was to act as my mother while Kola Oyewo was to be my father. At the last stage of the movie, people really appreciated me for the way I interpreted the role, they were so excited about my talent but suddenly, the director of the movie came and demanded for séx. I cried and called Uncle Muyiwa Ademola, he told me to be calm and prayerful. I told Ayo Adesanya and Sunny Alli too.
Initially, I thought it was a joke because we had almost concluded the movie and in fact, the costumier had called me to come for the last costume of the last set, but to my astonishment, the director was very resolute about his devilish plans and insisted that if I couldn't sleep with him, I should go home!

How To Get A Boyfriend: 3 Powerful Steps

Posted: 09 Dec 2013 07:14 AM PST

1. Guys Are Cats
The first thing to say on the subject of learning how to get a guy want you is that you need to realise that men are just like cats. Sounds a little weird? Hear me out! Ever see a cat chase after a toy that is just sitting there? I certainly haven't. However, when it's dangled in front of them but still remains slightly out of reach, they literally go crazy for it. They jump around, chase, sprint and pretty much will do whatever it needs to do to catch this "just out of reach" toy.

Bizarrely, guys are exactly the same. If you are easy to win over or not a challenge and just wait there for a guy to "catch" you, then you can be pretty sure that he's not going to be that interested in you. But if you are fun, exciting, playful, flírty, just out of reach, then he is going to be a lot more likely to desire and chase after you. By the way, if you want to learn how to talk dirty to attract and keep your man, then you may be interested in watching this presention

2. Let's Be Honest For A Second…
The second thing that I have to say on the topic of learning how to get a guy to like you is maybe not something you want to hear… but it's vital. There are certain attraction triggers that will make guys like you and see you in a totally different light (read: an attractive light).

Here are the 3 most important:

Are You Healthy? Going to the gym in of itself doesn't make you healthy. Eating right isn't the only important factor to being healthy. Being thin is a goal of many women, but again this may not necessarily make you healthier. But combining these 3 things, going to the gym, maintaining a healthy weight and eating right is going to massively contribute to being much healthier. You see, guys aren't really looking for a skinny woman, gym bunny or a nutritious eater. They are naturally attracted to someone who is healthy. Being lean is the result of being healthy. So ask yourself, "Am I doing everything possible to be healthy?"

Do You Dress To Impress? The next thing I want to talk about is how you dress. I am absolutely not talking about being fashionable. Being fashionable is certainly fun, but it you are keen to make a guy want you and chase you, then you should think more about dressing attractively to accentuate your good points.

I can honestly tell you this as guy: men just don't care about fashion nearly as much as women do. As a result, we often don't even notice the latest trends or what's hot. So to reiterate, rather than dressing fashionably, dress attractively. The difference is often subtle, but it's crucial to making a guy want to be with you. Debbie Downer Or Susie Smiles? I know "Susie Smiles" sounds a little cheesy, but I hope you get my point. Are you a fun person to be around, a depressing person to be around, or a boring person to be around? The majority of guys don't want to hang around a girl that's boring or depressing, no matter how attractive she is. They'd prefer to run a mile, to be perfectly honest. So when I say that you should be a fun person and a positive person to be around, I don't mean that you should be some sort of psycho-happy-all-the-time person. I'm saying that you should do your best to see the good in the world and be at least a little bit more positive.

3. Are You Available All The Time Or Do You Have Your Own Life?
The final thing I have to say on getting a guy to like you is that you absolutely need to have your own life when it comes to dating, and even just attracting a guy. Again, this comes down to the fact that guys don't want what they can easily have (remember the cat analogy above?). So rather than always being available to hang out with a guy, make sure that you have your own life, interests and fun things to do (and invite him to). This will make you seem way, way more valuable in his eyes.

And One More Thing… Great Séx
While figuring out how to get a guy to like you is important, learning how to keep him is crucial if you want things to progress. One of the best ways to keep him attracted to you is through having great séx. If you want a masterclass in how to talk dirty to your man to keep him attracted, then you should watch a tutorial presentation (with examples). If you don't already know how to give great oral séx.

Woman Confesses: ''I Come To Lagos To Buy Stolen Babies''

Posted: 09 Dec 2013 07:10 AM PST

Detectives at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, Lagos, western Nigeria have intensified efforts to recover all the stolen babies allegedly bought by an Onitsha-based human trafficker who was arrested in Lagos last Monday for purchasing a stolen two-year old baby.

