SHOCKER: Angry Mob Hack Leader Of Cannibal Rape Cult 'Black Jesus' To Death (Graphic Images)

Posted: 01 Sep 2013 01:43 PM PDT

The leader of a vicious cannibal rape cult has been hacked to death in the jungles of Papua New Guinea after he escaped from prison and murdered a local woman.
Preacher Stephen Tari, whose 6,000-strong sect called him "the true Christ" and referred to themselves as "flower girls" or "disciples", had been serving a lengthy jail term after being convicted of a brutal rape three years ago. The 40-year-old, who had previously been accused of raping, murdering and eating three girls in front of their traumatised mothers, was one of 48 prisoners to break-out of a remote jungle prison six months ago.
The charismatic cult leader, who wore white robes and is said to have regularly drunk the blood of his "flower girls", quickly returned to his home village of Gal after the escape, but could only manage six months before killing yet again.
After killing one woman and attempting to murder another, the inhabitants of the village, which is in Madang province, are said to have finally snapped, surrounding Tari and one of his henchmen and hacking the pair to death.
It has not yet been established if the murdered woman was killed as part of a blood sacrifice, but it is considered likely as Tari was said to have been attempting to resurrect his cult following the spell in prison.
Speaking to Papua New Guinea's Post Courier newspaper, local police commander Chief Superintendent Sylvester Kalaut said any of Tari's followers who remain on the run should give themselves up immediately if they don't want to suffer the same fate, as villagers are intent on wiping out all links to the cannibal cult.
Tari, or Black Jesus as he often called himself, rose to international notoriety after his lectures from a rock in a jungle clearing began to attract thousands. He reportedly told his "disciples" they would receive gifts from God if they joined his cult.
But Tari quickly fell out of favour with those who refused to worship him as a resurrected Jesus after he began luring "flower girls" into his hut, where he would allegedly kill them by cutting their throats.
He is said to have later drunk the girls' blood in front of their grieving mothers.
With the police unable to capture him due to his barely accessible power-base and the sheer numbers of followers willing to hide him from the authorities, it was left to Gal's inhabitants to track Tari down.
In 2007 angry locals were able to capture Tari, tying him to logs and beating him before eventually handing him over to police. That incident led to Tari's conviction and imprisonment on rape charges.

Do you guys remember Patricia Etteh, the first female speaker of the Nigerian house of reps?!
Well,  following her unceremonious exit from the house of reps,  she's been keeping a low profile.
PUNCH reports that she is now a student at the prestigious Buckingham University, United Kingdom - she is studying law.

Incidentally, one of her course mates is the son of the former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Nuhu Ribadu.
She is said to live in a posh apartment in Milton Keynes from where she commutes to and fro campus.
Etteh had barely spent four months as the then fourth most powerful individual in the country when she was forced to step down from her leadership position of the House following a heated scandal over the renovation of her official residence in October 2007, in which some of her colleagues accused her of alleged involvement in corrupt practice.

See What Will Now Be Used To Cure HIV

Posted: 01 Sep 2013 01:18 PM PDT

Scientists have discovered that apart from pollinating crops, producing honey, beeswax , propolis, pollen and royal jelly, Bees could also be the solution to the highly dreaded HIV and cancer.

A team of scientists at the Washington University School of Medicine in the US, used nanoparticles carrying a toxin found in Bee venom to destroy HIV without harming nearby body cells, successfully.

According to Agency Report, the findings were contained in the current issue of Antiviral Therapy.

Explaining the modus operandi, Dr. Samuel A. Wickline, one of the researchers said; "Bee Venom contains a potent toxin called melittin that can poke holes in the protective envelope that surrounds HIV and other viruses. It has even shown melittin-loaded nanoparticles to be effective in killing tumor cells."

Speaking with Vanguard in Ibadan recently, Mr. Ayodele Salako, a Beekeeper, corroborated the assertion of the researchers. "The Bee sting is very medicinal. A bee keeper who is stung by a bee every now and then, will not complain of any ailment because the bees have taken those things away from you by enhancing your immunity. That is one of the best works of bee venom."

He demonstrated this by administering bee venom therapy on some people with pains in various parts of the body like the waist, hands and knees. All recipients said the pains stopped after a few minutes.

