I Was Part Of Tuface & Mercy Johnson's Wedding- Empress Njamah, The New Wedding Planner In Town

Posted: 19 Sep 2013 12:28 PM PDT

Here is what she said in a recent interview.

Just recently, I opened my boutique in Abuja. I also have a spa and a saloon in the city. I will soon open my Lagos outlet, it is just that Lagos is too choked up for me, but that should not be an excuse. I am definitely working on my Lagos branch. I have loads of customers in Lagos that I bring stuff for more than every other place. However, I love Abuja right now for its serenity.

As per movie, during my spare time, I still run to some locations to shoot one or two movies. In fact, I am working on some scripts. I think a lot of people don't know that there are other things I do aside acting. I do bridal makeup. I am more of a wedding planner. I was very busy during Tuface's wedding. I was one of the people organizing things and after the whole ceremony; I think I used two days to unwind.

I was in charge of Mercy Johnson's wardrobe during her wedding and I was happy about what I did for her. I did one beautiful wedding a few Saturdays ago and I got like four other jobs from that one. So that's it. I don't have to put it on the billboard. I'm not a loud person. I let my work speak for me. A good brand will always remain fresh even if went out of circulation for five years. I don't believe one needs to do a hundred movies to stay relevant and fresh in the industry. I know some people who have featured in many productions but yet do not have that star status. If you don't have the star streak, you don't have it. You can do just a movie in a year and you will be high up there.

5-month-old baby killed by airport baggage carousel in Spain

Posted: 19 Sep 2013 12:25 PM PDT

Spanish investigators are trying to figure out how a 5-month-old baby died on a baggage carousel at an airport in Alicante.
A spokeswoman for Spain's airport authority, AENA, said Thursday it's not clear how the baby ended up on the baggage belt for oversized luggage.
"The baby was on the baggage carousel, but could not have gotten there alone. Someone had to put the baby there. I don't know how the baby got there," said the airport spokeswoman, who by custom is not identified.
The infant's mother, an American woman, arrived at the airport late Wednesday on a flight from London's Gatwick airport with her baby and another young child, the spokeswoman said. The father, who is Canadian, was already there waiting at the Alicante airport, she added.

The baggage carousel is a flat, black rubber-type belt that moves only in one direction and is only activated when oversized bags are sent out on it for pickup. It's several feet long and passengers can stand on either side of it or at the receiving end, the spokeswoman said.
She said it was not immediately known if the infant was placed on the belt while it was stopped, or once it had started moving.
An unidentified security officer at the airport told CNN affiliate Atlas she didn't see the incident, but was told that "the mother apparently put (the baby) down on the conveyer belt when she went to reach for something. He was crushed by the conveyer belt and it killed him."
Airport medical personnel rushed to the scene but were unable to revive the infant, the spokeswoman said.
The Spanish Civil Guard said the baby's death appears to be an accident, but an investigation is under way.
After the baby was pronounced dead, the family had to wait for a judge to arrive, by Spanish law, so that the body could be moved. Civil Guards took statements from the parents at the airport, the airport spokeswoman said.
The baggage belt for oversized luggage -- which includes infant car seats and baby strollers -- is at one end of a large baggage claims hall at the Alicante airport, which handles 9 million passengers a year, the spokeswoman said.
The baggage carousel is in a secure area, and passengers go through it to claim their bags before they exit into the public arrivals hall. The father of the baby would not have had access to that area, the airport spokeswoman said.
Civil Guard and National Police spokesmen confirmed the nationalities of the mother and father as American and Canadian, respectively.
A U.S. Embassy spokesman in Madrid said that U.S. Consular officials are aware of the incident and are providing assistance.
A spokeswoman for the Canadian Embassy in Madrid said she could not comment and referred inquiries to the Canadian government's Department of Foreign Affairs in Ottawa.
Spanish newspaper El Pais reported the family had come to the Alicante area, on Spain's Mediterranean coast, for vacation, but authorities would not immediately confirm that.

Pope Francis: Church can't 'interfere' with gays

Posted: 19 Sep 2013 12:15 PM PDT

Watch this video

Pope Francis said the church has the right to express its opinions but not to "interfere spiritually" in the lives of gays and lesbians, expanding on explosive comments he made in July about not judging homosexuals.
In a wide-ranging interview published Thursday, the pope also said that women must play a key role in church decisions and brushed off critics who say he should be more vocal about fighting abortion and gay marriage.
Moreover, if the church fails to find a "new balance" between its spiritual and political missions, the pope warned, its moral foundation will "fall like a house of cards."

