Put Your Mouth Where God Has Put It! Olubunmi Okogie Finally Replies Chris Okotie

Posted: 29 Dec 2013 04:16 AM PST

Former archbishop of Lagos state, Anthony Olubunmi Okogie has finally replied Chris Okotie on his statement that 'All Catholics will go to hell'. Here is what he told Punch;
"It is always good to talk on what you know, not on what you do not know. The problem we have today is that a lot of people put their mouth in what does not concern them because they want people to know that they too are there; that they can be reckoned with.
"I don't think that is the way to do things, no. I think the best thing is to always put your mouth where God puts it, if you don't want to be disgraced."

There have been recent reports that Miley Cyrus is dating her ex-fiance's good friend, actor Kellan Lutz, after they were photographed getting off a private plane in Miami after spending some days together in the Bahamas. Seems the rumours are true as the Wrecking Ball singer was spotted cuddling and kissing the Twilight Star at an after party she hosted at Madhouse nightclub at the MGM Grand Hotel And Casino, in Vegas on Friday night. Kellan and Liam Hemsworth are very good friends and Kellan even used to hang out with the former couple. See more pics after the cut...

My Nighttime Encounter With President Jonathan

Posted: 29 Dec 2013 03:53 AM PST

goodluck_mandela_with_mandela_s_badge_3By Jummai Calebs
It was the occasion of my uncle's birthday party, which President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan honoured in person. I had the good fortune of being the one asked to serve him. His security detail scanned me with some device before they allowed me to approach him. While attending to him, I noticed the look in his eyes. At that point, something happened to me that made me become somewhat unconscious of my environment for some seconds.
Gosh, he's got the sexiest eyes I have ever seen. And when you talk about a man being good-looking, sweet, and gentle, then you are referring to my one and only heartthrob, GEJ.

There's really something about my President that keeps me thinking about him all the time. I just can't put it in words but I know there's this unexplainable feeling I have for him. I often wonder if anyone else feels same way about him.
Back at my uncle's party I guess he noticed I was kind of lost, so he said, "Young lady, hope all is well," and I managed to reply "Yes," and I immediately left for my bedroom.
Since then, every night when I go to sleep, I dream about him. All day long, I think about him. There's nothing that thrills me more than his smile. Whenever he smiles, I feel something spark inside of me.
He's got all a woman would ever desire in a man. Is it his height or his sexy eyes? Oh my! Everything about him is so appealing and to sum it up, he is the president of a great nation, Nigeria, the giant of Africa.
Of course, he is way older than me, but I just can't explain why I have this special feeling for him. He is 56 years old and I'm 23, but like they say, "Lve is blind," and I guess that blindness has caught up with me and I just can't help it.
I think something I just can't explain happened between me and Mr President during my first encounter with him, and ever since then the feeling increased.
Later on, the night of my uncle's birthday, I was in my room, unable to stop thinking of how I made a fool of myself and possibly embarrassed my uncle- if at all he had noticed what had transpired. In the middle of my thoughts, I got a call from an unknown number. I picked the call; someone with a rather stern voice, more or less, ordered me to hurry up and come towards the gate where Mr President's convoy was parked. I did so.
On getting there, lo and behold, it was Mr President that had sent for me through one of his SSS agents. Mr President stepped aside from his guards and asked if I was okay, I replied that I was. Then he told me to feel free, that he isn't a demi-god. I guess he thought I was scared or feeling inferior before him which wasn't the case.
I summoned courage and replied it was nothing close to that. With a look of curiosity, he asked me to tell him what it was then. I told him that his eyes caught my attention and sort of mesmerised me. He smiled and signalled to one of his guards who gave me a card and told me the specific time I could call. I was restless until that time came and I dialled the number. While the phone was ringing, I had a call which woke me up from a very beautiful sleep. I then realised I had been dreaming all the while.
Well, I don't mind dreaming so long it's about Mr President. I just love it when I have such dreams. Sometimes I wish he was as young as I am, or that I was a bit older so that I could have him as mine for the rest of my life. But I guess I just keep dreaming and dreaming and dreaming…

GOD’S MIRACLES: Cow With 5 Legs Grants Baby Boys To Pregnant Women! (+PHOTO)

Posted: 29 Dec 2013 03:25 AM PST

Raj Pratap's three-year-old male calf, called Raju, now is a star in Raipur, India, since a woman with four daughters touched the animal's fifth hoof and begged for her next child to be a boy.
The woman delivered twin boys in February this year, word soon spread that the calf's fifth leg. Raju's anomaly  a very rare condition which affects just one in every five million cows.
Since news got out about the fifth leg, Mr Pratap, a cattle herder, has been swamped by pregnant women who pay to touch the hoof with 30 women so far stumping up around 500 rupees, around £5, for the privilege.

All the 30 women delivered boys. The owner of the cow is so confident of his 'miracle calf' that he offers refunds if the baby born is a girl.
On December 23, the cow celebrated its 33rd victory, after the woman who touched its 'magical hoof' gave birth to triplets….all of them boys.
It should be pointed out that in India boys are 'more valued' than girls as they have 'greater earning potential' to support the family.
A cow with five legs has been hailed a miracle because when pregnant women touch its fifth hoof they give birth to baby boys.

