Family sources said she leased the apartment on her own and Klug was her tenant who paid rent to her. They also said Ada interviewed a large number of people before deciding to lease a room to Klug. | Posted: 26 Nov 2013 07:46 AM PST A woman who kept 140 snakes in sweet jars and plastic bins at her home has pleaded guilty to animal welfare charges. Pauline Wallace, 64, kept the reptiles in an upstairs bedroom, living room and garage at her home in York. York Magsitrates' Court heard how 20 dead snakes and a dead cat were also found in a freezer at the semi-detached house the woman shares with her elderly mother.  Wallace was found guilty of failing to ensure the snakes' welfare by keeping them in jars and boxes at her semi-detached house RSPCA inspectors visited the property in July after receiving a call expressing concern for the animals' welfare. Wallace kept the snakes in plastic sweet jars, bins and vivariums that were stacked from floor to ceiling though she couldn't say exactly how many pets she had. She also pleaded guilty to two charges of animal cruelty in relation to a border collie. RSPCA prosecutor Phil Brown told the court the defendant was prepared to plead guilty to a number of the charges she faced.  JPs ruled the 64-year-old also failed to provide the appropriate environment for the snakes to exhibit 'normal' behavior  The RSPCA visited the house the woman shares with her elderly mother after receiving a tip-off expressing concern for the animals' welfare   The court heard how Pauline Wallace (pictured leaving court today) is on an 18-month waiting list to receive treatment for unspecified health problems. She will be sentenced in January She admitted seven charges of failing to ensure the needs of the animals were met between August and September.  Twenty dead snakes and a dead cat were also found at the woman's home in York (pictured) The defendant also pleaded guilty to failing to provide the snakes a proper environment and failing to protect them from pain, injury, suffering or disease. Among the reptiles found at the house was a Blood Python, a Salmon Hypo Boa and Cinder boa. Wallace previously pleaded guilty to a charge of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal, admitting that she failed to provide veterinary care to the border collie that suffers ecto-parasitism. Mr Brown told magistrates that the prosecution accepted her guilty pleas and would be offering no other evidence to ten other animal cruelty charges she faced. The court heard how Wallace was on an 18-month waiting list to see a medical specialist for unspecified health problems. Her lawyer, David Ward, said the defendant also had 'some issues with the family' and asked for sufficient time to prepare a medical report. Chairman of the bench, Malcolm Smith told Wallace who was released on bail: 'You have pleaded guilty on the first day of your trial. 'Some credit will be due in terms of any sentence although clearly not full credit.' Sentencing was adjourned until January 16.  | ||

| "We Have Returned the N111 Billion Abacha Stole to Nigerian government" – Switzerland.. Posted: 26 Nov 2013 07:31 AM PST  The Government of Switzerland has disclosed that it had returned to the Nigerian government about $700m looted by late military Head of State, General Sani Abacha. Switzerland Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr. Hans-Rudolf Hodel, made this known in Abuja recently at a press briefing ahead of a two-day seminar on Anti Money Laundering and Combating Financing of Terrorism. The envoy asserted that the Swiss government was ready to reopen the case if Nigerian government presents concrete evidence of any other money still being held in any Swiss bank, noting that Switzerland had no interest in withholding illicit funds. He said his country had returned about $1.7bn to their countries of origin in the last 15 years. "Switzerland and Nigeria agreed to request the World Bank to participate in the review of the use of funds, in the framework of a budget control process of various welfare projects," he said. He disclosed that his country was yet to receive any request for information on the November 4 Berne Declaration report: Swiss Traders Opaque Deals in Nigeria, which allegedly accused the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation of conniving with some Swiss-based oil firms of fraudulent deals, worth $6.8bn. "I have no knowledge that we have been contacted by the authorities. In case they will start proceedings and they will need our help; of course, with international legal cooperation, we will help them if they approach us. But until now, they have not approached us," he said.  | ||

Findings have revealed that the sudden demise of Honourable Raphael Oloye Nomiye, the representative of the Ilaje/ Ese Odo Federal Constituency of Ondo State might have occurred after a sexual encounter with a female banker who was believed to be one of his account officers in his private residence in 2nd Avenue, Gwarimpa, Abuja. While confirming the incident, the PRO of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, Hyelhira Altine Daniel disclosed that investigations are still ongoing as regards what led to the death of the lawmaker. According to some of the Honourable's neighbours, the lady reportedly rushed down to inform the lawmaker's security details that "oga just fell down and is vomiting blood." Street Journal gathered that by the time the security officers entered Hon Nomiye's bedroom, he was found on the floor with a towel around his waist as he bled from the mouth. He was rushed in his official car, a Toyota Camry with registration number "148B REP" to a private clinic in the neighbourhood. The Doctors at the clinic were said to have told them that it was more than what they could handle, thus prompting the movement of the Honourable to the National Hospital. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Street Journal gathered that the female banker who saw the lawmaker last is presently being held at the Gwarimpa Police Division. She has reportedly made useful statements to the police. It is believed in some quarters that the late Honourable fell victim to "magun", an african charm normally used to track down unfaithful women. The existence of "magun" as well as its efficacy have however remained very difficult to prove scientifically.  | ||