This followed the confessional statement made by the trafficker, Mrs. Grace Onye, 52. Onye told the police that she specialises in the illegal business of buying babies in Lagos for sale to those who required them.
In her confession, she admitted that it was not her first time of coming to Lagos to buy babies, adding that she had been coming to Lagos to buy babies in the past three years. She told the police that she sold all the babies to those in need, especially barren women.
She was arrested along with her customer, 45-year old Mrs. Ngozi Ikeh who is barren and needed a child. They were arrested at Ikotun in the morning while going back to Ontisha with a stolen baby sold to them for N300,000 by their contact man who is now at large.
The suspects confessed that they had a contact man simply identified as Samuel who usually lodged them at Francis Inn Hotel located at Abiola Adeyemi Street, Igando Road, Ikotun whenever they are in Lagos to buy babies. Grace confessed further that it was in that hotel that Samuel brought the baby and collected N300,000.
Joy Olowolade, the two-year old stolen baby was allegedly kidnapped at 6, Oladunjoye Street, off Igando Road, Ikotun Lagos. Samuel abducted the baby at the stated address in a dramatic form around 4 p.m. on Monday when he threw a banger in the compound where Joy was playing with other kids.
The sound of the banger caused confusion in the compound and the children ran away in different directions. When the dust settled, Joy was nowhere to be found.
Her elder sister, Eniola Olowolade, after a frantic search for her, alerted her parents, Ayodele and Funke Olowolade, of her disappearance. Funke explained that one of her neighbours confirmed that she saw the man who snatched the baby during the confusion that greeted the explosion of the banger.
Olowolade and neighbours later arranged themselves in groups to look for the missing baby. They searched for Joy in every house and street in the neighbourhoods but could not find her.
Narrating her experience, Funke stated: "It all happened like a dream, Joy told me she was hungry and I was preparing her food when she went out to play with her friends in the compound.
Within the twinkling of an eye Eniola rushed in to tell us that somebody threw a banger in the compound and everybody ran away. She said she didn't see Joy when the commotion died down.
We searched all the nooks and crannies till midnight. She was nowhere to be found," Funke said.
At about 4 a.m. the following day, the Olowolades and their neighours moved round the streets again looking for Joy. They saw a woman walking briskly and carrying a baby on her back with her friend. Somebody shouted the name of the missing baby and Joy answered 'ma.'
Immediately the baby answered, the trafficker and her friend ran. They tried to drop the baby but they were caught by the rescuers. They were beaten and later handed over to the police at Ikotun division who transferred them to the SCID for further investigation.

On Wednesday December 4th, openly gay talk show host, Xavier Bettel (pictured left) was sworn in as the Prime Minister of Luxemburg, while another openly gay man, Etienne Schneider, (pictured right) was made his deputy, making Luxemburg the first county in the world with gay men filling the top two spots in its government
"People do not consider the fact of whether someone is gay or not. Sometimes it's not easy because you have some conservative persons, but there are always less and less and less. I think people vote for my character and they vote for my full party." Bettel said

"Gay weddings will be done soon. At the moment in Luxembourg, we have to change the situation of marriage, religion and divorce laws. But I don't think it'll be in the next five years – it'll be next year." Prime Minister Bettel promised.

Remove Ban from Tuface, D’banj, Others – PMAN to Nigerian Broadcasters

Posted: 09 Dec 2013 07:04 AM PST

The Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) has intervened in the conflict between broadcasters and some Nigerian musicians.
Remove Ban From Tuface, D'banj, Others – PMAN to Nigerian Broadcasters
The Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) and the Independent Broadcasters' Association of Nigeria (IBAN) banned the airplay of some selected Nigerian musicians over payment of royalties as demanded by the Copyright Society of Nigeria, COSON. Some of the artistes affected by the ban include Tuface Idibia, D'banj, and Wizkid.
The PMAN, in a statement by its interim president, Kevin Lucciano, asked all parties involved to dialogue and resolve the controversy.
The association also called for the lifting of the ban describing it as unfair, demeaning and discouraging.
"The ban on airplay of these Nigerian artistes and their music on various Nigerian media platforms is from our standpoint very unfair, demeaning and discouraging.
"We all know without a doubt that these same artistes who have persevered and assisted us to build, today what is known as the Nigerian music industry, Africa's biggest entertainment export to the world are the same people that are now being victimized," the association said.
"With this action, the association foresees a situation where this ban will, rather than encourage well meaning members of the society, with musical talent to hone their craft and join the success story of the entertainment industry, reverse will be the case.
"We also foresee a situation where the bulk of the material that will be circulated on Nigerian airwaves will be foreign materials, celebrating alien artistes instead of embracing, home grown talent and our cultural heritage".