4 Fun Ways to Stay Young

Much too often we give up our youthful indiscretions in the name of health. I'm here to tell you that you may need to start engaging in them again!
1) Married? Have s*x Often
Studies have shown that having s*x two or more times a week can greatly decrease the risk of heart attack and stroke. Women who follow this rule live longer and happier lives. It's great exercise and boosts your mood naturally. s*x has also been shown to be a pain and stress reliever. Dr. Richard Mayeux, a Columbia University neurologist noted, "That seems to be as good as anything' for preventing dementia. Make s*x your daily workout routine of at least 10 minutes, it has shown tocut dementia risks in half! Skip the Tylenol and Prozac – s*x is better!

2) Eat More Fat
Good fat! Omega-3 fatty acids reduce wrinkles, maintain bone strength, and keep joints limber. There are 27 unique amino acids and we are always learning more about their powerful healing properties. Proline, found highly concentrated in phytoplankton, gives our body the ability to rebuild all fibrous joint tissue such as tendons, ligaments and cartilage very quickly. Staying limber allows you to stay active. Omega-3's are also credited with adding a great natural boost of energy! Omega-3 should be supplemented from a healthy source if don't consume 2 grams daily in your diet.
3) Drink Red Wine
Drink for your health (in moderation)! The substance found grape skins reduces the first of diabetes and liver problems. This leads to a significant reduction in obesity-related deaths. Researchers have determined resveratrol, the nutrient found in grapes, has health benefits we are just scratching the surface about. In addition to protecting your body, a new animal study from John Hopkins propose procyanidins, found in red wine seeds, reduce arterial clogging, reducing deaths from heart disease.
4) Go to a Comedy Show
Have you been to the theater this week? If not then you are missing a great opportunity to stay younger. They say that 'Laughter is the best medicine,' but laughing is just the beginning. Laughter releases endorphins, lowers stress, boosts the immune system and protects the heart. Muscle tension often remains relaxed for up to 45 minutes after a good knee buster. It also improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which will help prevent a heart attack and many other cardiovascular problems.

"I do not have time for Girls that Fight For Me."- MR UGLY Reveals!

Posted: 29 Dec 2013 02:33 AM PST

Mr Ugly, William Masvinu says women are throwing themselves at his feet. But he is not interested.

Scooping the Mr Ugly title twice in a row is undisputed testament that the Harare man is indeed very ugly and deserves the accolade.
Masvinu who shares his mobile with his wife Alice Chabhanga who is almost always by his side, said he does not have time for 'girls'. "Zvevasikana handina dhiri nazvo, I have my own girl at home and one needs to be careful these days because there are diseases," said Masvinu.
Masvinu is confident of his looks and is unfazed by people who stare at him in the streets. "My ugliness comes naturally to me and although I did a bit to prepare for the show, I let my looks do the rest. Now I am a celebrity, when people meet me in the street they shout Mr Ugly and I wave at them happily," he said.
Masvinu, who is a part time mechanic, revealed that he has also ventured into acting and features in a film titled Fuse Yatsva which has already been produced.

"These days I spend time selling my film on the streets of Harare and people like it," he said. Last year, the 39-year-old was quoted bemoaning the lack of corporate support for "celebrities" like him. He said as the reigning Mr Ugly Harare, he should be in the same league with superstars such as Oliver Mtukudzi. "Despite my celebrity status, my life hasn't changed and I still struggle to make ends meet," he said.
"The corporate world should support me as I am a celebrity just like other musicians and top people," he said.

But, he added, as a celebrity he now enjoys numerous free drinks and beer and often gets into shows without paying as people "respect" his celebrity status. It is just a matter of time before Masvinu proves how far he can go as a celebrity or whether he will make headlines for grabbing other people's wives

MUST READ!!! Six (6) Type Of Guys You Should Never Have A Relationship With

Posted: 29 Dec 2013 02:15 AM PST

Yes, a breed of men you should never date exists - guys that women wouldn't even want their enemies to date.
Some men have that natural charm and women tend to flock to them when given a chance. But there are some whom a woman would never want to be in proximity with. He's the guy who can be the reason behind a drastic change in moods. While you're wondering the kind of man you should hide from, here's our checklist of men you should avoid.

1. Mr. Volatile
One moment, everyone's eyeing this extra caring, super-hot boyfriend of yours while the next, he's just indifferent and you're left wondering WTH just happened. We won't call this man one with mood swings because that is acceptable, considering how often we PMS. But he's the kind of a man who is so volatile, you'll have all the answers, yet be clueless about his weird behaviour.

2. The 'I-me-myself' guy
Go to a restaurant with him, he'll be kind enough to let you check the menu, but will choose what he wants. Talk to him over the phone, you'll find conversations start with how his day was and ends with the goals of his life. And while you're thinking of a beach destination for that annual relaxation holiday, you'll end up going to a desert just because he wants a camel ride. He's selfish. Stay with him to be unhappy for the rest of your life.3. The 'Aww-I'm-just-a-kid' man

This guy just hasn't grown up. He's so happy extending his childhood days that he will mistake you for his momma. If you're willing to tie his shoelace, select clothes for that everyday outing of his, cook for him and feed him, among doing his other chores, we will say, go for him.