"Because the bee venom toxin has been engineered not to attack healthy cells, a vaginal gel loaded with bee venom particles, could be ideal for couples where one partner has HIV and they want to have a baby," the report said, adding; "It's also theoretically possible that intravenous injections of the nanoparticles would be able to clear HIV from the blood stream, a virtual miracle for those who have tested positive."

Jonathan Sick: How He Dozes Off Many Times In Eagle Square

Posted: 01 Sep 2013 01:13 PM PDT

Is our President sick or what? Goodluck Jonathan dozed off several times at the mini-convention of the PDP at the Eagles Square in Abuja on Saturday where several governors elected on the party's ticket walked out on him to join a political group led by former Vice President Abubakar Atiku.

President Jonathan looked very worried and couldn't help dozing off despite the crowd and noise at the venue of the controversial PDP condition, thus fueling speculations.

Some say he is sick and tired, others say he just need to learn that people like Asari Dokubo and EK Clark can't help him hold PDP governors to ransom, talk less of the larger Nigerian public in 2015.

Whatever the case may be, Olokunbolablessing.blogspot.Com is urging Mr President to go see his doctors. It is strange for a man of his age and office to be caught dozing off in such public place.

Nelson Mandela released from hospital

hday at the Pretoria hospital, surrounded by relatives
Nelson Mandela has been discharged from the Pretoria hospital where he had been receiving treatment since June, the South African president's office said Sunday.
He will continue his recovery at home.

"Madiba's condition remains critical and is at times unstable," President Jacob Zuma's office said, referring to the revered leader's clan name. "Nevertheless, his team of doctors are convinced that he will receive the same level of intensive care at his Houghton home that he received in Pretoria."
Mandela, 95, was hospitalized June 8 because of a lung infection. He marked his July birthday at the Pretoria hospital where he has been surrounded by relatives.
"During his stay in hospital from the 8th of June 2013, the condition of our former President vacillated between serious to critical and at times unstable," the office said. "Despite the difficulties imposed by his various illnesses, he, as always, displays immense grace and fortitude."
There was some confusion Saturday when two sources close to Mandela said he had returned home -- only to be contradicted by the president's office, which said he was still hospitalized.
"The family mistakenly thought Mandela had been taken to his Johannesburg home early Saturday morning," the source then told Olokunbolablessing.blogspot.com.
The frail icon has not appeared in public for years, but he retains his popularity as the father of democracy and emblem of the nation's fight against apartheid.
Mandela became an international figure while enduring 27 years in prison for fighting against apartheid, the country's system of racial segregation.
He became the nation's first black president in 1994, four years after he was freed from prison.
Mandela's impact extends far beyond South African borders. After he left office, he mediated conflicts in Africa and the Middle East.
His history of lung problems dates to his imprisonment on Robben Island, and he has battled respiratory infections since then.

Indian child Roona Begum recovering after hydrocephalus surgery

Posted: 01 Sep 2013 12:54 PM PDT

Four months ago, the circumference of Roona Begum's head was 94 centimeters -- almost triple the size of a normal baby -- due to ten liters of excess fluid inside her brain. Born in a remote village in northeastern India, Roona was diagnosed with an extreme form of hydrocephalus and was given only a few months to live.
The pictures may be difficult to look at, but 18-month-old Roona Begum's story of survival is remarkable.
Soon after she was born in a remote village in northeastern India, Roona was diagnosed with an extreme form of hydrocephalus -- a disorder causing cerebral fluid to build up in the brain.
Doctors had given Roona just a few months to live.
"Day-by-day, her head started growing bigger, she stopped wanting to eat, she would just lie in bed, it became very difficult for us to carry her and take her anywhere," says Roona's father Abdul Rehman says.
Roona's head grew to a circumference of 94 centimeters, almost triple the size of a normal baby.
There were ten liters of excess fluid inside her brain. Her head was so heavy she could barely move.
Hydrocephalus is more common among infants and older adults. The condition is caused by overproduction, obstruction or lack of absorption of the cerebral fluid in the brain.