In his reaction, entertainment lawyer, Demilade Olaosun, said the ban is as a result of what BON termed "COSON's attitude of antagonism and harassment under the leadership of Tony Okoroji (COSON Chairman)".
He explained that COSON has insisted that it is very well within its rights as a collecting society, to which very many Nigerian artistes have assigned copyrights in their works, to seek out royalties from entities exploiting them and make returns on such royalties received.
He said that the promotional activities of some artistes wherein they pay some radio stations to facilitate a heavy rotation of their music on air may have led some of these stations to have the erroneous perception that they are in fact doing the industry a favour by playing these works and this should therefore exempt them from paying royalties.
The lawyer said that the payment by these artistes to secure airplay is entirely different from COSON's brief to secure royalty payments on the works being exploited; as it is a statutory requirement that an author of a work must obtain some benefit from the exploitation of the works by a third party.
Demilade further said although BON/IBAN have the right to control the content they air, they must with the terms of their broadcasting license which mandates a minimum of 60 per cent local broadcast content for open television and 80 per cent local broadcast content for radio; while cable/satellite retransmission stations are mandated to reflect a minimum of 20 per cent local content in their programming. He believes that indigenous music constitute a large part of what makes up the local content and it must be accorded the value it deserves.
"If BON is to insist on its position, it goes without saying that all songs employed as jingles for adverts (which is where the large part of their revenue come from) must also be stopped on these media platforms," he said.
He concluded by calling on the National Broadcasting Commission to, in furtherance of its statutory duties, regulate and control the broadcast industry, uphold the principles of equity and fairness in broadcasting, and promoting Nigerian indigenous culture.

 could this be real?

What Was That?

Posted: 09 Dec 2013 06:37 AM PST

What Was That?
I knew I didn't love him anymore.
The only man that genuinely loved me. Or, rather, acted it out so well.
Adinoyi.
From the way my shoulders slouched on sighting his beautiful face at my gate, and my heart sank deeper within me eliciting intense feeling of irritation, I knew the cord that once held our hearts together was severed. I hadn't approved of his visit to my place that day. But when he appeared at my gate, I was clueless. It had been happening that way since the past three years. Yet, it was impossible for me to keep him out even if I wanted to, because, hard as it was for me to admit it, he was still special to me. I was sure it was the specialty he was mistaking for love. Once more my guilty conscience assailed me with inquiries about my actual love for this man from the onset as I unbolted the small black gate that secured my two rooms apartment to let him in. As always, I found no answer to those inquiries, simply because they lied with my old self which was long dead.