Singer Lami Philips is the latest celebrity to add her voice. She posted an article on her blog titled Celebrity Mumuism where she called out 'upcoming' celebs on their 'lies'. See below..Now whenever upcoming "celebs" post pictures with other established "celebs" in clothes from a stylist they have paid approximately 20k or so and with bling that aint quite bling….talking about " we outchea making it happen"…then wait till after the function to hitch a ride knowing they squatting at some friends place and don't know where their next meal is coming...I tag that as mumuism. The interesting thing is that this "mumuism" has a snowball effect. Other people see it and want to be like them and quit school or work in the hopes that they also can one day take pictures with these people. At the risk of sounding like a sour grape…when all is said and done…common sense will never be outdated. I don't see the sense in creating a false image of success at the detriment of your own peace of mind.I get it if your "faking it till you make it" but the "faking it" process better have a plan and a timeline if not your going to wind up being that person people use as a bad example. Oh now I feel bad already! I should be nice right?! I shouldn't go in on the fatally insecure ones who would do just about anything to be "popular". Hey ..if you can "Kim Kardashian" your quest and somehow make money from it…..great!! BUT, if all you focus on is how to get in on paparazzi pics after spending money you don't have on a makeup artiste and stylist …then you end up being the "….and friend" tag in the spread of pics.,….I say "epic fail". My take on life is figure out what you are actually good at , perfect that talent /skill, and then map out a plan to make it work for you without compromising the essence of your sincere identity. At the end of the day, all these people we try to impress aint going to bed thinking about us and will move on when the next person comes along serving something slightly close to your offering. You've got to figure out who you are (with the help of your creator) and make that work for you. It makes no sense to struggle at being someone else!! God didn't create clones or Robots. If He wanted to He would have. He created Unique human beings….so do that…be Unique…Be you…. These are the random musings of Lami. Phillips… till my next rant…. Stay happy and drink coffee… xx  | ||

In order to be romantic, you should: (1) Create Time: In order to be romantic, you need to spend time with your loved one frequently no matter how busy you are. Spend time, Call, text, chat and communicate to show you're thinking of her. (2) Make Sacrifices: If you want to be romantic, you will need to make sacrifices once in a while like giving up your favorite game, show, hanging out with friends or colleagues, e.t.c just to be with your loved one. (2) Bad Attitude: A partner or both partners with a bad attitude cannot keep a relationship. Bad attitude such as impatience, constant nagging and complaining, greed, cheating, pride e.t.c usually lead to the death of a relationship. (3) Lack of Communication: A relationship where a partner or partners do not communicate their feelings, wants, expectations or challenges will be hard to keep. (4) Lack Of Appreciation: Appreciation can happen through romance and affection. A partner or partners that lack these qualities may not be able to keep a relationship. (5) No respect: when you tend to take your partner for granted and therefore lack respect as a result of being too familiar or close with each other, you may not be able to keep a relationship with your partner. Even though you might get or see any of these bad signs, you may be very lucky to still be able to work it out and keep the relationship, but in most cases it is too late. So assuming you already have a good and stable relationship, let us look at some ways in which you can keep your relationship: (1) Respect: In order to keep your relationship with your partner, you should always respect them. Most people get to mess up in this area when they are close and very familiar with their partner. | PHOTO: How Nollywood Actress Sent To Prison For Stealing Was Betrayed By Her Friends Posted: 26 Nov 2013 05:29 AM PST  Nollywood actress, Yetunde Akilapa who was sent to Kirikiri Prison, Apapa, Lagos around February 2013, for allegedly being in possession of 100 master key has been discharged and acquitted of the theft charges brought against her. Yetunde Akilapa was arrested around February and detained at Alade Police station in Somolu after she was accused of stealing a bunch of keys. In a statement by her lawyer, Yetunde Akilapa said the keys she was caught with were used in her new movie, Bunmi Akata and that she was arrested after being framed by people she regarded as friends. The case filed under Charge no F/10/13 COP v Yetunde Akilapa was dismissed for want of diligent prosecution.  |