4. The sleaze-ball

He flirts with every woman on the planet - his receptionist, the waitress, the woman who comes to take out garbage, the stranger at the super market and even your best friend. His history can make you uncomfortable and you just know he's not the kind who'll be serious with anyone. Avoid this man who's only about sex, sex and just sex, unless you're looking for someone to play with too.

5. 'I-need-you-so-much' fella

This Mr Clingy is a total no-no to be with. He's so insecure and doubtful about things in life, all he's looking for is reassurance. And here's what he comes with: a truck full of emotions. Trust us, you wouldn't want to be a shoulder to this man, who goes sob, sniff, sob every single minute when he's with you.

6. The predictable guy

This one's as predictable as a bimonthly auto rickshaw fare hike in Delhi. You just know what he's thinking or is about to do. Yes, we're talking about (yawn) the guy who has just no surprises to offer you, because well, not only is he predictable, but he's way too boring, so much so that we know for certain you'll gauge him in just a month.

MUST READ!!! Writter Joy Compares Blogger Linda Ikeji & Stella

Posted: 29 Dec 2013 02:08 AM PST

Joy is a writer, publicist and presenter. Babe loves controversy, dwells in it and sleeps in it
The other time it was openly accusing makkosi on twitter about stealing her book this time she hit delicate stuff comparing two bloggers Linda and Stella

See her write up after the cut:

"Like a woman stunned by her own lack of sophistication- even with all the necessary materials and resources at her disposal, she is unable to achieve finesse and that… je ne sais quoi; so is Stella Dimoko-korkus who reigns as ratchet queen of gossip.

Whilst Linda Ikeji was modelling and trying to figure out what form and shape her blog should take; before she made her first naira, Stella had been in the gossip scene. She had her own rather popular column in Encomium magazine- grumpy, grimy and cantankerous; she fed the people with mostly half-truths.

Linda, however, redefined what gossip is today in the Nigerian scene; and sincerely, stole all the business and followership from Stella who is headstrong in running her blog like a market rumble, where fish sellers and ogogoro buyers meet to rant and laugh incoherently over insignificant issues, hoping to give weight to nothing. Stella has built her empire on poor research and fact-finding; like a beer parlour under the tree she helps her "friends" solve their, again, insignificant fights without any prior knowledge or interest on how to get the truth.

For Linda, blogging is big business- yes, like over a hundred other gossip blogs that spring up every day, they all mostly share the same content; but Linda's success is in her packaging and the effort she makes to be impartial, to be decent, and give analytical approach to her work. Her blog is like upwardly mobile women getting together to gist about sundry issues over drinks; dressed chicly with restraint on the direction of the conversation.

By known fact, Linda- if she has personal details of the people involved, clarifies most of her  stories before hitting the send button on her blog. If a story sounds incredulous, she would make the effort to get more details or at least, share her doubts of the authenticity of the story at the end of the piece. Even with all the money she has accrued through advertisements on her blog, Linda runs her show with empathy and a sense of responsibility, careful not to spill the milk because she is aware she can't gather the contents back.

Linda's blog is swimming with advertisements, and although Stella had claimed once that she does not need advertisement money to run her blog, which is rather comical when you give it a thought; she enjoys the gossip life way too much to ever turn it into something sensible enough that can take care of bills (yea, we believe her!).

The Presidency reads Linda Ikeji's blog; important personalities like Toyin Saraki (a woman of warmth, tact and grace) reads Linda Ikeji's blog.

Linda has become a force, a movement of some sort. Through her platform she has won many awards, visited many cities abroad, invited to give important speeches, built a powerful network that can sustain her and her children's children.

It is in the packaging; it is not what you say but how you say it.

A few days ago, Linda had the list of wealthy celebrities on her blog, and in a minute the post was down. It takes a blogger with a conscience and common sense to do that. Maybe she had discovered a flaw in the report, maybe there were unscrupulous facts tied to the initial report; she did the right thing- yanked the story off.

The two blogs, as different as can be, still have their crowd. Stella Dimoko-korkus' crowd aspire to nothing, they just want raw entertainment, like porn, that they can wank to; for Linda, her crowd, like readers of successful glossy magazines, aspire to be something- they have dreams and goals and a future to look forward to.

Linda's blog continues to evolve; Stella's blog sits like stagnant water, reeking of morbid disease.

Like apples and scorched cashew nuts, what will you have?"

And trust Stella to fire back.

Then gist doesnt end there, Joy still went on twitter to rant see her

I have a crush on Genevieve Nnaji —Melvin Oduah

Posted: 29 Dec 2013 01:30 AM PST

Melvin Oduah
One of the housemates of the last edition of Big Brother Africa, Melvin Oduah lost out at the last count to fellow housemate and close friend, Delish. He recounts the experience and its effect on his style
Q: What was the experience of being in one house for 91 days like?
A: It was   not easy at all being there for 91 days. But it was a wonderful experience. It had positive impact on all of us.  We learned to live with people of different temperament from different countries and backgrounds. We got to tolerate and endure each other because of the rule that said one was never to allow oneself to be provoked.   It was a very wonderful experience and I don't regret going for it.
Q: When you were asked the first thing you would buy with your prize money, you said clothes. Are you that obsessed with clothes?
A: I love fashion. I said I would buy clothes because I always love to look good. As an entertainer, I always love to appear elegant.