I welcomed Adinoyi with a greeting not louder than a mumble. He responded with pressing me against his hard body. His scent filled my nostrils as my head pressed against his chest. He never used cologne. Not like he smelt bad anyway. His scent brought back regretful scenes of the night I'd taken in all of him, a scene that haunted me unending for two years, and I cleared it off with a sigh. It had been that easy for me to handle since after then.
"How are you?" he asked, planting a kiss noisily on my left cheek and flashing his front set of obviously artificial teeth. Each time I saw those teeth, I imagined how rough he used to be before I met him. That was a part of him I was yet to experience. He had told me the story of how he lost those teeth in a fight just once, and it had strangely stuck to my memory since then. With the subtle way he treated me, it probably no longer existed, but a part of me didn't believe that.
"I'm fine," I replied without smiling, walking back into the house. Someone suddenly bumped into me. Otoyinoyi! I stretched my hand and hit him on the back.
"Have you lost your manners, or do you think I'm a piece of furniture?" I demanded with a glare. Without apologising, he ran into his father's hands, scratching the part of his back where my hand had touched him. Otoyinoyi was a carbon copy of his father. The pliable lips, the black eyes . Except that he was a darker version.
For a while, his father just stared at me.
"Is that the way you treat him?" he asked in a whisper, amazed.
"Didn't you see what just happened? Besides, you're not the one training him," I snapped. Instead of getting upset, Adinoyi began to laugh. That soft, hearty laughter I knew him with.
"But I told you to marry me so that we can train him together and you refused,"
"You'll grow green hair waiting for me," I mumbled.
"Hey, this woman!" he exclaimed, "but the green hair has yellowed already,"
I forced back a laugh making its way to my throat. "Adinoyi, what do you want? I've told you to stop visiting." My face assumed its usual grim appearance. At this moment, Oloyinoyi left his father's hand and went back to face the TV screen where he had been since the past two hours. Since I slapped him the last time for standing with us listening to our conversation, he had learned to use his senses. I watched him pick up his game pad and return to his video game, then I turned back to Adinoyi. Not necessarily that I disapproved of his listening to us, but even if he wanted to, courtesy demanded that he shouldn't show it.
"Ebiere, it's been ten years!" Adinoyi whispered. I looked into his eyes. The longing for me was still there. As fresh as ever. I wanted to tell him to swear that he hadn't seen underneath the cloth of any other woman since then, but I already knew the response. He would swear till heaven came down on us.
"There are ladies outside, Adinoyi. Heavy girls!"
He smiled and shook his head at my utterance.
"I don't need you to tell me that,"
"Then go with them. Go and stop pestering my life," I said, irritation clogging my mind.
"Get me one first," he joked. I laughed for just a moment, sighed and took my seat on one of the single leather sofas in my sitting-room. He was still standing when I turned.
"So, you won't even offer me a seat," he inquired. I sighed in exasperation.
"That's the problem with you men. You always want the women to do everything for you. Even poke your nose to remove dried mucus obstructing your breathing."
"Ebiere, you're a woman. Stop being stubborn!"
"Indeed,"
I watched him finally settle into a white plastic chair near the door. He stretched out his legs before him and began to undo the upper buttons of his shirt.
"I'm thirsty." he yawned. I looked him from head to toe and let out a low hiss. Another smile appeared on his face when he saw my reaction.
"But, why do you hate me so much, what have I done to you that's so unforgivable?"
"You keep asking unnecessary questions. You put me in this condition I've been unable to get out of."
"I've accepted responsibility. And you know why everything happened the way it did. I'm good now. Let's get married,"
"You think I'm a fool?" I asked, wide eyed.
"So, you want to remain this way, alone?"
"You taught me. Now, it's my life,"
"Living alone is the life of a prostitute."
I turned away from my TV screen and faced him.
"How I so wish I had been one, Adinoyi." I said, narrowing my gaze, "I should have been a whore, used my life to the full, then get married. That way, I can accept whatever a man does to me." By the time I finished, I was blinking uncontrollably to keep back tears that were forming in my eyes as memories made their ways back to my mind. The hawking to keep us, the abandonment at the hospital, my eventual disappearance, his sudden appearance.
"Then you should have done that if that should have made marrying you easier for me,"
I didn't find his statement in the least funny. Instead, I felt sparks in my head.
"Adinoyi, get out!" I got up, walked to the door and held it open. Adinoyi's mouth was agape when I turned.
"Get out, please," I insisted.
"Ebiere…"
"Yes, I mean it, and don't come back,"
He didn't get up until several minutes after. As he got up to leave, I knew from his downcast gaze that he was awash with embarrassment. Probably, this was the most he could take from me, I thought frightfully.
As I watched him walk silently out of my apartment into the darkness that had taken over outside, I waited patiently for my own life to end too.

Rev Father Pulls Out Gun, Threatens To Shoot Church Members in Imo State

Posted: 09 Dec 2013 06:01 AM PST

It appears we are truly approaching the much talked about end time. As you read this, a Catholic priest in Imo State is being investigated by the police after reports that he was illegally in possession of weapons.

The Reverend Father is said to be in charge of a parish in the Dikenafai environs of the Ideato South LGA of the state. He is said to have threatened members of his parish and endangered their lives with three unlicensed guns believed to be in his possession, without approval.

As a result of the Reverend Father's action, many are now afraid of going to the church.
Crime Guard reliably gathered that the guns which include one pump action riffle, one double-barrelled gun and a locally-made pistol allegedly belonging to the priest were recovered from his official residence by operatives of Special Armed Robbery Squad, SARS, Imo State Police Command acting on a tip off from some concerned parishioners.

Described as a very controversial priest, the reverend father was arrested and detained briefly but granted bail by the police following the intervention of some influential religious and political leaders in the state.

Police sources said that the controversy surrounding the Catholic priest stemmed from a tragedy that occurred in January 2010, after the death of a prominent indigene of the area.

Meanwhile, investigation into the case is ongoing by the police to ascertain the source of the guns and possibly the actual purposes they are being used for.
The Rev Father may be charged to court after full police investigation had been concluded.