The skin of her head has stretched so far, it pulled her eyelids over her eyes, making it impossible for Roona to see.
Her mother, Fatima Begum, would draw eyebrows on Roona with black kohl everyday just to try and make her look more normal.
"She had such a big head, it was scary for people to see her," Fatima explains.
Roona may be Abdul and Fatima's only child, but they couldn't afford to treat her. Roona's 18-year-old father works at a brick kiln earning less than $3 a day. For more than a year and a half, they took care of Roona in their two-room mud hut, with little knowledge or means of doing much else.
In April this year, a journalist took photos of Roona and soon people all over the world including two Norwegian students Natalie Krantz and Jonas Borchgrevink were moved by her condition.
Krantz and Borchgrevink put Roona's photo on a crowd funding website, hoping to raise $1,600 to cover her shunt surgery. In two months, they raised double that amount, and by August 2013, they raised more than $60,000.
They've transferred half of this amount to the charity arm of Fortis Hospital in New Delhi for her treatment. The hospital covered the remaining half of the expenses. The students plan to send the remaining amount for Roona's aftercare.
When Roona arrived at Fortis, her condition shocked even chief neurosurgeon Sandeep Vaishya, who has treated hundreds of children with hydrocephalus.
"We had never seen anything like that and we were completely clueless as to how we'd go about treating her. There was no precedent of treating a child with such an extreme case of hydrocephalus. We learned as we went," Vaishya says.
Initially, Vaishya wasn't hopeful about the surgery. Roona was malnourished, she had major infections on the back of her head from the pressure of lying down all day, and her skin was very thin and delicate.
We had never seen anything like that and we were completely clueless as to how we'd go about treating her.
Sandeep Vaishya, neurosurgeon
Cerebral shunt is the standard treatment for hydrocephalus. It's a simple procedure which involves inserting a drainage tube to keep the fluids flowing at the proper rate. But due to the size of Roona's head and her small, frail body, Roona's treatment was particularly challenging.
Vaishya says the surgery posed a huge risk to her life, and at one point they almost lost her.
Much to the relief of her parents and her doctors, Roona has pulled through.
After five surgeries, Roona's head is now down to a circumference of 58 centimeters, still larger than the average 38 to 48 centimeters, but small enough to allow her to live a reasonably normal life.
She constantly moves her head around, she is playful and most importantly, she can now see. She is finally getting the chance to be the baby she really is.
"It feels really good to see her now, she looks beautiful and happy," Fatima says.
Back in her village, Roona has become the center of attention. It's still painful for her to sit up but she smiles a lot, and her eyes, now visible, keep wandering in a frenzied pace.
"We want Roona to read and write once she grows up. Both of us (mother and father) are illiterate so we don't want her to be like us. We want her to have a bright future," Fatima says.
It's too early to tell if Roona will ever be completely normal in her appearance as several operations still lie ahead, but the signs thus far are promising.

Fired Paraguayan bus drivers crucify themselves in protest

Eight bus drivers crucify themselves after getting fired in the city of Luque, Paraguay.
Eight bus drivers crucify themselves after getting fired in the city of Luque, Paraguay.

They're lying on top of wooden crosses arranged flat on the ground.
Passers-by who approach them to get a closer look cringe when they see their hands. The protesters have driven nails into the flesh of their palms between their middle and index fingers, nails that then go straight into planks of wood.
The protesters are eight bus drivers who were fired from their jobs two months ago.