Q: How has being in the Big Brother House affected your style?
A: The difference is not much.  I was able to appreciate some styles more when I met a fashion designer like Elikem.  He shared his clothes to everybody and we all came to appreciate his designs a lot. If you are a casual dresser who finds yourself in that situation, you will be forced to try out one of the designs. It gave me a diversification of all styles. I wanted to try on everything.  There were things I saw on style and dressing that I would love to explore some more.  It really made a huge difference in my style.
Q: What style personality are you?
A: I love to diversify; I love to wear different kinds of things. But if you ask me what my style is most times, I would tell you that it is casual.
Q: You seem to have fondness for a particular hairstyle
A: This is the first time I am wearing a Mohawk hairstyle with slit beside it. It is not my regular hairstyle.  I usually wear a punk look. But in the house, people try to experiment. I just decided that it was an opportunity for me to try something different and that was how I came up with my current hairstyle. I did the Mohawk alone first then added the two lines the following week. A lot of people say it looks nice on me so I think I will just consider doing this more often.
Q: Are you adventurous?
A: Yes, I am very adventurous. I am so adventurous that having been out of the house now, I cannot wait to actually visit and spend time with all the housemates in their home countries. I want to see all the things they have been telling me.
Q: What is your favourite fashion accessory?
A: I love silver.
Q: What can you not be caught wearing?
A: Skirt.
Q: Which celebrity do you have a crush on?
A: My crush in Nollywood is Genevieve Nnaji. She inspires me a lot. I always want to look at her facial expression anytime I am watching her movies and the way she acts inspires me a lot. Outside, I have Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Nicki Minaj and many others.
Q: What first impression do people have about you that is wrong?
A: Some people think I am a snob.
Q: You were just one of a very few who did not kiss anybody in the house. How could you spend 91 days like that?
A: I did kiss in the house. We played some games in the house where we had to chase women. However, I did not fall in love. People that fell in love were not many. You are making it sound as if I was the only one who did not fall in love. We had just about five couples in the entire season and it does not mean that because they were couples, everybody must be couples. It is different strokes for different people and I am just one of those people that did not just fall in love in the house.
Q: Is it because you are in love with somebody outside the house?
A: No. I am single, I don't have a relationship.  It is not that the girls were not hot. A lot of the girls in the house were decent.  I loved the personality of many of them but you know these things. I am not one of those people who would just jump into a relationship. I take my time to observe first.
Q: Who did you have a crush on, Delish?
A: Delish had this thing about her.  As soon as she entered the house, she let everybody know that she had a very strong relationship outside the house. She was not interested in dating anybody in the house. She always told us about all the good things the guy did for her and how he had assisted her for years.  She created an aura around herself that warned people to keep off. Even at that, Delish and I were very close. She was the housemate I was closest to apart from Beverly. We did things together, we played a lot, as a result, people started having the impression that I was in love with her.
Q: This is about the third show you have done and gone up to the final, are you looking at taking part in more shows?
A: It was the third reality TV show that I had been in and I did not win. I cannot tell you that I will be looking for the next reality show to take part in or that I will not be looking for it. But I will definitely try to take my career to greater heights.  I will always try to aim for the very high things that make my career blossom.
Q: What one thing did you see in the Big Brother house that you felt like taking with you when you left?
A: It was the fridge. The fridge was awesome, if it were possible, I would have carried it home.
Q: Tell us about your childhood
A: My childhood was awesome. I have always appreciated the way my parents brought us up but   being in that house made me appreciate them more.  Very few of the housemates had near-perfect childhood. We had most of the things we wanted but we were not spoiled. My family is nuclear, consisting of just mom and dad and the kids. No outside marriages or children.  This fact made me appreciate my family more. When I was talking to the other housemates, most of them had problems with their family background. It was either death occurred somewhere or father got married to somebody else.  There were tales of divorces or kids being brought in from outside.

My lover is weird

Posted: 29 Dec 2013 01:16 AM PST

My lover is weird!
Anita met Kennedy while in high school. Though she considered him weird, something drew her to him. What was it?
The holidays, for Anita, were great but they also appeared to be too short.
She had sent text messages to Kennedy as promised.  Their conversations turned out to be interesting and deep.   They talked about poetry, books, their lives and beliefs. In a way, she just couldn't help but want to get closer to him.  She wanted to be the first person he could trust with all his heart.
On the last day of the holidays, Anita called Kennedy. She wanted to hear his voice and she swallowed when the line started ringing.