Two die, others injured in Lagos multiple accidents

Posted: 09 Dec 2013 05:44 AM PST

Scenes of a multiple accident on the Otedola bridge, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Lagos... on Sunday.
An unidentified woman and a pregnant lady were said to have died in the multiple accidents which occurred close to Otedola Bridge, along the Alausa area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Saturday.
A large number of people were also said to have sustained injuries in the accidents.
The accidents, which happened about three times, were as a result of a series of multiple collisions involving over 25 vehicles.
The first accident was said to have been caused by an NNPC tanker with number plate, XG 321 MKA.
The tanker was allegedly on top speed and had a brake failure.
It rammed into the vehicle in front. Eyewitnesses said the development led to further collisions as other vehicles, which had slowed down because of the traffic snarl on the expressway, ran into one another due to the impact of the tanker.

The driver was said to have also throw smaller vehicles off its way.
The collisions led to two cargo trucks being pushed off the road, while the advancing NNPC tanker dragged a Toyota Camry along until it was stopped by the two cargo vehicles, one of which had fallen.
When our correspondent visited the scene on Sunday, part of the bonnet of the Camry car was trapped under one of the cargo vehicles.
Shortly after the first accident, a saloon car which was waiting for the occupants to catch a glimpse of the accident scene was also said to have been hit by another vehicle from behind.
This also led to further collisions. A woman in the saloon car was said to have died instantly while others in the car, including two children sustained minor injuries.
An eyewitness, Mr. Amos Ogah, who was in one the cargo vehicles that was involved in the first accident, said, "We were from Victoria Island going to Calabar when we met a holdup here. We were moving slowly when the NNPC tanker suddenly hit some vehicles behind us.
"I was looking at the tanker through the mirror and I could see that the driver had lost control.
"After the accident, a Toyota Hiace bus and a salon car which were waiting for their occupants to have a look at the scene of the accident were hit by another jeep. This also led to further collisions."
According to Ogah, more than 10 vehicles were involved in the collisions.
Some hours later, a speeding truck belonging to Seven-Up Bottling Company also rammed into vehicles in the gridlock which had extended far behind the first accident scene.
More than 15 vehicles which were affected skidded off the road and stopped about some feet away from a ditch along the expressway.
At the scene of the third accident, which was about 100meters away from the scene of the earlier ones, were nine vehicles, including the Seven-Up truck and a Toyota Hiace.
A victim, Mrs. Kunbi Tuaklilawson, who escaped the third accident unhurt, but with her Lexus jeep badly damaged, said she was held up in the traffic jam till around 10pm when she suddenly heard a big bang behind her.
Tuaklilawson, whose vehicle had number plate, AGL 567 AM, said, "I was driving from Surulere and we were in the hold up when the accident happened.
"We suddenly heard a big bang from behind. We discovered that it was the Seven-Up vehicle, which was on top speed, was the one which ran into the vehicles behind us. All of a sudden several other bangs followed and before we knew it, we were being pushed off the road."
The driver of the Hiace bus, Mr. Solomon Okemuyiwa, said apart from him, three other persons in the bus  sustained injuries.
He said the bus belonged to Radisson Blue Company and the persons in the bus were workers of the company.
He said, "I got to the scene of the accident around 10.35pm. We were in the holdup when we were suddenly hit by the Seven-Up truck. Our bus tumbled."
A policeman from Isheri Police Station, who simply identified himself as Adewale, said the Seven-Up vehicle might have had brake failure.
Adewale, who was in mufti, said his station in Isheri became aware of the first accident around 8pm on Saturday and was at the scene along with other policemen and officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority when the other accidents happened.
He said,"We were told about the accident about 8pm. We were rescuing victims and evacuating some of the affected vehicles when the other accidents happened."
A text message from the Director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Idowu Fadipe, said, "The muliple accidents claimed two lives; a pregnant lady and one other lady. Several people were injured and were taken to the hospital."

Nelson Mandela’s death

Posted: 09 Dec 2013 05:43 AM PST

Nelson Mandela
Even after the South African Government moved the Intensive Care Unit to Nelson Mandela's house and turned Mandela's room to an ICU, still, the stubborn cold hands of death snatched the 'Madiba' from the hands of the best of the best health professionals, and the loving hands of his people.
Though his exit didn't come as a shock, because his health had been on the downward slope for some time, we are grieving, for we have lost the world's greatest peace loving man. He never paid back those people that subjected him to 9,869 days of untold hardship in appalling conditions just for asking for what was rightfully his and his people. Even though he doesn't need  "do or die" politics to rule for second term because he was the favourite, still, he voluntarily relinquished his position as a president.
Madiba, the perfect gentleman, can rest now, knowing that  his incomparable legacy will forever live on. The whole world will miss him.