They protested in mid-July outside the offices of the Vanguardia bus company, their former employer. But after concluding they weren't getting anywhere by doing that, they "crucified" themselves more than two weeks ago across the street from Vanguardia's headquarters in the Paraguayan city of Luque, located 12 kilometers (about seven and a half miles) northeast of Asunción, the Paraguayan capital.
Damián Espinola, communications director with the Luque municipal government, has been part of a group of local authorities who have tried to mediate between the company and the crucified bus drivers.
"It's hard to believe, but it's true," Espinola said. "All eight bus drivers have been crucified for 17 days. They're also on hunger strike and some of them are in critical condition. They only drink water. They don't consume any solid food. Their hands are perforated."
Juan Villalba is one of the crucified bus drivers. Villalba is the secretary of the Paraguayan Federation of Transportation Workers. He told Paraguayan media that his group is willing to take the protest "to the very end," regardless of the consequences. His wife, María Concepción Candia, also nailed herself to a wooden cross Wednesday to show support.
But the company says it has done everything in its power to try to find a solution to the labor conflict. Aufredi Paredes, general manager of Vanguardia, told CNN that the company has even offered to rehire five of the bus drivers.
"We have done a little bit of everything to find a solution, including calling on the human rights commissions from the (Paraguayan) Senate and the Lower House. We have also met with the workers several times, but their leadership has been inflexible. We have followed labor regulations and will continue to abide by the law," Paredes said.
The protest by the eight is part of a larger labor action by some drivers for Vanguardia, a bus company with 150 employees that has been offering service in Luque and the capital for 45 years. There are currently a total of 50 bus drivers on strike, but the service has continued uninterrupted, Paredes said.
"The striking workers and some leftists who have gotten involved have attacked us and our vehicles, breaking windshields, tossing fireworks at us as well. We have also received death threats during meetings and afterward," Paredes said.
The workers have also caught the attention of national authorities. Cynthia González, vice minister of Labor and Social Security, visited them on August 23 in an effort to open a dialogue between the company and the bus drivers to find a solution.
"Both parties have to give up something in order to advance in the negotiations. In the meantime, we will continue to work by acting as mediators so that we can help the parties reach an agreement," González said. The workers went on strike July 23, according to the ministry.
There have been several meetings between representatives of the bus drivers, the company and mediators to no avail. Miguel Angel Gill, a councilman and medical doctor, is closely monitoring the health of the protesters. Every morning, local people gather around the crucified bus drivers to get an update on their condition.
A picture taken this week by Bernardo Agustti, a photographer for the Paraguayan daily Diario ABC Color, shows all the workers covered with a banner bearing the colors of the Paraguayan flag. All the workers are wearing medical masks. The crosses are lined up so that all of them face in the same direction.
In between two of them, lies a wooden coffin raised at a 45-degree angle; a coffin, they say, that will become their final resting place if the company doesn't meet their demands.

Family pleads for the release of stowaway teenager

The family members of 13-year old Nigerian stowaway boy, who flew from Benin to Lagos inside the wheel compartment of an aircraft, has appealed for his release from custody.Daniel Oikhena, a Junior Secondary School (JSS) II student attracted attention when he `flew' on Arik aircraft on Saturday Aug. 24.
Miss Sonia Oikhena, elder sister of the stowaway boy, made the appeal at a news conference in Benin on Saturday.
Sonia said family members were worried that Daniel was still in detention eight days after the dramatic event.
The stowaway boy

She urged the Federal Government to order the security agencies to release the youngster to his family.
She expressed concern that there had been no contact with the family by those holding Daniel.
"The only contact the family had with the security agents was when the SSS in Benin invited their mother for questioning.''
This, she stressed, had placed the family in a difficult situation over the issue.
"There has been no word from the security agencies as to where the boy was being detained or his state of health.

"We are worried and do not know where my brother is and his present health condition after flying in such a risky position.
"My brother should not be held culpable over the security lapses at the airport.
"If there had been tight security at the airport, he wouldn't have succeeded in taking that risk of flying through the wheel of an aircraft."
On his part, Desmond, (9), the immediate younger brother, appealed for his brother's release "because he acted out of ignorance.''
Desmond said he was not however surprised when the news came to them last Sunday that Daniel was in Lagos.
Desmond said his brother got the idea of hiding inside the wheel of an aircraft from foreign movies he often watched.
"Daniel has been telling us about plans to travel to America by hiding inside the wheel compartment of an aircraft.
"We slept in the same room the night before the incident and we were surprised when he woke up so early.
"He packed his school bag, removed the books and replaced them with some of his clothes and hung his rosary on his neck.
"He quietly walked out without anybody knowing his destination. When my mother started looking for him, I told her to go to the airport to search for him based on what he has been telling us.
"I want my brother released to us. We are missing him and want him back home. My family is not happy over the continued detention of our brother.
"He is just a child and must have acted out of ignorance; he needs brotherly love and guidance.
"We are appealing to those responsible for his detention to please consider us because we have no money to fight any case", the Desmond pleaded.

Pics from the PDP convention where Atiku & 7 governors pulled out

Posted: 01 Sep 2013 12:13 PM PDT

These are photos from the PDP convention that took place in Abuja yesterday where former VP Atiku Abubakar and seven other governors pulled out to form a faction of the party.

See more photos from the convention and a statement from Atiku's PDP chairman explaining why they pulled out from GEJ's PDP...after the cut...