He picked up the phone and said, "Hi"
"It is Anita…" she started, but could not find the right words to continue.
"Kennedy," he said. The line was silent. Anita sensed she was breathing too hard. "Uh, I just wanted to hear your voice," she blurted.
He laughed a little and said, "I noticed."
"So, er.., are we hanging out tomorrow?" she asked in a cracked voice.
"Yes. We'll hang out," Kennedy replied. "Anita, I need to tell you something," he said.
Kennedy was silent for a moment.  "You are the first friend I've ever had in my 17 years on earth," he informed her.
"Oh! Really?" Anita wondered.
"Yes. I want to thank you," he told her. "I want to thank you for letting me connect with you.  You have given me permission to share my thoughts and feelings with someone else other than my diary," Kennedy said.
Anita felt uncomfortable. "Don't thank me. I enjoy getting to know you.  I think you are the most interesting and wonderful person I've ever known," she confessed.
Kennedy was silent again. Suddenly, Anita started hearing a strange noise.
"Kennedy?" she called him.
Then came a shuffling sound, followed by sniffing. It sounded like a stuffy nose. Anita felt her heart race. She gripped the phone closer to her ear. "Kennedy, are you crying?" she asked him.
"Yes," he whispered, his voice shaking. Anita heard him sniff again. She felt her eyebrows pull together.  At that very moment, she also felt like crying, simply by listening to him. That noise was depressing, especially coming from Kennedy.
"Please don't cry," she murmured, "I mean what I say. I think you are wonderful." He cried softly a little longer, then his sniffing stopped, and he spoke. "Anita"
"Yes?" Anita held her breath.
"When we meet tomorrow, I must tell you something very important. "Is that okay?"
"Yes," Anita agreed.
The line went dead. Kennedy had ended the conversation! The first day of the second semester went by slowly. Anita reunited with her friends again. She shared five classes with Kennedy. She was happy. That way, she could connect with him more. But it didn't turn out the way she thought it would be.
During each class she had with him, Kennedy hardly exchanged words with her. She  tried to converse with him  when she  had the chance, but he  would give her  extremely short answers or tell her  that he  could not concentrate on his  school work. Anita gave up and decided to leave him alone.
She was going to make her way to the canteen one day, when she felt somebody coming close to her. It was Kennedy. He followed her and grasped her wrist.  She turned to look at him. He looked the same, dark hair, dark eyes, dark clothes and dead expression.
"Come," he said to Anita before letting go of her wrist. He led the way towards the direction that was the opposite end of the canteen. Anita looked behind her shoulder and saw that her friends were already sitting at a table eating. She followed Kennedy.
Kennedy ended up taking her to the back of the school. No student or teacher was around. "Why wouldn't you talk to me during our classes?" she asked Kennedy.
"I don't know. I just felt bad about the people around me and I was not in a talking mood," he responded in a gentle voice.
"What was it that you wanted to talk to me about?"  she asked him. "I…" he began.  "I want us to be more than friends."
"You are not saying anything," he mumbled as Anita lapsed into silence.
"Sorry," she shook her head. "Well, don't you think it's too soon? We should get to know each other a little bit more, don't you agree?" she asked him.
"But I feel like I know you already," Kennedy whispered, and then moved closer to her. "You think I'm wonderful. I think you are wonderful as well. Anita. I want you to be mine and I want to be yours."
He grasped Anita's hands and whispered, "I have fallen in love with you, Anita Maxwell."
That was all too sudden she thought.
She liked him a lot but she was not necessarily "in love" with him.  She wanted to connect with him more, to know a lot about him and possibly try to fall for him. But she discovered that she was not. She just liked him.
His eyes were still staring at her and his voice was so hypnotic that she couldn't resist. She closed her eyes and let him kiss her. His mouth tasted of sawdust and fresh wood.
Moments while they kissed, Anita opened one eye to peek at Kennedy. His eyes were still open, and he was studying her intently. It was strange to see him so close.  She couldn't help but pull away. She wasn't quite ready to be his.

‘I got HIV while looking for a child’

Posted: 29 Dec 2013 01:14 AM PST

Okoro
When did you get married?
We got married in 2004
Did you do HIV tests before you got married?
Yes, we did.  It was a compulsory test before getting married. We were both HIV negative.
When did you realise you had the virus?
It was in 2007. I got pregnant and was asked to do some random tests. That was how I found out I was HIV positive.
Do you know how you contracted the virus?
Sometimes, it's difficult to tell because there are so many ways through which one can get the virus but you can trace it if you vividly remember the activities you engaged in for some months and years.
Can you explain what you mean by activities one engages in?
In my case, my husband married me a virgin and like I told you earlier, I was HIV negative and so was he when we got married. Certain things happened to me that exposed me to unhealthy practices and I believe strongly that that was how I got HIV.