Today, as the world mourns the legendary Mandela who passed on on Thursday. The media is awash with tributes and eulogies by world leaders about the virtues of the late sage, Madiba. But beyond these obvious mouthful eulogies, let all African leaders and politicians learn and follow his exemplary legacy of true patriotism, selflessness, incalculable sacrifice, true democracy, politics of peace and unity, and unfeigned love and struggle for his people. They should repent of their politics of greed, corruption, self-enrichment, self-centredness and the devilish appetite for hanging on to power at all cost to the detriment and even destruction of the people they pretend to love and lead. They should follow the steps of the man who spent 27 years in jail for the freedom of his people but humbly chose to stay only one term as president though he had the right and opportunity to continue in office. In Nigeria today, the greed for hanging on to power for self-enrichment – second term, third term etc. – is tearing the ruling party and close brothers apart, overheating the system and may lead to a national conflagration! May God, in His mercy, compel our leaders to see and follow the world-acclaimed virtuous steps of Mandela for their own good and that of the entire nation.

Our leaders in Nigeria ought to learn great lessons from this legend of our time. He was selfless to the course of liberating his people. It wasn't for amassing wealth like all our so-called leaders who are corrupt and only pursue inordinate ambitions. The love of the people is not their intent but amassing wealth for their unborn generations. Let any one of them who has not stolen or converted public funds for personal and family use raise his/her hands.

The soul that burnt for other to live on; the body that felt the pains of struggle for others; the mouth that protested and spoke facts for others' interest; a freeman who was sent to jail and cage in prison for other to walk freely; the elephant had gone home. So it is true that life is vanity. Mandela left a stature of himself, a leader, a brother, an African, a legend, an impartial soul.

Relationships – 4 Tips For Effective Communication

Posted: 09 Dec 2013 05:39 AM PST

If you want your relationship to work, you have to communicate. Being able to talk openly about how you feel and address any concerns you have, makes for a much stronger relationship. Check out our tips for communicating more effectively with your partner.
1. LISTEN TO EACH OTHER
Taking time to listen to your partner means more than just nodding and smiling as they talk. Drop what you're doing, make eye contact and give the other person your full attention. You can't fully concentrate on what someone else is saying if you're texting or checking email at the same time

2. SET ASIDE TIME TO TALK
It's so easy to get so caught up in the stress of everyday life that you never actually sit down and talk to your significant other. Rather than let too much time lapse between real conversations (i.e. about more than just who forgot to get groceries), set aside some time each day to talk. Head to a coffee shop or favorite pub so you're out of the house; a fresh setting often stimulates conversation.
3. BE SURE TO ASK QUESTIONS
Good communication means your conversations aren't one-sided. Really engage with your partner by asking questions that will help you understand how they're feeling or what they're trying to get across to you. Stumped on what to ask? Check out these conversation sparking questions:
• What was the biggest challenge you faced this week?
• What are you most proud of doing this year?
• If you could give your 16-year old self one piece of advice, what would it be?
• If you could trade lives with any celebrity for a day who would it be and why?
• What would the perfect day consist of for you?
• If you could go anywhere in the world for an all expenses paid dream vacation where would you go and why?
4. DON'T BE A KNOW-IT-ALL
It can be frustrating to talk to someone who thinks they know everything about whatever it is you're telling them. Good communication means listening and asking questions without taking over the conversation with your own opinions. It's okay to offer advice, but it's counterproductive to do all the talking.

Ebute Meta Magistrate's court
A 25-year-old man, Mohammed Ganiu, has been arraigned before an Ebute Meta Magistrate's Court for allegedly burgling an apartment and stealing items estimated at N645, 000.
The police said the defendant carted away phones, cash, and jewellery of the complainant, Oladimeji Kayode.

He was said to have bought one of the stolen phones from the real suspects who were at large.
Ganiu was asked to lead the police to where he bought the phone.
The defendant allegedly alerted the real suspects that the police was on their trail, leading to their escape.

The charge read in part, "That you, Mohammed Ganiu, and others at large, sometime in May, 2013,at 2am at 22 Jebba Street, Ebute Meta, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did steal the following items; Z10 phone, BlackBerry Bold 5, BlackBerry Torch 2, Nokia Express Music and White Asha phone all valued at N200,000, gold jewelry valued at N370,000 and cash of S500 totalling N645,000, property of one Oladimeji Kayode."