The interview, released by Jesuit magazines in several different languages and 16 countries on Thursday, offers perhaps the most expansive and in-depth view of Francis' vision for the Roman Catholic Church.
The pope's comments don't break with Catholic doctrine or policy, but instead show a shift in approach, moving from censure to engagement.
Elected in March with the expectation that he would try to reform the Vatican, an institution that many observers say is riven by corruption and turf wars, Francis said his first mission is to change the church's "attitude."
"The church has sometimes locked itself up in small things," the pope said, "in small-minded rules."
"The people of God want pastors," Francis continued, "not clergy acting like bureaucrats or government officials."
The interview was conducted by the Rev. Antonio Spadaro, editor of La Civilta Cattolica, a Jesuit journal based in Rome, over three meetings this August at Francis' apartment in Rome.
The pope approved the transcript in Italian, according to America magazine, a Jesuit journal based in New York that initiated the interview and supervised its translation into English.
Advance copies of the interview were provided to several news organizations, including CNN.
Jesuits from around the world submitted questions to Spadaro. Francis answered them with the frankness that has become a hallmark of his young papacy.
To begin the interview, Spadoro bluntly asks, "Who is Jorge Mario Bergolio?" - Francis's name before he was elected pope.
"I am a sinner," the pope answers. "This is the most accurate definition. It is not a figure of speech, a literary genre. I am a sinner."
The pope didn't mention any particular sins, and Catholic theology holds that all humans are sinners, a consequence of Adam and Eve's original transgression. Still, a pope describing himself foremost as "sinner" is striking.
Offering new glimpses of his personal life, Francis said he prays at the dentist's office and felt trapped in the Vatican's traditional papal apartments. (He moved to a smaller one in a nearby building.) He has a taste for tragic artists and Italian films and keeps the will of his beloved grandmother in his prayerbook.
But it was the pope's vision for the church's future  - painted in broad strokes - that's sure to rile or inspire Catholics, depending on which side of the church they sit.
Here are some highlights:
On Women
Francis said, emphatically, that the "door is closed," on women's ordination, a statement that disappointed many Catholic liberals.
But that doesn't mean the church should consider women secondary or inferior, Francis said. "The feminine genius is needed wherever we make important decisions," he told Spadora.
Francis also called on Catholics to think hard about the function of women in the church.
"Women are asking deep questions that must be addressed," the pope said. "The church cannot be herself without the woman and her role."
On Homosexuality
When Francis was a bishop in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he received letters from gays and lesbians who said they were "socially wounded" by the church, he said.
"But the church does not want to do this," Francis said in the interview.
The pope then recalled his comments in July, when he told the media aboard a flight to Rome, "Who am I to judge" gay people?
Pope Francis on gays: 'Who am I to judge?'
"By saying this, I said what the catechism says," the pope told Spadaro. The catechism, the Catholic Church's book of official doctrine, condemns homosexual acts, but says gays and lesbians "must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity."
"Religion has the right to express its opinion in the service of the people, but God in creation has set us free: it is not possible to interfere spiritually in the life of a person."
Francis said that someone once asked him if he "approved" of homosexuality.
"I replied with another question," he said. "`Tell me, when God looks at a gay person, does he endorse the existence of this person with love, or reject and condemn this person?' We must always consider the person. Here we enter into the mystery of the human being."
Abortion, gay marriage and contraception
Some American Catholics grumble that Francis has been largely silent on signature Catholic political issues.
"I'm a little bit disappointed in Pope Francis that he hasn't, at least that I'm aware of, said much about unborn children, about abortion, and many people have noticed that," Bishop Thomas Tobin of Providence, Rhode Island, said earlier this month.
Francis said that he's aware of the criticism, but he is not going to change.
"We cannot insist only on issues related to abortion, gay marriage and the use of contraceptive methods," he told his Jesuit interviewer. "I have not spoken much about these things, and I was reprimanded for that."
But the pope said the church's teachings on those issue are clear, and he clearly believes in those teachings, so what else is there to say?
"It is not necessary to talk about these issues all the time," Francis said.
False prophets and quick decisions
Only false prophets claim to have all the answers, Francis said.
"The great leaders of the people of God, like Moses, have always left room for doubt," he said. "You must leave room for the Lord."
But church leaders, including himself, haven't always practiced humility, the pope admitted.
Many of the bad decisions he made while leading Catholics in Argentina came about because of  his "authoritarianism and quick manner of making decisions," the pope said.
That won't happen again, Francis said, as he begins to steer the church in a new direction.
He didn't offer an exact course, but he said change will come. Sooner or later.
"Many think that changes and reforms can take place in a short time," he said. "I believe that we always need time to lay the foundations for real, effective change. And this is the time of discernment."

SHOCKER!!! A Man threatens BRT boss with two large vipers!!