Unhealthy practices?
I could not conceive when I got married. My husband was not worried because it was a young marriage, but his family members were not happy with me. They said all sorts of nasty things to me and tried to get my husband to send me out of the house. It created tension in my home. I went to different churches and herbalists within and outside Lagos. In the herbalist's home, I was given incisions with a razor blade. I received the incisions on two different occasions.  Then in 2007, my mother-in-law arranged a new wife for my husband behind my back.
Did he tell you about the new wife?
No. In fact, I didn't know until much later. It was one of my friends in the village that told me what my mother-in-law had been up to. My husband just told me that he was going to our village to see his mum. I did not suspect anything. It was on that trip they introduced the new wife to him. He rejected the wife and came back to Lagos but he did not tell me anything. One day, one of my friends called me and asked me if I knew what my husband came to the village for. She narrated the scheme to me and I confronted my husband. He said he didn't tell me because it would hurt me. He reasoned that since he didn't take the wife, I would be happy not knowing what transpired in the village.
It was that same year my in-laws wanted to get another wife for my husband that I got pregnant. That is why I counsel women that patience is everything. I got pregnant when God was ready to give me a child. It wasn't the herbalist or white garment churches that made it possible. They gave me some very horrible concoctions to drink in those churches after praying on them. They took me to rivers to have my bath. When I saw that all those things were not working, I stopped. Several months after, I just discovered I was pregnant. In fact, I remember vividly that at the herbalist's place, I didn't give them the blade that was used for the incisions. That was the least thing on my mind, I just wanted a baby.
How many people did you see at the herbalist each time you went?
Quite a few, mostly women and it was the quest for children that took them there. They also got incisions.
Was it with the same blade?
I'm not sure about that because we went in at separate times
How did your husband receive the news of your status?
Towards the end of 2007, I got pregnant. He felt very bad when he heard about my status. He was downcast.  I thought it was the end of our marriage. I thought it was the end of everything I struggled to keep.  He shocked me when he said he was not going to leave me and it wasn't the end of the world but that he needed to do the test too. He did it and he was negative. I gave birth to our child and she's negative.
Do you experience any sort of stigmatisation?
No, my status is known to only my husband and I, and he has never used it to taunt me in any way. That is how I know that he truly loves me. Of course, it took him some time to get over it, it was very gradual but he took it calmly. We were both very sad. We went for counselling together. I told him that it was my desperation to have a child that forced me to seek alternative measures. He didn't know I went to all those places. He's very understanding and I sometimes wonder if he's for real.
What steps do you take to ensure he remains negative?
We have two children now and they are both negative. He uses a condom and whenever we are trying to procreate, we are both placed on drugs to ensure that he doesn't contract it.
I have spoken to a few women who share similar experiences with you. What advice would you give to women, especially the married ones that are yet to have children?
I wish our society would just leave couples alone and stop interfering with whether they have children or not. That is the problem, everyone feels they should have a say in one's marriage. The first step is that couples should not allow family members or friends tell them what is best for them. Also women should be patient. Just look at me, if I had been patient, all these would not have happened to me.  Couples should know that God's time is the best. I also want to say that HIV does not kill. What kills is depression and laziness. Some people will say because they are HIV positive, they will stop working and start being dependent on others. Being dependent on other people will affect one's psyche, lead to depression and eventually death. In addition I will advise people, spread the news, but don't spread the virus.

Women love my muscles —Ogedegbe

Tyrone Tseye Ogedegbe
Mr. Universe Musclemania (Pro division) 2013 champion, Tyrone Tseye Ogedegbe, is proud of his roots: Nigeria. In this interview with 'TANA AIYEJINA, the 29-year-old talks about growing up in the UK, winning the world title and more
You are a British citizen born to Nigerian parents. Can you tell us about your family, what part of Nigeria are you from and how was growing up in the UK like for a young black boy?
My father is based in the US, Nashville Tennessee precisely and my mum resides in London. They believe in travelling as a very effective form of education, so from my childhood I've lived in Nigeria, the US and now in the UK. I am from Warri, Delta State and I am proud of my roots even though I am a British citizen. Living in the UK as a black British boy has been educational for me; I learnt a lot about being political and diplomatic in various situations and also to strive hard to prove what your worth is and not to settle for stereotypical views of the public.