How A Reader Was Duped.. Gives Tips On Booking A Flight

Eyah she lost about £2000 to a fake agency and she wants us all to be alert at this period. And again we need to be careful with airlines customer carepeople. Some of them are thieves. There was a problem yesterday on a ticket I bought on Tuesday, didn't notice until yesterday, but because it was on Sunday, I thought they would not be opened at all. So I googled their phone numbers, and spoke to the guy who picked it up. Alas he started grumbling, madam there is nothing we can do about it bla bla bla… Long story cut short, he asked me to come to their office, the one by the airport and gave me his personal gsm number and said madam, it's 10k o. I was like ok cool cool. At least I won't be paying the real fee any more with his help. But then something struck me and I said, ahn ahn, why should I be cheated in my country, in fact I'm going straight to their office (not the place I bought the ticket), the airport own, so I ignored the guy and went straight to their office.....

And guess what? It was no issue at all. I just had to wait a little…like 30mins, and everything was done. I was forced to give the guy I met there 3k(dash). I was like why did the guy who picked the airline's customer care service call said I was going to pay 150dollars for the mistake, but he can help out if I can pay him 10k. That was how I left. Well, me I don't care o, I still have the guys number, if Arik, needs it they can send me a mail to get it. Did I tell you he kept calling me every minute as I was driving to their office? In fact, I wanted to ask of him there, so I can say it to his face that he is a big thief and shouldn't be working here, but then I checked my time and said, I'm off, I need to go and blog, lol, so I left. Bottom line, it's xmas and everyone is looking for money.
THE Reader's Story (undiluted)
Hi Ladun
I'm a frequent visitor of your blog and I appreciate the fact that you make it a point to share with the public information that you feel is quite necessary. So, please I would like you to share this on your blog. My family and I booked a flight recently from the UK to Nigeria with a travel agency we found online which offered us a quite affordable price amongst all the others we had tried and hence we went for it. They required an upfront deposit of £100 and the full payment a few months after. This we did. And today we've tried to reach him for the electronic ticket which they promised to send us a few days after the complete payment only to find that the phone numberdoes not exist and the email address with which we have been corresponding frequenty through does not exist anymore and we received mailer daemon replies. so please could you share this on your blog that NO ONE SHOULD BOOK WITH http://www.travelcheapuk.co.uk/ THEY ARE SCAMMERS and instead of holidays with family memebers and friends you'll just break your heart and loose all the money you saved up.
Please please please. Even though now we've told ourselves that shit happens and life goes on, I really do not want anyone to suffer what I and my family are going through this holiday season £2000 down the drain when we aren't even Santa Claus. I've also gone online at http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g186216-i15-k6426893-Has_anybody_booked_a_flight_with_www_travelcheapuk_co_uk-United_Kingdom.html and this was where I saw others who went through the same thing and it sank in that we had been scammed.
Tips to follow when booking an airline
1) Book your flights directly from the airline
2) when a price is too good to be true it probably is
3)Unless its impossible for you please go into the office of the travel agency yourself and carry out whatever you have to
4)Trust your sixth sense, sometimes our instincts know better than we do.
please share.
Thank you.

Ex-Super Eagles star, Sodje, implicated in UK match-fixing scandal

Posted: 09 Dec 2013 05:20 AM PST

34year old ex-Super Eagles star, Sam Sodje is currently been investigated in a match-fixing scandal in the UK. Sam, who is the younger brother of footballer Efe sodje, was allegedly caught on tape telling an undercover reporter with The Sun UK magazine that he was paid £70,000 to be sent off the field during a championship match on February 23rd 2013. Footage from the football match showed Sam Sodje hitting the crotch of Oldham Athletic's player Jose Baxter, repeatedly for no reason which ultimately earned him a red card. Sam admitted to the undercover reporter that his actions were all preplanned for him to be sent off the pitch. He also said it was easy to get other footballers to do same for a fee. Sam practically ended his football career by collecting £12,000 from the undercover reporter, on tape, for other match fixings.

The British Tabloid has reported its investigation to the National Crime Agency, and NCA said an active investigation is now underway.

Man Who Sued the Dominican Republic Because it Rained Has Been Punished for Irrational Claims

The man who sued the Dominican Republic because it rained during his vacation has been labelled a "quarrelsome litigant" by a Quebec judge.
Being labelled as such means Bruno Leduc can no longer file a lawsuit unless he gets prior authorization from the court.
Labelling a citizen a "quarrelsome litigant" in Quebec is an uncommon procedure. A judge must believe that someone "often demonstrates stubbornness and narcissism" and his or her claims are "at the limit of being rational."
Court documents state that Leduc filed 70 small claims against people or companies over the past several years. Within three months in 2012, Leduc filed 19 claims.