There was anxiety at the Ketu Bus Rapid Transit depot in Lagos State after a man brought two big snakes to the office of the  depot chairman, Chief Sunday Yusuf.
We learnt that the man, Sunday Ogbaide, who was later arrested by the Ketu Police Division, said he was sent by a yet-to-be identified person to sell the snakes to the BRT boss.
Yusuf told PUNCH Metro that no one could explain how the suspect gained entrance into the depot.
He said, "I was in my office when the man presented two snakes to me. When I asked him what his mission was, he said he was sent by someone who told him that I would be interested in buying snakes.
"When I asked him to tell me the name of the person that sent him, he said he did not know the name of the person.
"I quickly raised the alarm and the security guards arrived. The man passed through three main gates before arriving at my office. No one could explain to me how he got in."
It was learnt that in the ensuing pandemonium, people attempted to beat up the suspect for bringing the snakes.
We learnt that the BRT boss was able to restore calm after which he called the Divisional Police Officer, Ketu, SP Justin Umar.
It was learnt that Umar sent some policemen to the scene to apprehend the suspects and kill the snakes.
Yusuf, who was thankful that the snakes did not kill anybody on the premises, described the incident as the handiwork of his detractors.
On getting to the station however, the suspect said he was a truck pusher at Ketu Market.
He said he got the snakes from Ibadan, Oyo State, and thought he could make a lot of money by selling the snakes to the BRT boss.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, said the suspect would be charged to court on Thursday (today).
Braide said, "Around 4:10pm, the BRT chairman of Ketu Depot made a distress call to the DPO who then sent his men there. The suspect was arrested with two big vipers. He will be charged with attempting to induce fear and wilfully endangering human life with dangerous animals."

My Kidnappers Gave Me N200, Nigeria Police Didn't Rescue Me ––Bishop Kattey

Posted: 19 Sep 2013 12:03 PM PDT

Archbishop of Niger Delta Province of the Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Ignatius Kattey, has accused the Nigeria Police of lying over their claim that they secured his release from the dare-devil kidnappers who had abducted him penultimate Friday.

Briefing newsmen to share his 9 days experience in the den of kidnappers, Rev. Kattey thanked the Police for their efforts, but said that they were not the ones who rescued him.
"The Police did not rescue me, neither were they the ones who rescued my wife, Beatrice. I saw the Police for the first time two days ago, after the incident. I heard the statements made by the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO. The police are telling lies. If you cannot trust the Police, then who can you trust? I told the Commissioner of Police and he has apologised.
"I know that they made efforts but they did not rescue us. A helicopter flew over the area more than 500 times, but the boys (kidnappers) were smarter. They held me in a thick forest and no one could see me there.

"On the day of my release (September 14), the kidnappers moved me and we trekked a number of kilometres till we got to a road. Then they gave me N200 and ordered me to walk towards a direction where I would get a bike. We thank God for His mercies because I wouldn't even wish my enemy to go through that experience," he said

Kattey, who is Dean of the Nigerian Anglican Communion, also said that he was not aware if any ransom was collected over his release, explaining that he was not tortured by his abductors.
He added that: "From my experience, the abductors are hungry and in dire need of means of livelihood. Some are adequately educated but lack the enabling environment to positively express themselves. If government will give the people potable water, light and good roads, they will change."

My Husband Responsible For Our Pastor's Daughter Pregnancy ––Angry Wife Reveals

Posted: 19 Sep 2013 11:55 AM PDT

A housewife, Mrs Tosin Adekunle, 28, on Wednesday sued her husband, Tope Adekunle, for divorce at a customary court in Ado-Ekiti, over allegations of adultery, battering, lack of affection and neglect of she and their two young children.

She told the court that her husband had also failed to perform his conjugal responsibilities, because he's been busy "enjoying" himself with their pastor's daughter.

Mrs Tosin said that her husband had bonce eaten her to point of death and had thrown her belongings out of their matrimonial home due to her complaints over his escapades.

She said that the straw that finally broke the camel's back is that her husband has impregnated their pastor's daughter and as such she can no longer live with him as his wife.

Her husband refused to come appear in court to defend himself. Hence the President of the court, Mr Joseph Ogunsemi, adjourned the case to November 4 for judgement.

Many Nigerians are dying like chicken in the desert every month, but due to lack of awareness, some youths are still being tricked into the risky venture. I hear some times as much as 75 percent of the guys and ladies who embark on the "journey to greener pasture" end up as food for vultures in the desert. How sad!

Nollywood Actress Gets The Beating Of Her Life For Sleeping With A Married Man

Posted: 19 Sep 2013 11:40 AM PDT

One of the hot babes in Nollywood who specializes in warming the bed of Movie Producers to get juicy role in their movies got more than she had bargained for recently, Olokunbolablessing.blogspot.Com gathered.

In a bid to satisfy the married man, who is a popular Director, after he promised to give her the lead role in the latest movie he's working on in Asaba, the actress decided to lodge into the same hotel room with the man, not knowing that some people were watching.

One of the angry ladies in the crew however tipped the Director's wife and she stormed the hotel only to catch the actress red handed on her husband's bed.

Fight broke out, the actress, said to be from the South East, was given the beating of her life as the few people around could not stop the angry wife from stripping the actress after dragging her out of the room into the lobby.

The Director, who has been enjoying himself with the beautiful lady, simply walked away as his wife deal the actress serious blows and hot slaps. News of the unfortunate incident spread in the movie location, hence the man decided to dump the job and return to his base in Lagos.

I hear the actress is still nursing her wounds and she is blaming a fellow young actress, who is jealous of her for getting a lead role. She allegedly told her friends that a fellow actress reported her to the man's wife.