Your love for wrestling and cartoon figures made you go into bodybuilding. Were there initial challenges you faced?
Yes there were initial challenges I faced. For instance, I found it hard to coordinate my training patterns in order to get the best results, but as time went on and with the right guidance, it became second nature to have a structure that fits well with your goals in the gym.
After just two years as a bodybuilder, you emerged Mr. Universe. How did you manage the feat?
I was quite shocked at my rapid progress and can only say God blessed my hard work and gave recognition for the dedication I had for the sport; it's something I'm most passionate about. The opportunities and awards were welcomed and spurred me on as motivation for bigger and better things.
When you got to the US for the competition, did you ever think you were going to win?
Yes, all I thought about was winning. Personally, I believe that in order to be a champion, you need to first believe and envision that you're one before others can do the same. So I believed I had already won even before travelling to Miami.
Now, you are a global figure, how have you been able to handle your new personality?
It's still something new and exciting to me. I find myself giving more advice about what to do to help others achieve their fitness goals and even motivate them through discipline because this is a key ingredient in bodybuilding. My followers grow on a daily basis and I am even more excited about what 2014 will bring.
How difficult is it combining banking duties and bodybuilding?
It is quite difficult if you're not organised because managing your time becomes highly crucial: from the start of the day to your lunch break and to the end of the day. I sacrifice my lunch break for gym sessions, and work my butt off while at work. It's a juggling work but I try not to drop the ball.
You come from a football family that produced legendary Nigeria  goalkeeper Best Ogedegbe and Nathaniel Ogedegbe. How did these great stars impact on your life?
My uncle in particular, Nathaniel Ogedegbe is a great inspiration to me; this is because I've had the opportunity of getting to know him better. He's passionate about what he does and his success in his football career is credit to that. With this, I can apply the same views and mentality to my own sport of bodybuilding.
With muscles everywhere, what kind of reaction do you get from people on the streets and in public places when they see you for the first time?
The reaction varies; some people appreciate it and give great comments, while some are intimidated. So, I will tell anyone like that out there, "Don't judge a book by its cover." I might just be the friendliest person you ever met!
Don't your muscles scare women away from you?
I've been fortunate enough for it to actually have the opposite effect. It tends to be okay with women I meet, maybe that's why I work extra harder when back in the gym. So all in all, my relationship with the opposite sex has been quite positive; there's no Mrs. Ogedegbe yet, but who knows what the future holds?
You will be visiting Nigeria next year for the Okoku foundation. What does this home coming mean to you and what are you going to do during the trip?
Yes I'll be supporting the inauguration of this event and I am a great admirer of Paul Okoku for creating such an opportunity for less privileged kids. It is something I'm proud to be associated with and as a result, I will be giving an extraordinary performance. In other words, some flexing won't be far from sight.
The Okoku foundation helps kids in the US and Nigeria. Are you planning to have such in Nigeria as well?
Yes, eventually this could happen, but for now I'll be supporting the Okoku foundation and watch it rise to greater things. I've always supported the progress and motivation of the youths. I have held motivational talks in London at the Damilola Taylor Youth Center. The late Damilola is a kid that was victimised by gangs in London, so I'm keen and inspired on what Okoku is about doing in Nigeria. In addition, I'll be organising a fitness program that will help Nigerian athletes and anyone interested in getting fit and looking good. Special appearances will also be made on TV stations and events to promote fitness in my motherland. At the Paul Okoku Greater Tomorrow event, I'll be making a guest appearance, flexing muscles and performing to wow the crowd. My motivation is to promote a positive message for the kids; give them something they can aspire to and support a movement to inspire the youths.
In Nigeria, bodybuilders are oftentimes used as security personnel in night clubs and public places. Does this suit them?
I think simply because a bodybuilder has acquired a physique that demands authority, he is automatically seen fit for such jobs. I also think every individual is different and it's their own prerogative to decide what they want to use their physique or achievements and awards to become. The world is your oyster.
Diet is important to bodybuilding. Do you think Nigeria can produce a home-grown Mr. Universe?
Nigeria can definitely produce a home grown Mr. Universe, as long as discipline is their number one priority.
What are your best and worst moments?
My best moment will have to be when I won the overall title as a world champion. As for worst moment, I can't seem to think of one as I am a strong believer in counting your blessings, as these overshadow any negativity in your life
What is the most embarrassing moment you've had as a bodybuilder?
I went on stage without my number in pure excitement (laughs).
What is your normal training routine like?
A couple of hours per day and six days per week, I train each body part on separate days and I devised a plan that allows quick recovery. I also ensure that I do not over train a specific muscle group in the body.
What are the secrets to a successful bodybuilding career?
You need to stay focused, disciplined, do your research, don't be scared to experiment new things that might work better with your body, stay clear of drugs, live a healthy life and walk the talk.
How do you relax?
I relax in the gym. I can't think of a better way of taking out all the frustrations on a pair of weights. It works quite well for me and has proven to do the same for others. Alternative ways of relaxing for me would be chilling at home watching a movie, some red wine to cool me down, listening to good music; jazz would be an ideal choice.
There have always been issues of racism in the Western world. Have you been a victim? If yes, can you share your experience with us?
This is an issue that fortunately I haven't witnessed much of. Might be that I keep a forward thinking attitude and do not look for it, because if you do, you will definitely find it and will continually use it as an excuse for not moving forward. In my books, there are no excuses, so if you want something badly and work hard for it, no man can dictate what you rightly deserve. In the end, you'll be holding the longer end of the stick.
Who is Tyrone Tseye Ogedegbe?
I'm religious, I have a strong belief in God and I'm forever thankful for His blessings.

My body aches like a 90-year-olds:' Fearne Cotton posts sick photo as she reveals she is bed-ridden with tonsillitis

We've all heard of the saying, 'got the blues,' but it seems that Fearne Cotton has got a bad case of the pink in this recent Twitter snap.
The 32-year-old radio presenter decided to show the world how ill she was on Saturday morning by posting a very disheveled photo of herself onto her social media page.
Alongside the photo, Fearne wrote: 'The classic Christmas cold has hit. Feels like I'm swallowing daggers and my body aches like a 90 yr olds.'

And true to her word, it was obvious that the Radio 1 presenter did not look good, showcasing what appeared to be a sore nose and eyes in the snap.
Her newly-dyed pink locks were messy and out of place and hung around her face in a distressed manner.
She earlier posted a photo of her bed, along with the words: 'In bed ill. The inevitable Xmas cold.'

But she later revealed that her illness was not just a Christmas cold, but actually tonsillitis.
Fearne informed her followers: 'Just seen a doctor and apparently I have tonsillitis and a fever. Really don't want Rex to get it too!!! #xmasillness
To keep herself amused whilst in bed, Fearne has even decided to create her own diary, named the Tonsillitis diaries whilst she is ill.
Monster cocktail anyone? Looks like Fearne's up for it!