Court of Quebec Justice Diane Quenneville ruled last month that "the court has no hesitation to conclude that Leduc is abusing the justice system."
Quenneville's written ruling included some of Leduc's more frivolous claims.
Leduc sued the consulate of the Dominican Republic as well as airline Transat, for damages, because it rained when he spent time in the country, and because he hurt his leg when he descended the airplane.
Leduc sued Cosco Wholesale Canada for $500 because staff took too long to put a lawn mower that he wanted to purchase, on his carriage.
Air Canada staff kicked Leduc off a plane when he wouldn't move to the economy class seat he had paid for, from the business class seat he was sitting in. He responded by suing the airline for over $4,000.
Leduc's court claims totalled $114,000 since the year 2000.
QMI Agency was unable to reach Leduc's attorney on Saturday.

Man To Pay Ex N8.7m For ‘Breach Of Promise

broken ring
A man who left his fiancée for another woman has been ordered to pay her $55,000 (N8,703,750)for "breach of promise".
Christopher Kelley, from Georgia, was sued by his ex-, Melissa Cooper.
Ms Cooper had a child by him and had quit her job and raised this child, as well as Mr Kelley's child by a previous relationship.
In 2004, Mr Kelley proposed and gave her a ring valued at approximately $11,000.
When Ms Cooper discovered he was cheating on her for the second time he reportedly told her to move out.

The jilted lover then sued her ex for fraud and breach of promise to marry, claiming she had quit her job and taken to child-rearing with the expectation he was going to wed her, according to Courthouse News.
Mr Kelley tried arguing on a technicality that the promise to marry was made in a relationship similar to prostitution. But the Georgia Appeals Court threw out this argument, ruling that the relationship did not involve the exchange of money for cohabitation and s*xual favours.
Mr Kelley tried another tack to wriggle out of the lawsuit, claiming he had given her the ring without proposing to her.
But this line of defense was dismissed by the court, which held it up as proof he never intended to marry her. [NL]

The World’s Thinnest Condom Is One-Sixth The Width Of A Human Hair

Showering with a raincoat has never been this awesome.
Japan just broke its own record for the "world's thinnest" condom when Sagami Original announced its ultra-light, polyurethane condom measuring at 0.01 millimeter. That's 0.01 millimeter thinner than the company's last iteration of the contraceptive tool, and one-sixth the width of the average human hair, according to Condom-Sizes.org.
The race for the thinnest condom may sound like a safety risk, but the company has conducted stress tests on 25,000 condoms. Condom-Sizes.org, meanwhile, had its readers give the rubbers the hard test:

On the first look this condom is so thin and fragile that some might be a bit skeptical in its durability. It proved it self in practical use however, as our reader confirmed … Our reader who tried it likes it and says he can really feel a difference. He asked us for more of these.
That reader will have to wait for a worldwide release, as the condoms are only sold in Japan, and they're selling out quickly, the Daily Mail reports. The condoms' suggested retail price puts them at about $12.
"Honestly, I don't know how we can make them thinner than this," a Sagami researcher told Tokyo Sports. "As long as there is a need for thinner, we will continue researching 0.009 mm and 0.008 mm thinness."
Sagami's condom unofficially beats out the Guinness World Record for thinnest condom, a 0.038 millimeter thick rubber by Okamoto Industries, Inc. The measurement was verified in January, 2012.

Retired Farmer Spends 30 Years Building Scale Model of Herod’s Temple

Alec Garrard
Alec Garrard
Alec Garrard, an 82-year-old retired farmer from Norfolk, England, has spent the last thirty years working on a 1:100 scale model of Herod's Biblical Temple.
Mr. Garrard has liked creating models all his life, but as he was getting older, he began thinking about a single big project that would see him through to the end of his life. Having always been interested in architecture and religion, the retired farmer thought to combine his two passions and create a unique scale model of Herod's Temple. He had seen one or two other models of the structure during Biblical exhibitions, but he didn't find them accurate enough, and he knew he could do better.
The expert model-maker started working on the project when he was in his 40′s. He first spent more than three years just researching the Biblical temple and then began constructing the model, exclusively by hand.
The retired farmer cut the plywood frames of the temple walls, baked all the clay bricks in the oven and then stuck them together, and even sculpted and painted 4,000 half-an-inch figurines and dressed them in costumes. It looks absolutely amazing, but Alec Garrard says "I have been working on it for decades, but it will never be finished as I'm always finding something new to add".