Why We Are Taking Over From Tukur, Factional Chairman of the PDP, Abubakar Baraje explains..
"We address you today as leaders of PDP, who are worried by the increasing repression, restrictions of freedom of association, arbitrary suspension of members and other such violations of democratic principles by a faction of our party led by Alhaji Bamanga Tukur.
While we have done everything humanly possible to bring to the attention of critical stakeholders within the party the dangers inherent in the course being charted by that leadership, it has become very clear that the desperate permutations towards 2015 general elections have blinded certain people from the consequences of their actions.

Not only has the constitution of the party been serially  abused by Alhaji Tukur and his fellow travelers, all the organs of the party have been rendered virtually ineffectual by a few people who act as though above the law. Unfortunately, it is obvious that that they get encouragement from the presidency whose old calculations are geared towards shutting out any real or imagined opposition ahead of the party's presidential primaries for the 2015 elections.

As leaders of our great party, we consider it a sacred responsibility to save the PDP from the antics of a few desperadoes who have no democratic temperament and are therefore bent on hijacking the party for selfish ends. While the list of their violations of the tenets of our great party is long, we will highlight just a few:
The National Executive Committee of the PDP at its belated meeting of 20 June 2013 approved 20 July2013 for the conduct of a special national convention.
However, that date was changed to August 31 without reverting to NEC (the only authority vested with such powers) by a few people, apparently acting on the authority of the presidency.
Notwithstanding the fact that INEC had noted that the PDP congresses in nine states were not properly conducted, the illegal delegates from such states are being paraded at the so-called convention being held today in a cynical attempt to circumvent the law and further bring the name of the party to disrepute.

In gross violation of the PDP constitution which stipulates that the NEC meeting must hold at least once in a quarter, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur and a few people have been running the party like a personal fiefdom without recourse to that important decision-making organ of the party.
The NEC of the party accepted the resignation of the former members of the NWC whose offices were affected by INEC observations based principally on the agreement that the affected officers would be returned to their respective offices at the convention. However, against the decision of the NEC. And in a not-so-clever bid to exclude some perceived opponents of the few powerful members who are trying to hijack the party, these positions have been made Open to some Yes-men within the party.

Notwithstanding INEC instance that Senator Any Uba is the duly elected candidate of the party in Anambra State and against the background that he is so recognized by majority of our party members, the Bamanga Tukur-led Executives announced a purported suspension of Senator Uba and some other members close to him in defiance of subsisting court orders.

Despite that the PDP Constitution is very clear that the state chapter of the party cannot discipline a national officer, the Deputy National Chairman, Mr. Sam Jaja, has reportedly been dismissed by some renegades who have hijacked the Rivers State chapter of our party with the connivance of the Bamanga Tukur leadership.

The persistent change in the list of the party's delegates in many states as part of a deliberate attempt to rig the party's nomination of candidates, especially at the presidential and gubernatorial levels, with a view to foisting on the PDP some unpopular candidates who are bound to lose at the polls. The suspension without due process of the Governors of Rivers and Sokoto states. Even when the illegal suspension on Sokoto State Governor has been lifted, the Rivers Governor remains purportedly suspended for no just cause.

The illegal dissolution of the Adamawa State chapter of the party is a clear abuse of power by Alhaji Bamanga Tukur thus causing confusion in his home state.

Given the foregoing, it is very clear that the Bamanga Tukur leadership cannot guarantee for our millions of party members democracy anchored on free choice and the rule of law. We have therefore taken it upon ourselves to rescue the party from their dictatorial leadership.

It is indeed noteworthy that from 1999 to date, Nigerians have constantly voted the presidential candidates presented by our great party but not only dies such trust come wig enormous responsibility, we recognize that we cannot continue to take the people f granted.

From now, the new leadership of the party under us will strive to build a fairer as well as a more transparent and accountable PDP that will putty interest of members and indeed all the people of Nigeria above that of one single individual.

For all the members of our great party who may have become disillusioned by the anti-democratic tendencies of the Bamanga Tukur's leadership, there is a new lease of life in the horizon. It's a new day for the Peoples Democratic Party.

As we take over the leadership of the PDP, our immediate priority is to revive the culture of robust debate of all contending issues while providing a level-playing field for all our members. These were the ideals that differentiated our party from others and endeared us to Nigerians.
We are not, and have never been a political party where one man would be taking decisions for all members and where once you do not kowtow before the presidency, you are deemed a rebel that must be crushed. That is not the PDP bequeathed to us by our founding fathers. That, I dare say, is no longer what PDP under our leadership will represent from today.