Her last tweet of the night read: 'As a result, she has created a Tonsillitis diaries: watched the @katyperry documentary and Alan Partridge film. Now in bed feeing rough. Night people x'

The Celebrity Juice presenter, who only recently got engaged and dyed her hair cotton candy pink, only recently seemed in good spirits, posting two rather hilarious post-Christmas pictures on Instagram.
The first featured her and hubby-to-be Jesse Wood looking bug-eyed, if not cross-eyed, with the apt caption: 'Tired yet happy parents post a hectic Christmas Day. Merry Christmas you lot'.

The second featured Fearne looking almost devilishly sinister as she wrote|: 'Scenes from yesterday. Me and @kcotton13 created some monster cocktails'

Despite her illness, Fearne has plenty to be happy about this Christmas after recently announcing her engagement to long-term beau Jesse, the father of her eight-month-old son, Rex Rayne.
The radio presenter announced the happy news that she had accepted the 37-year-old guitarist's proposal via her Twitter page, writing: 'I'm over the moon to tell you that on Sunday Jesse proposed and I happened to say Yes.'

Fuchsia-istic! A day later on Christmas Eve Fearne was at the BBC studios with a fuchsia-beanie to top off her newly dyed locks

The impending wedding means Fearne will become the daughter-in-law of Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood, who fathered Jesse with his late first wife Krissy Findlay.

Fearne and Jesse started dating in summer 2011, shortly after she called off her brief engagement to skateboarder Jesse Jenkins.

She will however be losing her co-star on Celebrity Juice, after it appears Holly Willoughby is set to no longer appear in the show, and is expected to give up the role on the ITV2 show, according to the Daily Star Sunday.
An insider told the Daily Star Sunday: 'Something has to give. She loves the show but this season is likely to be her last.'
A spokesperson for Holly Willoughby has been contacted by the Mail Online.

Police believe the theft of $100K worth of purses and jewelry from Miley Cyrus' home was an inside job

Posted: 29 Dec 2013 01:06 AM PST

Los Angeles police investigating the burglary of Miley Cyrus' home, believe the $100,000 of jewelry and accessories stolen were taken from the inside.
The Adore You singer was robbed last month, the weekend of her 21st birthday, but there was no sign of forced entry into her home.
According to TMZ, the detectives have analysed various surveillance footage from Miley's house and her neighbours, but can see no evidence to show someone breaking into the mansion.

There have been a number of workers with access to her home, which police are now investigating, as well as multiple other people close to Miley.

Cyrus was not at her home in Studio City, Los Angeles, when robbers took over $100,000 worth of jewelry and high-end purses.
No word yet if the robbers made off with the Bangerz singer's vintage Chanel purse that she made infamous when she pulled a suspicious-looking rolled cigarette from it during the European Music Awards.

The singer also owns a vast collection of Chanel baubles, like a Lucite cuff and a gold sparkly stomach chain.
Contrary to earlier reports, Officer Cleon Joseph of the LAPD has confirmed to the MailOnline that the incident took place in broad daylight, at around 3.50pm on Friday 22nd November.
The Officer says there was no sign of forced entry and there is no suspect information at this time in the ongoing investigation.
The perpetrator seemingly took advantage of the fact the star was likely out celebrating her 21st birthday at the time, as no one was at the residence when the break-in occurred, and there were no reported injuries.
'[Miley's] extremely upset and a lot of personal items were stolen,' a source tells the magazine.
'She's really shaken up about the whole thing.'
The LAPD North Hollywood Community Police Station is currently looking into the stolen belongings, which the singer discovered and reported.

This isn't the first time the Wrecking Ball hit maker has become the victim of such an intrusion.

In September last year, Miley narrowly avoided a run-in with an armed intruder, who attempted to force his way into her home wielding a pair of scissors.
Fortunately, the songstress wasn't at home when the terrifying incident occurred at 4am, and her employees were quick to call police and have the man arrested.

Obasanjo’s Letter To Jonathan Finally Tears PDP Apart

Posted: 29 Dec 2013 12:58 AM PST

The Peoples Democratic Party is divided over whether or not former President Olusegun Obasanjo should be punished for anti-party activities. Some leaders of the party had been mooting the idea that Obasanjo should be punished for the letter he wrote to President Goodluck Jonathan.
"Left to me, no individual should be bigger than the party. It is either you have a disciplined party, or no party at all. Would Obasanjo have tolerated what he is doing to the President while he was there? Any serious party must have disciplined members, particularly now that we are approaching an election year.
"There should be no sentiments about this issue. No individual, I repeat, no individual, no matter how highly placed, should be above the party's discipline."
These where the words of a member of the NWC of PDP while speaking to Punch on the matter.

But many are against doing so, arguing that it was better to leave the matter as Obasanjo did the right thing.

Obasanjo, had, in a letter to Jonathan dated December 2, 2013, taken a swipe at the President, accusing him of causing a division in the party and failing to fight corruption. He also alleged that there were 1,000 Nigerians on Jonathan's watch list.

In his reaction, another highly-placed member of the party's NWC said:
"Whether we like it or not, Obasanjo has earned a position in our polity. He deserves some respect despite his shortcomings. There is no plan to punish him."
